I remember seeing Chavis/Tatanka's website a couple years ago. He sounded completely out of his gourd. Take one of the Warrior's rants (minus the politically skewed stuff, and comments about queerin'), throw in pseudo-Native-American mysticism, and that's the kind of garbage that was on that site. The majority of one of my political science courses couldn't name the Vice President. Probably most of the country couldn't until the Haliburton stuff got more press. Even now I have my doubts if they could. Face it, most of the country bases its voting decisions on stupid bullshit, and if you only let intelligent, informed voters vote, hardly anyone would vote. So, I'm not saying I would base a voting decision on it, but I don't believe it would help her case. It makes her look like a stupid old lady with a stick up her ass. The majority of 6-12 year olds have 50 bucks to blow on a game and can go to malls whenever they want? 8-10 year olds, to be fairer? Source, please. That sounds like a bigger problem than anything GTA-related, if so. That's besides the point that I think the policies are being enforced, anyway. MGS2 made me want to find Hideo Kojima and kick him square in the balls, however. Please tell me that didn't just figure that out recently.

I've never played it, either (although I have played games that she was in) and all I can say is that the vampire/goth/slut look is HAWT. Not with her in particular (I would never call a video game character hot) but just in general. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That, and the very nature of her species. She'd look at men as little more than pieces of meat. Men tend to not mind being objectified as much as women. I had a weird experience the first time I'd played MvC in an arcade. I'd started out playing a 1P game a few of the new characters, and a girl joined in, with Morrigan and somebody else. I didn't fair so well, getting figuratively raped while her onscreen avatar finished me off by literally doing so. Seeing that move for the first time is a real WTF moment.

Hands down. That SNES game (the name escapes me at the moment) that had a man playing the banjo for boxart was made a pretty interesting choice. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> PHALANX! I'd say number 2 is more likely. Streets of Rage had female characters both as a playable character and getting the hell pounded out of them, and that was, like, 1991. SF2 hadn't hit SNES yet. The Sega CD FF kept Roxy/Poison female but covered them up a little more, though.

I'd say "beating people up" would be US canon, but it sounds so dumb and hokey. FFR was import only, and considering how awful it was Capcom USA had good reason to sweep it completely under the rug. Right now it's supposed to come out in November.

I'm not sure if there's an 100% canon reason accepted by both Capcoms, but Fighter Mania says Poison framed him (dunno what).

I remembered Lieberman's antics when he was up for VP, and that was about a 7 year gap. It wasn't a factor, though. However, I remembered. It's not the exact same situation, though. Imagine if Tipper Gore had made her big stink over the music biz, like, last summer, and was up for nomination now. Younger voters are going to view her as ridiculously out of touch.

So, no actual clear criteria. At least 1up's Essentials and Crucials made it clearer. EDIT: And Anya beats me, narrowly.

Ah. Some Evolution (I think any game with that in the title, ever, has been a disappointment). Agreed on the SF2 argument. The original Alone in the Dark and Prince of Persia are borderline-unplayable pieces of crap by today's standards.

I'd assumed Evo had everything VF4 had and more. What's Evo missing that VF4 has?
