  1. Saw this on the RottenTomatoes Forums http://www.rottentomatoes.com/vine/showthread.php?t=485623 It seems Americans got the prof x ending, at least one poster claims to have gotten the Cyke ending, but any posters here able to confirm if they got something other than prof x? Well, Burton wasn't really a Batman fan. I doubt Joker will be killed in the next Batman movie, likely just jailed. Although the more people Joker kills, the more Batman thinks that he should finish him off the next time he has the chance.
  2. That's pretty much a strawman you're setting up there In the 60's, everything was RADIOACTIVE, and RADIOACTIVITY/ATOMIC ENERGY could do anything. Literally everything from superpowers to raising the dead could be done with it. Nowadays, genetics are the big sci-fi topic (often along with big sci-fi mainstay cloning). People were cool with the more subdued costumes in the earlier xmen movies. Yeah, a big gold and blue outfit--maybe it should have a target on it too. The biggest gripes I've heard about the Spidey movies were that they completely exorcised Gwen Stacy from continuity, and that the series overall has less dramatic weight to it than the cgi characters jumping around the city. People find the changes here less annoying than the fact that they changed them just to rush 3+ plots and cram them into one.
  3. Maybe he didn't want to have that angle where we'd be seeing some hot black-on-black crime.
  4. Well, actually, I don't want to make a shounen-ai thingy (tell me, how does your friend know these terms? Hmm, something suspicious there...) just a vid of two guys who are impulsive, and hot (as in, lots of fire). Naw, just a big anime fan, much bigger than myself (I'm casual at most on that).
  5. I didn't really mention the former because of my obvious bias... However, he was pretty much just a generic evil pig demon until OOT. He's pretty cool there, appearance-wise, but still not much of a talker. He's awesome in Wind Waker--too bad he goes down like such a chump there. Bowser's really entertaining in the Paper Mario games for sure. Although my favorite moment is the "Super King Bowser" minigame. It's going to be really fun using him again in Super Paper Mario.
  6. Wasn't there supposed to be a pretty darn good PS2 version of Fire Pro? I haven't heard much on that.
  7. It wasn't makeup, though. It was some computer de-ageing thingy. Like, they used photographs of both Stewart and McKellen from 20 years ago and did that...somehow. I read an interview w/McKellen about it. Darn...that's rather disappointing, but ah well--Beast still turned out great. Showed a friend your review... I think that means he liked it, but didn't want to admit it.
  8. Tool... Price is one hundred twenty-nine dollars, ninety-nine cents (+ all applicable state sales taxes).
  9. With Ratner directing and *three* screenwriters, I pretty much expected it to be a brainless actionfest. The most entertaining segment (intentional or unintentional), was the danger room scene where Wolvie was looking all "X-Team", chomping on a cigar, watching a plan come together. *Fastball special* Hey, look, a sentinel head! Although I'm pretty much agreeing 100% with the review. Pyro/Iceman being teased all this time, and that's what it leads to? Pathetic. Also about Mystique/Magneto...not only does he suddenly not care in the least about her, but she also has apparently become a "traitor" to beliefs she's held nearly all her life? The fact that they used all that beginning screentime for exposition about Jean...what the hell? It seemed set up just to reuse the Grey home for the scene "20 years later." Although Rick Baker's makeup effects on the younger X and Magneto were excellent (that guy's been around *forever*, I swear.) Jean mostly stands around for the entire film. Then looks *super-intense* for her "action" scenes. What the hell was the tossing around of "class 3!", "class 5, OMG!"? It was like Pokemutes. Yet while bringing it up it seemed like Magneto took along a bunch of useless mutants for the hell of it, too. "Porcupine boy, I choose you! We'll use for a shocking scene later where you skewer a human." I probably shouldn't ask, but what's that acronym mean? Anyway, it was worth the money I paid for it....that is, I used a free movie pass. I hereby rate it "entertaining crap." Oh, thoughts on the trailers: Where the ****ing hell were my mother****ing snakes on a plane?!??! My Super Ex-Girlfriend--looks terrible. I think Lobo would be even a bit offended at how sexist it appears. PotC2 : looks okay, never saw the original film. Where's the value in seeing a guy who looks like Cthutlu (lovecraft--feel free to correct my spelling there) for an entire damn film? Anyway, probably big, loud, and stupid movie. Ghost Rider : Interesting...but it's a long way from release. Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift : ....

