"The Last Call is a fallaway slam." *is ashamed* I knew that, but for some reason I was trying to think of the generic name...and nothing was coming. Of course, I have been rather apathetic about the actual wrestling shows these days. Yeah, usually I do pre-dates/alternates all the time in that. You're still stuck with *one* outfit per CAW slot on all of the SD games, even SD v. Raw.

Wouldn't making a web-based chat room be more sensible? AIM convos don't hold a dozen people anyway, I don't think. "So, has the preliminary discussion thing been postponed or are we still going to have one tomorrow?" I'm personally not going to be able to finish my list tonight (a Mother's Day deadline is a little unreasonable, and I had graduation yesterday), but I could hand it in tomorrow afternoon. Then I'm going to see Hitchhiker's Guide. I guess when everyone's stuff is then then Flik can set up the plans for discussion. I have AIM, I just absolutely hate it and use it as little as possible. BTW, chaos--I got Conker; seems pretty fun so far, but no way in hell am I going to be able to get a review-able amount of playtime into it. Thanks for the recommendation, though. This frame-rate is killing me, though.

No, you could probably make a really good Razor on them. However, next to an in-game model of one of the wrestlers, he kind of sticks out as being a created wrestler, whereas in No Mercy you wouldn't really notice. HCTP/SvR lets you customize basically everything from every move, to their entrance movie, theme music, and entrance poses. Unfortunately, Razor's stuff isn't in, so you'd have to improvise. But they have the Razor's Edge, the Last Call is there too (you know, the suplex where he holds a guy sideways and throws them backwards over his shoulder), and basically all his moves (a flipping slam will have to suffice for the top rope version, though; they don't have the top rope Razor's Edge). HCTP/SvR lets you extensively design what their faces look like, but it's a lot of work and time-consuming. Heh, save for the lack of the SD games, the Cube's the best wrestling game system now, really, it seems. It's the best wrestling game out there right now, but I would never buy a system just for one game. Agreed. He should get Zelda too.

House of Wax technically doesn't fall into that category. Yeah, the first 50 minutes or so is awful/skippable, but the last 40 improves drastically. However, overall I preferred HoHH *vastly* over it, which I thoroughly enjoyed all the way through until the ending, which was kinda cool but looked just a bit silly. If HoW is better than the other DC ones--well, guess I may wanna skip renting them at any time in the fture.

Why not sign up for an account? I spend too much time online as it is. I have to draw the line somewhere. I'd probably use MSN messanger befoe I'd use AIM anyway. MSN Messenger is good for myself and Renegade as well (we BS to each other all the time with it).

"R.O.B. head," come to think of it, probably is the camera that was rumored to be included for taking pics and using them as designs in gameplay. So brace yourself to see people's cocks emblazoned on the shoulders of their character's uniforms in Halo 2.5. They probably hope this will be embraced more by the Japanese, hence the very calm, decidedly un-Western design.

I was more meaning style. Xbox at least looked like it was trying not to be a PC, and sorta succeeded. This thing looks like a rejected PC. It doesn't appeal to red-staters enough. It should have a cup holder with removable spitoon on top.

That, the lack of masks, and No Mercy's infamous glitch. The AKI games are so filled with perfect little details it's hard to come close. AKI had the body part-specific damage down long before anyone. It actually matters how you hit somebody--if you hit somebody closer to your fist with a clothesline instead of your bicep, it does more damage. If you pin somebody a lot, it makes them a little more susceptible to being pinned (these are testable--ie when you try to KO someone for the clothesline bit, and anyone who played Revenge can tell you how resistant those guys are to being pinned if you don't have a few near falls first. No wrestling game that I know of has made a distinction between damaging the left limbs vs. the right limb. You can work on somebody's left arm the whole match, but clamp on a submission that affects the right one and still win. Minor complaint, though. HCTP has arguably the single best CAW in any of the modern wrestling games around. SvR's is a little more limited, but sadly both games' CAWs "stick out" compared to No Mercy's CAWs, who look exactly like the in-game characters because they're based on their patterns and models. It will likely be out early next year, but may not play PS2/PS1 games. I wouldn't buy one for just their wrestling games, though.

