Depends on the model-- a PS2 slim would go for more than the old model, and people will pay more for a Platinum Gamecube than a purple nurple one. However...PS2 slim with the box and instructions and everything? Wait until about a week or two before Christmas. Place an ad in your local paper for the PS2. Ask at least MSRP for it and explain the condition, then thank me later when desperate parents ring in wanting to take it off your hands. So, specifics?

Cheese your way through (ie Bison Psycho Crusher in CE), or wait for ARMax codes. I'm not sure it is one of those "if you lose a round, throw the whole match and continue" dealies or not, though. I'm wanting to upgrade my AR to MAX, but EBs/Gamestops won't take trade ins on ARs, darnit. Super Gn'G has limited continues, and they don't let you access the SNES level select cheat, unfortunately. Even minus the double jump, I still like Goblins the best. Silent Bomber is one of the greatest PS1 games you never heard of, even though it sounds like a flatulant nickname. Urban Chaos makes me almost want to cry with its wasted potential. Pretty decent plot, concept, and gameplay, ruined by the shoddy, shambling Tomb Raider-esque engine Eidos was working with and an utterly crap camera. (Note: It's a PS1/DC game, not to be confused with the new beat 'em up, Urban Reign.) Like, one of the main characters is supposed to be related to Cody, and I think that's the only genuine connection. Impressions of the early versions of the game were extremely underwhelming, but I'll be renting it anyway. It's going to suck ass, and everyone knows it. It's a bland looking half-ass beat 'em up without all of the goodness of bashing skulls in with pipes, 7 foot dead wrestlers, and transexual hookers. Even Beat Down had more potential. The fact that this thing is being tossed out there to die after more ambitious attempts at the genre makes its existence even more insulting. Oh, and just when you think the 100 point ratings scale can't be more idiotic.... Gamespot makes t-shirts out of them.

haha no, he just dies. Souls kill him or something. My favorite part of the baraka fight is him lighting the monks on fire, fucking ruthless. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Lifestream kills Baraka? I hate how at the point I'm at there's like 30 Tartakans everywhere. Get close and they dice you up nasty, but even when you're handing it to 2-3 of them at once, you're getting like 4 blade sparks in the back of your head. In this game, Baraka's a total hoss as Tartakans go. He's scrawny in MK2, but looks like 280 pounds now.

Does Baraka bow to you as he has the sword shoved between his eyes and 3 gallons of blood shoot out of the wound?

It's Midway Arcade Treasures 3, actually, but yeah--it's all driving games and those age really poorly. Alpha Generations is different from the regular Alpha/Zero anime movie, though. I've seen the Alpha one, and it features a vastly different art style. It also has Dan, Sakura, Ryu going evil, and some pretty good fight scenes. The animation/art style isn't as detailed as the SFII animated movie, but the SFII one was rather lacking in decent fighting action and the Alpha one's style seems to fit the game extremely well. Don't expect to see much of Sodom, Birdie, Rose, Guy, etc. though. There's a villian not seen in any of the games standing in since Bison wouldn't fit. I beat the Bionic Commando arcade game in CCC, although it's little more than a gimmick yet to be fully realized than it is the polished title than the NES game was.

The X-Box one is supposed to load faster. There might be slightly different control-setting options, but nothing too significant. X-Box owners don't get the trailers for Devil Kings (a PS2 Dynasty Warriors clone Capcom is making) or the PSP CCC, just the Street Fighter Alpha Generations (a OVA with wonky looking art styles going on), which isn't too surprising. That's it, unless there's well-hidden exclusive secrets beyond the known ones.

