that bandage is significantly smaller than the original "blemish." Oh great, JBL is stealing Jesse Ventura lines.

Dumb Irish Bastard. Why do you work on a Japanese guy's arms? They can't punch. You work on their legs.

I'm going to guess (hope) that maybe that ring gear was part of Rey's Kolibri (hummingbird) gimmick.

    Street Fighter Alpha Anthology

Actually, EA doesn't have exclusive rights to the Marvel characters for use in games. Remember that Activision has been making X-Men games at the same time the vs. Capcom games were coming out. On top of that, Marvel Nemesis and X-Men Legends 2 were released side-by-side, almost. Plus Hulk is in Total Destruction, which is a Vivendi Universal title. EA has exclusivity on producing online fighters featuring the Marvel characters, however. So Capcom could likely release those games if they paid Marvel and didn't add online play, although I'm not certain.

    Lesnar court case update

The "indefinite extension" for coming up with a written argument stuff is hilarious. "You have until (date) to give me a good reason." WWE: "Umm....could I get an extension on that? Like...I dunno...until sometime...in the future. A while from now? That'd be great."

    Street Fighter Alpha Anthology

The PSP version of Alpha 3 being on the way worries me. It likely will be the superior version overall. Maybe they'll even pull features to sell the PSP version. I'm not expecting Maki and Eagle to be in the Anthology (as they are in the GBA version of A3), but if this one is basically the Upper ROM sans the home version features, I'll pass.

    Street Fighter Alpha Anthology

A 3D beat 'em up with the Final Fight name tacked on. But it's supposed to be grittier (re: not quite silly and charming as the 80's classic) and have rather tenuous connections with FF. Beat Down was an interesting failure--one that Capcom may have learned a lot from, but I'm still skeptical they can pull it off.

    Street Fighter Alpha Anthology

Good question. My guess is that the version of SFA2 will have all the Gold content, at least. Yeah, bring on Final Fight Streetwise! ...closest we're going to get to a new SF for now, sadly.

    Mega Man X Collection

I told you x6 sucks. And x5 started the trend of extremely forgiving checkpoints. In x4, if you run out of lives you'll start back at either the beginning of the level or the mid-level checkpoint. In x5 and x6, there are multiple checkpoints you can continue from regardless of the lives you have.

...uh.... 5.0 rating...! 5.0 FUN FACTOR! Buy it, will ya? I'm amused even Gamepro panned 50 cent's lousy game (2/5).

There's a Hori pad.... That looks kind of like an SNES pad... http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=...oducts_id=2467& Except that the buttons are placed/shaped EXACTLY THE SAME as on the stock controller. Defeating the whole purpose, I'd assume.

First Rumble Roses is good, if a bit more arcade-style than the other Yukes wrestlers. Check this out: http://gamepro.com/microsoft/xbox360/games...ews/50871.shtml I didn't know it was possible to do a game review with ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT THE GAMEPLAY WHATSOEVER mentioned. 2 pages, too. That's something else. It's all "OMGRFFX, H@l0c haracter! ONLNEONLNELNELINE!!!" (posted in quotes, since it broke Anya's internets from the ads and other garbage)

    Ape Escape 3 / Saru Getchu 3

Ukkison--a chainsaw-wielding, hockey-mask-wearing monkey (that appears in a horror-themed level, BTW) kicked my BUTT repeatedly. Even in knight form I couldn't capture him. ...but I'll try him later with the Wild West Kid form. He has rapid-fire guns, and trick bullets (ones a seeker, another is a net bullet). 1up's review for the game sucks.

    Ape Escape 3 / Saru Getchu 3

"We have to capture all of those monkeys, and stop their TV shows!" It's been available in Japan since June of '05, but finally it's available in the US. Ape Escape was pretty much the first game to make use of both PS1 analog sticks for anything other than camera control (you can use the right analog to select the direction you strike, plus twirl it around to do a spinning stun club attack, for instance). The plot's silly--monkeys who have acquired special helmets get human intelligence...yet remain mischievious as heck. They run around causing havoc, and your task is to capture them with a handful of gadgets (you acquire more over the course of the games). However, in this 3rd installment, the twist is that instead of just causing mayhem, they're putting on incredibly stupid TV shows that are turning people's brains to mush, and you have to put a stop to it. The first Ape Escape was a critical and financial hit, but the 2nd game was passed over by Sony for publication in the US (Ubi brought it stateside instead, and tough competition plus low distribution made kept it from garning much attention). In comparison to the brilliant first game, many found Ape Escape 2 to be painfully average, and short. Anyway, I just snapped up 3, and while the dubbing is rather weak--not coming close to the excellent production values of platformers like the Ratchet and Clank / Jak series, they do a great job of giving you a break and driving the silly story forward. It's the finest game on the market where you can club a monkey over the head and throw a net over him (although so far I've had my club stolen from me, and had to fend off some attacks from the monkey, corner him, and catch him in the net to get it back). If you haven't tried the series, hit up your nearest EB/Gamestop where you should be able to find the original Ape Escape for about $4.99, before taking the $39.99 plunge. (And if you only played Ape Escape 2 and liked it, by all means get this one ASAP--it's way better). Oh...and as far as the ape/monkey confusion...they seem to be built like chimps, but none of them seem to have any visible tails. *shrug*

Sounds like the guy taking the call should have handled it better. But he may have taken like 100 calls like that during the week, so that could get a bit tiring. Also, yeah--it's amazing how well you took it. One moment she's saying that the select screen pictures are *exactly* the same as in DoA3. Then when she enters practice mode, is puzzled that "this is next gen?", about 30 seconds later she tells me it locked up. I suggested resetting--maybe just a fluke. Then it happens again. Oy. Doesn't seem to be a problem with other games so far, but likely it would keep happening if left go. She was practically laughing at the situation though.

How would you rate your Microsoft customer service experience then, Anya? BTW, anybody with 360s--keep them horizontal, and never so much as such them vertically unless you have a stand. At a EB some folks had ring 'round the disc and had a ruined 360 game. The guy at the counter exchanged the disc but recommended horizontal usage.
