A Nerf controller!!! http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/28/pelican...ps2-controller/ This begs the question: why not nearly 20 years ago? This would have been perfect for the NES. Oh--and if Blu-Ray is teh doomed, I wouldn't be surprised: one of the major blu-ray supporter is releasing a laptop with HD-DVD: http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/28/samsung...top-yes-HD-DVD/

Zelda is Wii controls only. You'd have to use the GC version for GC controls.

On a related note--here's a bunch of fatalities from Way of the Warrior (3DO): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EeWk2BaVESk&NR

Awesome Japanese commercial for Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1PlkRk_iaAU&NR

Well, everyone is saying the character development totally went to hell on this one, but I guess good gameplay is good gameplay, still. It's just that my wallet's been taking a total hammering this month, what with Rocket Slime, Okami, Mega Man ZX, and now this. Plus I imported Sin and Punishment from Ebay and raided pawn shops for lots of goodies.

Go away Mr. Nintendo. Why am I "Mr. Nintendo"? Because I think Yukes isn't very good at making wrestling games? I don't like the DORs either.

Is it the same crappy engine, just with new crappy controls?

I've given up on my EB having releases I want on time. Besides, I have barely even scratched Okami. Definitely going to rent at least, buy if I totally love it.

Different taunts/poses!

So the RP's coming out for 360, don't peak your interest? Oblivion is coming to PS3 too. Enchanted Arms is being gobbled up by a lot of RPG fans...but the critical consensus is thoroughly mediocre. Blue Dragon is a wannabe Dragon Quest. Lost Oddysey is a wannabe Final Fantasy. Hey look--a semi-live action (commercial? trailer?) for Fatal Fury 3! =

Hey look--it's the 360 re-re-re-re-re-re-re-launch: THIS TIME WE MEAN IT! And we're going to have games for Japanese people, and games without space marines in it!

One of the PS3s at the TGS overheated big time: http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstatio...ssage.id=601402

Doesn't really apply. Sony is clearly persuing it on a civil basis, not criminal basis. There are legit methods of ticket scalping i.e. not on the premises type of situation.

I call bullshit. Show me documented legal precedence and maybe I'll believe it. However, the fact that they clearly don't even have a *name* for an "agreement" of this ilk should be a red flag. I can't even google up anything like that. "I hope it is true. Just like music downloading crackdowns..." Which had no effect *at all* on the sales of pre-recorded music sold through retailers. They actually went *down* after the "crackdowns." Whoever wrote that is an idiot.

It does seem possible. KH isn't a series that requires incredibly complex character models, where we can zoom in and count every single pore, drop of sweat and hair. Although a multi-console release with console-specific worlds would be awesome. Although I fear how many zippers Nomura could put on Mario's outfit.

Well, personally I think the Square to Sony defection is far more symbolic than a definite reason. Yet, this isn't just Square. It's Square-Enix. A platform that has Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest on it is going to be nigh-unstoppable in Japan. Final Fantasy XIII--and XIII vs. is a lock for PS3 *at least*. I could 360 *maybe* getting a port of the international versions. However, MS would have to sit down and coerce Squeenix into a sweet deal to risk that. With PS3 definitely getting FF...it would make sense for another *major* franchise to go to Wii. And yes--currently there's only FF Crystal Chronicles and Dragon Quest Swords--both spinoffs.

Hardcore Gamer's review makes a good point about Okami, that it almost pains me to admit: It gives me flashbacks of having to equip the WIND WAKER, then equip the SAIL *and* the grappling hook just because I need to travel somewhere in Wind Waker. Then go back to the regular items when I arrive. Not that it's a better game, but still it's a good point about the interface. No doubt about it, though, Clover is filled with raging Zelda fanboys. I was surprised the first time I heard the "Okami chime." I wouldn't be shocked if Orochi had a pig demon form. I'm about 4 hours in. I'm finally getting some of the meatier combat abilities, and fought the first real boss. Konoha Shuffle was definitely cool.

You don't have to pay for Flip4Mac. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsme...components.mspx It was listed as a "trial" download where I was looking at it. I guess it's just a "trial" as far as the "advanced" features, then?

I've worked with Macs for about a year (troubleshooting ipod then the computers themselves), but I'm lukewarm about them. I would buy a Mac Mini (it's small, quiet, has a good price, efficient, and damn near never breaks), but I'm convinced the iMacs are overpriced pieces of crap. However, at the same time I have 3 compaqs in my house now, because none of them have ever broken, and windows is fine as look as it isn't XP, which is memory-hogging junk. Keep in mind I'm not a graphic designer, I don't game with my computer, and I'd be satisified with pretty much any computer that I can surf the net, email, etc. with. However, I don't see myself buying a mac soon because a) all my computers work fine, and if my presario died today I'd still have another. b) there's no effective free solution for windows media content on the new macs. Only a lousy plugin for quicktime you have to pay for (flip4mac), c) the "good" MacMini, with the superdrive (CD-burner) costs 800 bucks, and I could get a comparable or better compaq for about the same--which I've been relying on without a problem for my entire life almost. d) It would be a pain in the ass to get serviced cuz I don't exactly have a ton of authorized service areas where I am. Oh, and e) I would much rather strip Steve Job's flesh from his body with a roll of rusty barbed wire than shell out money and join his disgusting cult.

what I was afraid of--nobody seems to have any other answer but that.

I know someone whose half-blind parents have problems with the menu bar size/text in Mac OSX. Pretty much everything else can be adjusted (dock size, text size, etc), but not the menu bar. Zooming in misses it completely, and I don't see anything in system preferences to set it.

Issun sure gives Navi a run for her money in the annoying department.

Klonoa 2's babble was way better. It was a mock language that sounded very pleasant to the ear. Although as I said, with that about the only thing to gripe about, that's a good thing. Okay, thanks. I get it now. I think I was having Ammy eat the turnip/collect it or something--but now I realize I just "bite" to hold it in her mouth then offer it to the kid. The "bite" command is more like "grab" than any sort of offensive move.
-
I finally got the game. Gorgeous visuals, perfect control, love the gameplay, and basically everything I disliked about the demo seems to be fixed here. Biggest gripe so far: the babbling sound effect isn't too pleasing to the ear. No speech or good voice acting, plz. However, everything else is fantastic. Question tho: I was trying to do that little turnip-digging sidequest--but even after getting all 10, that kid doesn't recognize I accomplished it! Yes, I know leaving the garden resets the count. I know I got 10. Something I'm doing wrong?

Final Fantasy VI GBA!! http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3153922 Yes! Now they almost *have* to make a GBA Chrono Trigger by default!