You should not be disappointed. The ports are very well done (okay, there's a few people ranting that sfx and voices may be .003 seconds off in the SF games, but whatever), and nearly all of them have adjustable difficulty and a lot of freedom to configure controls. The art is pretty awesome too. Those rejected character designs are funny. I can't wait to unlock the ones for the other SF games.
-
I unlocked the unlockables so far on Final Fight and SFII. The bio seems to be the same but Art section seems to be different, but there's stuff that wasn't on SFC2, like concept art for characters that didn't make it into the game, earlier designs for Vega, etc. There are bios for every single FF character, including enemies. As of now it appears Capcom USA's stance on Roxy/Poison is that Roxy's a woman and Poison's still a guy. Heh.

I was IMing a friend about the situation, and the topic game up..."Whatever happened to Data East?" I did a little research, and found out. They weren't bad enough dudes to rescue themselves from bankrupcy. They lasted until 2003?!??! Wow. That's a somewhat sad tale. Well, somewhat, but not really. They did have some decent arcade titles here and there. Square Enix dragging the SD license back out and probably desecrating it with their utter incompetence sounds more likely than them blessing us with a well-crafted followup.

Well, everyone knows of Elevator Action and Operation Wolf, and Rastan to a lesser extent. Most of the stuff on the Japanese compilations make me draw a blank, though. Double Dragon Advance is better than the arcade version, but trying to play 2P on it is a real pain in the BUTT, unfortunately. Konami has totally missed the boat on compilations, though. They've got a Castlevania and Contra compilation...for PC, that's like really old and I dont' think it's compatible with computers beyond Win98, and they're strictly NES games. Aside from that, they have some rather skimpy GBA collections of the ancient stuff, but that's about it. I'm betting if Igarashi has his say we'll get a CV compilation, but it would need to include Rondo of Blood or there will be some very disappointed fans. Now would be a good time to jump on the bandwagon, with them having the TMNT rights, but it seems like they'd prefer to use it as unlock bonuses on the newer games. Nobody seems to own *exclusive* rights to release Marvel games, but likely Capcom would have to pay to use those characters. EA has exclusive rights to use those characters in online games, though. However, if Capcom could give Marvel a chunk of the change, I'd be willing to get a compilation with all of the Capcom Marvel games (or most), which amounts to a heck of a lot.

"However, thanks to a fuck up with the duplication, the disc will only play back on PCs (not standalone DVD players or even PCs, for some bizarre reason" By that second PC do you mean gaming systems--ie PS2 or X-Box DVD players?

Since I wasn't a gamer until the 90's, I'm not the one to ask about obscure 20+ year old arcade games, I'm afraid. Jeremy Parish did a blog entry on Taito Memories 1, which includes some of the games. http://toastyfrog.1up.com/do/my1Up?publicU...pager.offset=30 Taito Legends includes a few of the games from Taito Memories 1 and 2, but also ones not featured on either. So, if it sells well, there's plenty of material for a huge followup. Also, the side of the box says that the full title is "Capcom Classics Collection Volume 1." There is a trailer for the PSP version, which includes games that may be in the console Vol. 2. Included in the trailer, but not in the console version are: Avengers Strider Magic Sword Captain Commando Speed Rumbler Willow Last Duel Black Dragon Block Block Quiz & Dragons Mega Twins (Chiki Chiki Boys ) Those and the console "volume 1" indicates that apparently a followup is in the works, but the sheer number of licensed titles Capcom made cuts down the possible list by quite a bit. I suppose they could throw SF1 into one of them, though. I'm surprised Willow is going to be on there... Although hopefully they don't end up with a lackluster "leftover" collection, featuring a few games that are rare but not really warranting a purchase by themselves. See: MAT3, Namco's 50th, to a certain extent Sonic Gems and definitely its rumored followup. EDIT: Oh, and I may very well be wrong about Capcom Classics Collection's SFs--you can unlock "Art 1","Art 2" "Tips" and "Cast" (and "Music for Hyper Fighting) for each game. So it *may* have all of the hidden material from SFC2 on there as well.

