Is this Raycist!~, or just stupid? (the Megaman game thing) http://toastyfrog.1up.com/do/blogEntry?bId...379721#comments

Castlevania 3 finally came in the mail. It isn't as brutally hard as CV1 could get to be, IMO, plus the control is much better than it was on the emulator I was using. I came close to beating Alucard on my last life, but then I died so I just scribbled down my password to try later.

I wouldn't be worried, it seems easier than WW, but regardless there's selectable difficulty. Nobody seems to be really complaining about the difficulty.

I bought the game. Really loving just about everything so far. The game is gorgeous (this being the GC version and previously only having the PS2 games may have something to do with it though), with the PoP-ish architecture and art design that's a joy to look at and even more so to navigate. As mentioned before--no Godsmack. Although I swear some of the same music from SoT often pops up. Not a bad thing, though. No more angry grunting and threats from the Prince, instead so far expressing his shock and horror of what he came home to. Sound effects are very WW-ish. What I've played so far is paced very well. If you're a vet of the series, you can jump in but not feel like your intelligence is being insulted. The game refreshes you while introducing you to new techniques quickly but managably. As for combat--well, so far it's tough but fair. The stealth kills are very useful. Remember in say, Mark of Kri or Tenchu, sneaking up behind an enemy and plunging your sword/sai into a baddie's neck? Now imagine in after wall running, rebounding off a shutter, grabbing said baddie's neck, spinning around his back--lights out. However, if you fail, the enemies are VERY tough. So far even two enemies can really be a handful, although I'm without the dagger or time or any way to rewind/slow time. I expect more weapons and skills to make the road smoother, though. So far you can find new weapons laying around that will grant you a new combo, like WW. Definite winner. I haven't played as Dark Prince yet, however, so I'm very early in the game still.

HHH was pretty annoying in HCTP, but nobody else was as annoying as Taker. Those damn infinite grapple strike loops were very hard to escape.

Even in periods lacking in game news, at least we haven't stooped this low: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/vine/showthread.php?t=449828

That doubled as a blood code, you know. Remember when those were all the rage, and not nude codes?

Holly's got Moves Set 1 even though he's not in the game. However, there's nothing like the Falcon Arrow to be found in that set, sadly. Which is why I think it may have been axed. I looked through all of the possible finishers and didn't see it. Dupree Bomb is basically a Mich driver that hooks both legs after a pin. There are still ??? marks for some moves, so it may have been renamed (a la "Air Raid Siren.") So great, let me know if it is in J82. The closest I see is the Gordbuster 2 (facefirst) and the Orange Crush (which ain't gonna cut it). I think the earlier games had a regular version and a spinning version; I know No Mercy did.

I can't seem to find the falcon arrow anywhere in the game--is it still locked? I did the 10 exhibition matches with a CAW, but I didn't unlock any legends but Andre.

Two Thrones is, BTW, Godsmack-free.

Review in; and the game seems to be quite awesome. http://ps2.ign.com/articles/672/672820p1.html Probably I will need to pick this up next paycheck. Plus the game is out now.

Hooray. The Future of gaming! And no, you can't use your old Dual Shocks. Or PS2 memory cards. Or PS1 memory cards. Wireless controllers are THE FUTURE!

Gunsmoke was only for the arcade, NES, and Famicom Disk System, AFAIK. And I forgot about River City Ransom, thanks.

McCool looks awful in this game--like the lobotomized girl in Clonus: http://www.mst3kinfo.com/aceg/8/811/811-3.jpg

I was considering that one--my EB has it.

Awesome, thanks (I thought I only asked for those two, so I replied and I think I asked you again, ah well). My brother in law has a Master System. It also has pretty good versions of Double Dragon and Ghosts and Goblins. Other good MS games are Shinobi, Psycho Fox, and some of the arcade translations.

Picture: http://www.vgmuseum.com/systems/topnes/nes.jpg Basically, Nintendo released a smaller, cheaper-to-make version of the system (like nearly every company since) around 1990 I believe It's not really that the system is any better at reading cartridges, but the mechanism for inserting and loading cartridges (you have to firmly put it inside the old NES, and press it down. If lots of dirt gets in there, or if the mechanism craps out, it's a pain in the BUTT to get it to play. NES 2--stick the cartridge in, boot on. Didn't the NES Game Genie have some sort of problem where sometimes cartridges would refuse to run without it if used a lot?

Because of Tectoy, I believe. I didn't get a top loader, but I'm always on the lookout for one.

Raza: Nothing qtips couldn't fix. Danville: Wrong console...those are mostly for Super NES.

I already have MMAC so I'm covered there. I didn't even know DWIV came over here. I know DW3 is pretty rare for NES though.

"Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link" Hmm...gee...never heard of that one. Seriously, though I know a lot of people underrate it. Although I'm hesitant about getting battery-backed games, cuz you don't know if it will work, or last long. Got several of those games emulated in some form, but I'd forgotten about NG, W&W, and MM. Scroby: check PMs.

I rented the game. PM me if interested in playing a game tomorrow (Thursday night) around 8 PM EST. Be advised I haven't played the game much so I suck.

It actually looks much better than that honkin' huge piece of crap Alps Gamepad that obviously inspired it, as well as the 360's. I've never been able to see the 2nd set of triggers pictured in any of the pictures for it, though. Are they directly under the top triggers? Under the controller? I can't tell. The complete lack of compatibility with PS2 accessories, controllers, memory cards is still extremely annoying, however. The "steering wheel" analogy is out of place, though. Most people I've seen drive with one hand. You aren't going to be holding the controller parallel to your body unless you're laying down, and you don't drive like that. Well, except for Batman.

I managed to fetch this after surfing through wwe.com, which has been McGriddled with Deuce 2 DVD ads *shudder*.