Democrats excommunicated from Baptists church
AndrewTS replied to Big Ol' Smitty's topic in Current Events
Maybe they just didn't want to admit it. I thought they'd believe you'd go to Purgatory, or something. When the issue comes up and I don't know the person, I'll often be vague and play D.A. to whatever they'd say. Regardless, all you filthy Godless Jedis are gonna burn. -
You say that like you started that. Do you have to steal other people's far-fetched and stupid posts now? Czech's avatar/title was a long time comin', and made me laugh pretty hard first time I saw it.

Isn't this for the 2004 Movie Award? Except for a few (Hitch, Diary..., Coach Carter), these all look like 2004 movies. I guess it's Affirmative Action. LOL that Scorcese can't even get an MTV Movie Award. Apparently you can vote as many times as you want, even if you don't delete cookies or anything. *votes twice against Portman in any category she's in*

Damn hippy Macs. http://spoonman.roarvgm.com/videogame/nes-ROB-2-s.jpg Naw, only has one eye and it's more rounded. I'm guessing it's going to be the X-eYe Toy or something.

Good Lord, what did he do this time? CT, you know very well that next to nobody gets banned around here for one specific incident. Some mods will arbitrary decide that somebody was a "problem" poster and ban them. Like Choken, who wasn't really a good poster but didn't really do much that was outright offensive except post-whore. (even though we know he's still around, and virtually everyone knows it) Seems like Mike submitted his list though, so Flik likely will still use it. There's a thread in Site Feedback about it (it's in the Current Events is a lot like Hitler thread). Here's Kotz with the closest thing to an explanation:
-
It's the game console you can take to meet your mother. I always thought the X-Pacx was really friggin' ugly, so this is just continuing the legacy of bad-looking designs. A color change or a nice logo on it would do wonders.
-
It's ONLY that size in comparison to an average human head? I'm surprised. "Honestly, I hate it. I'd take the old Xbox look over this. Looks like a freaking PC." The X-Box was basically a freaking PC, though. It looks really boring, though.
-
Is it one of those new copies that still has the white sticker on it, but since it isn't technically "used" they aren't selling it as much?
-
I seem to remember Vince needed to have an excuse for why he was where he was at the time (I think it may have been when it seemed like he was cheating on Linda with one of the "Alliance" Divas, or something). And it'd be nice to see Essa back but I don't have much hope of him being used well. LOL

The Current Events folder. It's a lot like Hitler.

"There has NEVER been such a blatant derailing of a thread before. People were simply not allowed to discuss Moore's film without Mike screaming about how untrue the facts were." This is virtually every single F 9/11 thread anywhere except for a happy little hippie commune message board. It's virtually impossible to discuss the movie without discussing it's dubious "facts" and version of reality. Really awful example. -
I agree on the stats and cruisers, but I never experienced the same amount of trouble with the AI or anything like that. It's mainly against CAWs, but even if they're built up rather heathily (around 5s in each category), the computer can turn it around anytime they want. Even by countering a move with a back elbow, then turning around and hitting a special on you. Boom, you're done. The A.I. will run into a missile dropkick over and over. Which is pretty much the only chance in hell a cruiser has of winning a match, normally. The Smackdown games *never* have had decent AI for tag matches or other matches that aren't one on one. I don't think I even need to mention Undertaker's striking grapple loops. I know the original poster doesn't have a PS2, but I've played Rumble Roses--it's like a more realistic version of Ultimate Muscle. With tits. The actual gameplay (what's there anyway) is more polished than SvR/HCTP. They improved the collision detection and everything just feels much tighter. I wouldn't pay 40 bucks for a rather shallow wrestling game without a decent CAW, though.

