*BUMP* http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3153901

I doubt that. The Wii is being sold at a much lower price than the US SKU, too (although sans Wii Sports).

Since I don't think I've seen it done here

I liked the one where he had the Halloween costumes better: http://snltranscripts.jt.org/77/77dconsumerprobe.phtml -
Ah, okay. That might be a really useful feature if there was very much to spend crystals on other than leveling up the armor.

The good news on this one is that's more in the Metroidvania realm than the other games, and it isn't brutally hard like the Zero games. Reviews are good, too, although it apparently isn't as good as Dawn of Sorrow (but what is?). Will be glad to post thoughts when I pick it up. Hopefully that's tomorrow but not until at least the afternoon.

Bump. Silmeria ships this coming Tuesday!

Mega Man X. Armored Armadillo. Storm Eagle. Flame Mammoth. The first appearance of Zero's theme. Awesome and totally classic. AoA: Thank you for posting. Somehow I missed it when you first did. However, the orchestrated one on that page I like even more.

Flik, you lousy baka. Rocket Slime will have to tide me over until I can go Saturday.
-
It's "out" in the sense that the "ship date" was Tuesday and the game is technically in some consumers' hands. Although I have yet to find a retail copy.

It's Thursday and I still don't have this game. *No* stores in the area have it. Not EB, not Wal-Mart, not K-mart, and I forgot about Target but I'm guessing not. EB expects this afternoon on it, but a lot of good that does me since I'll be working. Ditto on Rocket Slime, but I don't feel obligated to get Okami at EB since I didn't preorder it, unlocked RS. I'll likely have it this weekend because I'm shooting to go out of town on Saturday, but anyone have it yet? Downhome?

Peter Moore has mutated into Mean Gene Okerlund: http://www.1up.com/media?id=3034823 I wonder if Itagaki is going to cut a promo on Tekken 6/Virtua Fighter 5 with him.

Beavis and Butthead SNES: When the show was near its peak in popularity, we got a bunch of games based on the show. Object was the same (get to see Gwar), but all the games were different. SNES one was really sanitized. The violence was limited to standard video games stuff, no profanity, and no flatulence. However, it came out alright. Basically, one or two players complete a bunch of levels in whatever order they want, then go to the Gwar show and try to finish the game. There was a few coop attacks (like throwing the other player), but the real fun of two-player (aside from the silly arcade games) was hauling off and smacking the other player when you got annoyed with him (adding to the effect could be your own provided dialogue) and fighting over the food. Beavis and Butthead Genesis: Now this one is a little more like it. Sega's looser content guidelines allowed for a ruder, more mischievous game, although still not *exactly* like the show ("This is an MA-13 game! Chainsaws only work on trees!"). Still, a lot of puzzles were completely lifted from early episodes of the show. Yes, *puzzles*. Okay, it was more like "find x item so you can use it at location y, and find item z and ticket piece a1!" If you had recorded the "classic eps" with all the really crappy animation, you practically had a video walkthrough for most of the game. If not, you're in for some oddball puzzles and a lot of abuse. The graphics were great but the huge sprites for B&B made them big targets. Plus, collision kind of sucked. You'd have to attack enemies over and over and over and over again before they would die. However, no other game out there features you (spoilers?) serving a fast food customer a Mouseburger with French Flies, making an army dude wet himself with a snake, and cherrybombing a toilet to set a trap for an angry fat lady to slip and fall on pop. The sewers really, really, REALLY suck...btw... There were also a Game Gear and Game Boy version. The Game Gear version was horrible (it's best part was the game over screen, for real), never played the Game Boy one. EDIT: Apparently it was a crappy Zelda clone. I'm glad I never played it. Here's i-mockery's take: http://i-mockery.com/classicgames/detailed...eld&id=1645

Thoth--I assume you finished the game, right? Is there really any differences between the two characters' games? I started a new Normal game so far with the chick and so far it's only slight dialogue changes. And wow, Normal isn't brutally hard. However, I have noticed after completing most of the missions, there are blinking sections of the map where bosses have respawned. When you fight them, another boss appears elsewhere. I thought there was a practical reason for this (like items to get from them or something), but so far I see nothing. So, are those sections of the map blinking just as a warning for the respawns? And cool...model F lets you customize the direction of the buster!

Info/screens on Bleach for Wii: http://wii.ign.com/articles/732/732985p1.html The Wiimote can be used for the sword fighting aspects, although the license makes me way and hasn't been announced for U.S.

Well, with GTA, the MO is building onto what is already an extremely successful formula.
-
I'm as indifferent to GTA as one can be, but probably at least 15x the work and effort goes into new GTA games than the typical Madden game, plus the gameplay actually changes and evolves. Playing essentially the "same game" can be fine when it's a new game in a series that offers new levels/worlds/abilities.

The OAO Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess Thread

Here's the box art for the game, thankfully it wasn't the one we were seeing on display boxes (which wasn't really bad, but not good for box art, and very untraditional): http://www.destructoid.com/wp-content/uplo...9/wii_zelda.jpg Was betting on that one since I first saw it on Nintendo Power's cover. That's the official box art--dunno if this one is going to be the GC one or if it will be identical to the Wii one: http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P/B0000...01.LZZZZZZZ.jpg Um...official, fanmock up, or 3P cash in? http://i1.tinypic.com/mkaetw.jpg -
And unlike the 3D Zeldas, you have a jump button.

TB is *compellingly* stupid and derivative. I love it on a level I usually reserve for crap b-movies.

platform/puzzle/adventure. Yeah, I know, that's not too specific.

Xbox 360 (premium) - $342.82/shipped @ Overstock.com
AndrewTS replied to Downhome's topic in Video Games
That's a terrific price. So with the must-have extended protection factored in, it's only a little over the retail price which doesn't include a decent warranty! -
The original PS1 game, Brave Fencer Musashi, is much, much better.
-
Yeah, that game was really good. Basically the best parts about NBA Jam and Mk smashed together. The PS1 version was a darn good translation. I've played every single version of WM TAG that exists: Arcade, Genesis, SNES, 32x, PS1, Saturn, and PC. Surprisingly the SNES version really, really sucked. It was a bit easier to play and just as good as Slam Masters. I bought a Playstation primarily to play the very best version of the game available at home at the time. Plus the PS1 NBA Jam TE was really damn good, too. The game had enhanced fire effects and the GINORMOUS head mode. I bought IYH the day it came out and damn it sucked. The animation was pitiful, the colors were grainy and washed out, the sound sucked, the gameplay was kind of screwed up by putting a lot more "realistic" attacks in while simultaneously making the special moves 10 times stupider. The Super Pins....ugh, don't get me started.

As for the Wii's regional lockouts, the official word seems to be there's no official word. It seems like the US and European heads have their heads up their asses and aren't explaining clearly how things are going to be. Wikipedia puts it in a nutshell: So either Nintendo won't even come and tell us specifics, or the European and US heads are really poorly informed. Remember that the NoE guy flatly denied a DS redesign right before it was announced.

Yeah, I'm planning on taking on normal later. I had serious doubts over the gameplay balance, knowing the Zero team's rep. Taking easy difficulty isn't something I make a habit of. Why are the save capsules so far away from the boss arenas, though? That's quite annoying.