Incidentally, the cross-game matching and remixed soundtracks are included for the SF2s. However, the art/bios/hints are still exclusive to the SFCollection2/Generations version. Okay, I know what some folks are thinking. "Taito...they made Bubble Bobble/Bust a Move...and...what?" See: Taito Legends, which is getting a US release thanks to Sega. http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/09/13/news_6133138.html Capcom's raised the bar for compilations, but still well worth 20 bucks, IMO.

After getting over the novelty of having the arcade ROM of Final Fight available to play and SF2/CE/T available, I'm playing some of the other games in the collection. Trojan is a blast.
-
I used R2 but no dice. Of course, he's dizzy for about 1.76 seconds so maybe I just missed the window before getting impaled through the chest again.
-
Gotcha, so sounds about right. I picked up the Capcom Classics Collection, which shockingly enough is indeed $19.99. Piledriving Roxy as I type this. Guilty Gear Dust Strikers uses both screens, so I don't see why not. Plus you can do up to 4 player simultaneous with supposedly no slowdown (at least in preview versions).

How do you impale Baraka with the sword?
-
Controlwise I'm not surprised M64DS couldn't quite pull it off, but Smash Bros uses a simple control scheme and surely the DS could handle the graphics (powerwise its supposed to be equal or better than N64, although resolution may still suffer because of the small screen), so why not? Ripper: What games do you have for GC that you were planning to trade in? You could probably get a better deal from people on here than some trade-in place.

I've just taken out Reptile and got the Wall Climb ability. How far I got to go?

Warrior absolutely shreds WWE in Byte This reponse

full-text: http://ultimatewarrior.com/09.27.05DVDII.htm "And that son-in-law of yours, what a piece of work he is. But you know this already, he’s cut from the same placid, impotent mold as you. I’m the most unprofessional person you’ve ever stepped into the ring with? Well, now, ain’t that pretty. Because what I remember, Mr. Stephanie McMahon, is that you were only in the ring with me one time -- and for less than 5 minutes. Here all these years since leaving the ring and becoming interested in mentoring young people, I often wonder what kind of impact I am having because I take it seriously and it is important to me do it effectively. Well, it sure sounds like I taught you very well in the 5 minutes you had in the ring with me. Because from what I hear you are the biggest unprofessional asshole the business has ever seen. You are welcome." "Well, now, I’ve gone and done it again. Damn if I haven’t. This delusional, insane, dumb, muscle-headed former wrestler has scrawled another classic masterpiece." Agreed. -
Warrior's rebuttal about the DVD situation: http://ultimatewarrior.com/09.27.05DVDII.htm Funny stuff, even though I don't know/care how much of it is actually true.

Try using both analog sticks, and pushing in the same direction at the same time with them. There is nothing wrong with the controls. Maybe the demo unit at your EB had a worn-out controller or something. The game's gotten critical acclaim because of the quicky sense of humor, great music, simple but addictive controls and it combines innovative play mechanics with old school goal-based gameplay (not just clearing the stage, but beating your own best time/size). If you set out to just "beat" it, it's a short game, but perfecting your skill can take a long, long time.

Interesting, especially if they fix some bugs.
-
I haven't done it myself yet, because I hoped to do better but it says "load constellation data" in the manual. Whether that includes the individual stars as well I'm not certain. My North Star is still too big and my Ursa Major is made from a measly Bear Man. Oh, and the cutscenes are even better. All things considered, the King of All Cosmos is a heck of a nice guy considering how he was raised. The KD music still tops WLK, IMO. Although co-op is amazing fun and versus is drastically improved.

^ Awesome vid. Still my favorite of the MK fighters. I've done some of those combos but some of those sicker ones I haven't tried. Some of them don't look to be possible in the final revision/home versions, though. What would you say? Surely those multiple roundhouse ones were fixed, anyway. Megadeth's "Symphony of Destruction" set to it also kicks. What's the song after it? I'm taking a wild guess and say it's Rammstein. EDIT: Okay--credits explained that. Was loading rather slow for me.
