At least Christy apologized profusely for her match sucking ass.

Heheh, how'd you sell it? Was he just getting up, or did it hit you while you were still running and in the missed animation? Using weapons as something to throw people onto is something that nobody seems to have gotten worked out. Weapon grapples are nice (Van Daminator, Taker's chair-assisted throat crusher, DDT onto chair), but still aren't quite the same. A better use of that is something I've been hoping for every since No Mercy. Suplexing somebody onto the stairs will make noises, but I don't think it does any extra damage, and they're still laying through a solid object. The SD games took a huge step forward with the use of tables, though. I have few complaints about it other than how set-up and use of them is way too fast.

Run, jump, spring from wall to wall, dive down flights of stairs and slide around. Granted, it seems rather redundant with tons of great PoP-style games out there (including a revival of the original series), but depending on the environments, goals, modes of play, etc. it could be a quality title.

Thank you. It's also virtually the only feasible way to pull off the Molly Go Round and other standing/stunned top rope moves. However, I don't really remember her ever setting it up that way. I guess hit detection would be way too spotty if you could do it whenever an opponent was standing. Running moves give me lots of problems too. Running grapples are very picky--most of time you dive and land on the ground. Stuff like flying elbows have to be started early, giving opponents time to sidestep out of the way easily. Running specials--like the Gore--can whiff pretty easily. It's funny to see it totally miss, though. I whiffed on the Gore before and got totally plastered in the face with a steel chair before.

Jesus H. Christ. They're only video game systems.

I have, plus I filled out a couple THQ wrestling game product surveys and I believe I posted the link to one of them as well here. Yuke's' English site, BTW: http://www.yukes.co.jp/html/english/e_index.htm However, I don't know how much luck you would have sending comments to a company that is based in Japan and probably speaks Japanese exclusively. Likely these comments are collected by some small agency who answers questions and deletes suggestions on how to improve the games.

I thought this was just a throwaway snarky comment...then I scroll up... Let's just call it "Night of Stale As Shit Characters That We've Tried to Milk the Saggy Tits of Yet Again Because We Haven't Done One ****ing Original Thing In About Five Years."

Yeah, but who needs that? Yukes is throwing in the sleeper spot that hasn't been used prominently for about 6 years. This'll be even better than when they added shoving matches to SvR. Yukes is sooo on the cutting edge, by SvR2K7 we should be able to pie face a stunt granny. Each of the developers THQ has work on WWE games strive long and hard to wallow in utter mediocrity. Well, except for Studio Gigante, who even with THQ's waist-high standards, drowned regardless.

http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3143485 After reading page 2---yow. While the main game looked swank already, having a side game that's actually more than a pointless, tossed-in afterthought and is actually a cool homage/different experience itself has won me over even more.

You also can't fight Smoke in the MKII on MAT2, AFAIK. The shadows in both games flicker madly whenever they actually appear. There should have just been an option to turn them off completely. "Master Bo' Rai Cho has never married. This next move that he will show you is the reason why. Most heroes impress the ladies with their kombat skills. Master Bo' Rai Cho repulses them with his. In a vulgar, but most effective maneuver, the young Bo' Rai Cho would vomit on the ground in front of his opponent. If his opponent stepped in the bile, he would slip uncontrollably. This moment of immobility would give Bo' Rai Cho a chance to attack. *Impress Kitana with Bo' Rai Cho's Puke Puddles 3 times.*"

From 1up: PSP UK Launch is a Smashing Success In spite of illegal imports, a great opening weekend. by Jane Pinckard, 09/06/2005 UK gamers finally got their chance to buy into the official launch of the PSP, although some hardcore gamers had already ordered the console through e-commerce sites. The numbers rack up to be the biggest console launch ever: over 185,000 units sold according to some estimates, smashing the previous recod held by Nintendo DS at 87,000. There was no stand-out game title hit, but Ridge Racer topped the list with around 37,000 units sold, followed by Wipeout Pure, Virtua Tennis, and Metal Gear Ac!d.