    PS3

Yeah--Super Smash Bros Brawl. Twiilight Princess will likely be the version I go with, since I'm getting a Wii anyway, and I expect to have no difficulties playing with the Wiimote.
  11. My impressions, although I didn't have the patience to stick with it for more than 3 eps at a time.

    PS3

Yes. Define "lose". They're the only ones who will make $ on hardware, and its an attractive purchase *if* there's going to be more on it except for Nintendo games. The whole Wii60 thing is based on expectations that it's going to have weak 3P support. Save for Assassin's Creed, not a single tentative PS3/360 title means a damn to me anyway, though. PS2? God of War 2 and Okami have me interested, and the DS has a killer lineup coming. Sony has a pitiful lineup right now considering what they should be able to scrape up, and 360 is going to have OMG 3Ds/ FPS w/ SW@3+3GUYS WIT BIGGUNS KILLING $#!+, which isn't going to sate my desire for overblown/weird Japanese style games. That the Wii will give me in spades, and Sony is going to get around to that eventually, but I'll wait at least a year and $200 less, thanks. Oh, and can't forget that Zelda game. The GC version is just graveware anyway. I'll keep my goofy purple cube at least long enough to practice up on Smash Bros and replace it with a shiny new Ninwii.
  13. Funny thing--I was going to give it to a friend for 50 anyway if I go through with it. Hell, that way you can have someone else to play wifi with. No problem. There's absolutely no doubt of its awesomeness, so it's a no-brainer if you don't already have one. I didn't realize how many improvements there were until I saw the vids. Only thing I don't like is the way GBA gamepaks stick out, but I dealt with GB carts sticking out of my SP, so it's no big.
  14. Super Milk-Chan and Excel Saga.
  15. This man speaks the truth. I just found out about hacks for The 360 a couple of days ago. Neither of you read the article. It *isn't* that "PS3 games will only play on the first system it is used on" thing that's like half a year old. It's a BS "Sony will sell only the license, retain ownership of the game disc" BS that is completely unenforceable and stupid.
  16. If you want to put a GBA game there.
  17. Smaller, lighter, brighter with a bigger stylus, better d-pad, better battery life (even on its brightest setting, it is supposed to be as good as the standard DS), and more sensible arrangement of some of the buttons. http://www.fraggerock.com/images/gaming/ds..._comparison.jpg Cabel's DS Lite video reviews: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzXQICqsa5I I'll have to try it hands-on to really make up my mind, though, but if I didn't have one, like FroGG, I'd snap it up no question.
  18. The choice is trickier for me since I already have an electric blue DS. The current plan is to let a friend buy it dirt cheap, then get the Lite. That way, I have the Lite, and I also have someone to play against. Although, I hate the lack of colors currently. I also hate iPods aka A Trendy and Expensive Cry for Acceptance. The fact that the DS Lite is based on Apple aesthetics really turns me off, so either I'll wait for better colors, or I'm going to do everything I can to customize the current one. Until the Lite is out in the US, it's going to be hard to find decent skins for it.
  19. Well, if you read it, it's a different rumor. The aim is the same, though. If Sony does it--fuck them, I'm not buying the system.
  20. Yeah, but he'll be back.
  21. Not really my genre of interest... Although I hear control and AI could use a little work in this entry.
  22. No, people probably will enjoy playing this for more than 5 seconds. Although I hope you don't have to unlock it like you did MMB&C or the crossover mode in SFC2.
  23. I agree. No saving on the overworld map, lots of level-grinding, the battle system is nothing special, and random battles (which irritate me after being spoiled on so many great battles where you can see/avoid/sneak attack enemies in the field), and the plot crawls. You can't even save and heal in the same place when you're in town. If you die in a dungeon, you have to start back AT TOWN, with the option to keep your acquired experience if you pay a buttload of gold for the privilege. Although it's not as horribly slow and needlessly drawn-out as many of the other DQ games. So, if you like the series already, go for it. However, if you started RPGs with the 32-bit gen, I wouldn't really recommend it. On the + side, the script is rather well done and the voice acting, while goofy, is alright. The translation was done by a Brit, just to let you know what you're in for.
  24. Agreed. The Smigel special only cemented this further.
  25. It works for me. And if you get that prompt just Copy and Paste in your browser address window.