But HCTP is probably still the best wrestling game for current consoles, judging by all the negativity I hear about ever other game. I mean, it's not a great game and can be a real pain in the ass sometimes, but it's fun to play with some buddies, at least. The awful stat system, worthlessness of cruisers, cheap as hell AI (worse than No Mercy on hardest difficulty in handicap matches), and the CPU's ability to win in 2 or 3 moves any time they want even after having the snot beat out of them for a while is why I hate it. It's more of a Sports Entertainment game than a wrestling game. Ooooh! Pretty entrances! Nicely done storymode! And that's it. A bad wrestling game is bad regardless of competition at a given time or on a given console. Oh, and stupid me--I forgot about the newer AKI games. Def Jam and the GC Ultimate Muscle are both good games, if you don't absolutely have to have the WWE-style realism and don't mind it being a little wilder overall. I'd play Ultimate Muscle any day over the SD games, even if the gameplay is shallow. I haven't actually owned Def Jam, but I've played it with friends and enjoyed it, and I don't like rap at all. I'm probably going to get Ultimate Muscle again next time I see it cheap. There's fewer moves and grapples overall, but it plays like--well, it plays like a 3D Slam Masters with better graphics/gameplay and multi-level special moves. The finishers and double team finishers are worth checking out if nothing else. If you're unsure about its staying power, it makes a great rental, then you can decide from there. The PS2 version blows, though. The GC Ultimate Muscle *does* have a CAW, but...it's not worth mentioning, really. It's like Warzone--you make the look (which is kind of mix and matching parts of people in the game or extra stuff), then pick a moveset. There are extra characters who didn't get the full treatment (recycled moves and finishers) who are on the Ultimate Muscle cartoon. No Monseuir Cheeks though.

The Smackdown games used to be complete crap. Now they just stink. HCTP/SvR really aren't very good. I ditto the N64 game comments, but DoR is probably the closest thing you'll get. DoR2 has been announced but it's a) probably going to be basically the same game b) will take a while before it'll be cheap to find.

Weekend Boxoffice Report, April 29-May 1
AndrewTS replied to Youth N Asia's topic in Television & Film
Aside from the dumb teens/college students getting killed, not really. It's say it has *about* the same amount to do with it as the Price version. I'd guess the reason(s) would be that the movie is over 70 years old and it's not played on TV all the time like other movies from around that era. Hardly anyone remembers Island of Lost Souls either. There's very few horror movies around that time that are still remembered and watched today except for the Universal stuff, and Nosferatu. Very few people living today have seen them back then, and it's rare for them to be seen on TV or released on DVD. Hell, I haven't seen the Mystery of the Wax Museum myself. Which edition of the Price House of Wax is it on? The UPC # would be helpful too. If I had an all-region... http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews48005.html What would you call "Vincent"? The movie seemed to indicate that he was indeed a talented sculpter, human frames or not. Of course, he was a one-dimensional lunatic first and a sculptor second, so I guess that's what you mean. -
EBs/Gamestops/Gamecrazy/GameRush kind of places I'm guessing Ripper means, but maybe he also hits pawn shops too. I got a disc-only Metal Gear Solid 3 for 8 bucks and complete (looks brand new practically) Prince of Persia: Warrior Within for 10 bucks. They charge a flat price of 10 bucks per game for X-Box/GC/PS2 games, although some older games end up sitting there. Since I got Revenge for 2 bucks and No Mercy for 3, still sounds like a gyp.

Weekend Boxoffice Report, April 29-May 1
AndrewTS replied to Youth N Asia's topic in Television & Film
Except that it wasn't called House of Wax, the Price version clearly inspired this one more, and the homages are to the Price HoW. When The Island of Dr. Moreau (96 version) came out, more people were reminded of the '77 version than the '33 "Island of Lost Souls" for obvious reasons. Despite the fact that both "remakes" sucked. Although this House of Wax didn't really have anything to do with either of the prior ones. It was faithful compared to the "Earth vs. the Giant Spider" or "Teenage Caveman" remakes, though...