Johnny Cage first used Jeet Kune Do in his first film, NINJA MIME. The movie was a flop in the US, but a huge success in France. A memorable scene in NINJA MIME entailed Johnny Cage using his Knuckle Fist pop-up...silently...against a very rude man. This move allowed him to pop his opponent into the air long enough to execute another attack. Johnny Cage first used the Nunchaku in his Oscar winning film, HWAAAAA!! Johnny played the villain opposite the great Channie Jack of Hong Kong theater. Execute some of these high attacks he used against Channie. In 1991 Johnny Cage was a contestant on the hit game show, Celebrity Smash TV. In the final round, he threw his Forceball at Mutoid Man and won the game. Johnny Cage donated all his prize money to charity.

Circa Labor Day weekend usually gets crap, and around it you usually get stuff studios don't expect to make much bank anyway. Remember Paparazzi and Sky Captain coming out last year? And Labor Day isn't a "real" holiday anyway.

Did you get the Japan Import PS1 MK2? How are the GBA MKs besides MKA? I know about Deadly Alliance missing characters and TE used the rest of them, but that's about it.
-
I was hoping they'd make the Stevie-T either not auto-pin, or they'd finally include a feature so that moves only pin if you want them to. Apparently they just gave him a regular Double Arm DDT, which will probably be Foley's crappy fall-on-my ass version.

I almost see where you're coming from with owning the PSP MK games. I entertained the thought at one point of getting all of the Zelda games, even on systems I don't own, just for the sake of it. Then it occured to me just what sheer insanity it would be to spend more than a nickel on Wand of Gamelon or Faces of Evil. However, I still want to play Zelda's Adventure. Overview: http://www.ganonstower.com/zldadv.shtml Screens: http://www.ganonstower.com/scr131.shtml What's worse with Mega Man is that the GBA AC is going to come out no sooner than 2006, if it doesn't get converted to DS, that is.

"Cyrax has never liked any of Johnny Cage's movies and felt especially robbed of his eight bucks when he saw Johnny's film, NINJA MIME. Cyrax is going to beat those eight dollars out of Johnny Cage's skull." -- MKDA Konquest mode " > anything in MKD, although yeah, I liked Ermac's revamp as well. Hyper SF2, the Anniversary Edition, was released in Japan in '03, 15 years from SF1's release (1987). So yes, it's the 15th anniversary of "the SF series," even though it started with a game that Capcom is embarassed to admit they ever made.

KoF94 Rebout is coming to the US...as a standalone X-Box title. Well, it'll have XB Live and the original Neo Geo game included. I guess it's more worthwhile than SvCC. At any rate, perhaps that means XB owners will get an online Mark of the Wolves in the near future. I got Scud The Disposable Assassin for Saturn. Pretty cool game, although too bad I don't have a saturn gun.

Yeah, having to block with Start/Select, or lightly tap/push long to get different strength button presses sounds great. Of course, you can do that on GBA already and don't have to pay 200 bucks + for the privilege. Didn't you already say you think portable fighters suck?

DA and D behind MK1? Ouch. But I sort of see your reasoning anyway. "Two of them didn't even start out as new characters, they were just returning characters altered at the last minute to be someone else. " Jarek and Fujin, right?
-
Anya and I both prefer DA. There may be less moves, but I think the roster is better overall, MKD took away the signature moves (like the special taunts/impales), it was a brand new attempt at a new MK engine while MKD was almost exactly the same, and right now it's a better value. I think most of the DA fatalities are cooler. Plus there's Cooking with Scorpion, and funny bits in Konquest mode like Cyrax taking revenge on Cage for him watching Ninja Mime. Anya thinks so, I think not. MK4 is just too dull, feels too sloppy, and the AI is really really really dumb, as opposed to being just a cheap SOB like the older games. She feels it plays more like playing a human being (perhaps one that never played an MK game ever, though, I guess), so overall she prefers it over MKD.

Now I'm picturing that scene from American Pie, but with Dusty in the Eugene Levy role, and a teenage Dustin caught in the act.

CronoT was a more useful poster in this folder than Mike. Although this thread title sucks. It sounds like something CT would have come up with.
