Reid's either going to end up in jail or a WWE ring--maybe both. You just know it. I swear the kid's gotta be on roids. I remember when he was just a cute little kid, and then during the Flair/Taker match--GEEZ, he certainly grew up.

Nintendogs (DS) gets a perfect score from Famitsu!

Is Miyamoto involved in this? It could be just in a supervisor role, though. I have faith in him 98% of the time, but even he makes mistakes (Yoshi's Story). From what I understand, it's not as much a game as it is a virtual pet/simulator game, something that Japan's going to like more than the US in general. However, Nintendo Power says the dogs can play sports with each other and show screenshots of one of the dogs apparently hitting a soccer ball with his head. They'll probably have to expand the # of sports for the US version, but who wouldn't be sold by a puppy doing a MONSTER JAM? -
I'd actually seen both these episodes rather recently, cuz I'd borrowed a tape off a friend, who had gotten it at a convention. CotP looked pretty good even today, but Web World's animation was a lot worse (saw 'em back to back of course). Another one on there was Only Human, where COBRA COMMANDER guest-starred. Several of the main autobots were turned human (including Optimus and Arcee, naturally--he was pretty homely looking and she was a generic blond wearing a bulky pink jumpsuit), and the baddies were riding around with the autobots' bodies committing crimes. Last one I recall was The Ultimate Weapon, which had First Aid getting a starring role for the ep and featured some of the huuuuuge TFs in action.

Fire Pro D's still an import, though. Although you can probably get a burn of it easily. Thankfully, more of DC's awesome stuff actually came Stateside compared to the Saturn's. Owning a Saturn without some method of playing imports is extremely silly.

No, it'll be more manga-esque. Maybe to pull more Sony-loving females in. However, if I hated the visuals and it was nearly as good as OOT, I'd still buy it (and then try to decide whether or not to wait for the Revolution or pick up a Cube). If the only thing keeping you from playing Wind Waker (which doesn't seem to be you, though) was the visual style, you're a damn fool. Since I've stuck by that opinion, it's only fair that I follow it myself. If you hated the tedious sailing and relatively weak (compared to OOT) dungeons in WW, more power to you.

Sony's got just about everything else beat for depth and variety of games, that except for the rare instant classics from Nintendo or the X-Box's semi-exclusives (among consoles anyway), you have pretty much all the games you need from any genre between the PS2's library and the PS1 titles. Most of the Dreamcast classics mentioned above even appear on PS2/1 in some form (don't forget Gunbird 1 as Mobile Light Force, even) or another. "Fuck all, Super NES is where it's at." Nintendo at arguably their very best (Zelda and Mario on 64 as big exceptions) + third parties like Capcom, Konami, Square, Midway (when they actually mattered), EA (when they were relatively humble), etc. is pretty hard to top. If you don't totally dig Halo, I don't see why you'd give a damn about the X-Box unless you mod that sucker.

They're still not very good, though. Plus, there are better *wrestling* games available on both the PS2 and older systems. Because nothing outside of the current console generation is worth playing today. But you almost never post except to plug the X-Box. I had all three at one point and the X-Box was the one I played least, because there weren't enough games to fit my tastes. Yet again: I don't like Sony, but I like a hell of a lot of games that you can only play on their shitty hardware.

That controller was a orthopaedic nightmare. Seriously, after playing Soul Calibur for any long amount of time with a friend of mine, we'd walk away with our hands hurting for a while. It honestly kept me from owning one. My only complaint was the L trigger, and I would have preferred a 6-button face layout (which I have always wanted to come standard with a controller since the Genesis days). Then again, I don't like any of the X-Box controllers released, when plenty of people swear by the newer ones. As far as controllers go, the PS2 one is far superior to the X-Box for just about everything, IMO, but XB has a better D-pad. The Gamecube controller feels incredible. It's perfect for the 1st party Nintendo games...but the button layout is all wrong for just about everything 3rd party. Call me crazy, but my dream controller would be a better-made N64 claw controller with bigger C buttons.

I'd heard about this game about 2 months ago, but I had yet to see any significant amount of info about it until now. Oh, and correction--I think Shantae Advance is finished now, but they hadn't gotten it released yet.

PS2 has the best variety of RPGs. Plus, with EA you'll be more or less playing the PS2 versions of sports games on XBox anyway.

it looked more like a combination cloverleaf/sharpshooter.

There's Rico too, who was always in great shape although he only started wrestling relatively late. Of course, he didn't succeed mostly because WWE put so much stock on just his age.
-
I don't think his gimmick is the problem so much as his history of injuries. WWE sees him as injury prone and doesn't want to invest any time in him anymore. Of course, there's Orton...but he's 24 and he's the future, you know. He was awesome in the Chief Morley gimmick, and could have broke out from there--but then they put him back into the Venis gimmick. Plus, him going bald really came at bad time. Angle was already an established star when his was getting worse--and of course he looks great bald. Venis doesn't exactly look like a star now, even if he shaved it all off. Yeah, it's a shame, and awfully shallow, but WWE does base decisions off things like that. I thought that was a jesting creation of this board.

Source: GamesAreFun Of course, the losses are probably from other areas of the business--from what I understand their biggest money maker is the Playstation line of products--but it's rather interesting considering that despite all that success, the company isn't as strong as you'd think. PSP as the "next iPod," though? Eh, I don't know about that...and UMD I don't see as having much appeal outside of gamers.

The XBox360 is confirmed to be backward compatible IF you get the version with the hard drive. But I guess, yeah, plans could change. PSX, 64DD, etc.
-
I thought Backwards Compatibility was confirmed? I'm psyched for this one, since I just beat the Water Temple on OOT. Plus I've started a new game on LTTP. Cubes are pretty cheap already when you consider they're a mere 60 bucks used these days. The issue isn't so much cost of the system for me as it is space.

Candace Michelle, according to the Auction page. Amy's the one who quit, right? Too bad. They were at least using her, albeit in an Alexandra York-ish role. Truth be told, I'll miss her just a little, while I can't give a damn about Orton being on the shelf. Candance I think has only been "random backstage slut." Michelle McCool, IMO, > any of the other Diva Search girls. She's got some actual athletic ability, more natural-looking beauty, and a bubbly personality that's not too over the top (unlike Crackhead Christy). Only after clicking on this thread for the second time did I notice the pun in the subtitle. UGGGGH!

While I think it shouldn't be used by itself, a very effective way to build up the villain is to have him absolutely tear up the countryside, leaving only death and destruction in his path. See: Zio, Sephiroth. I thought the effect of seeing what Seph did to that giant worm (well, you just see its disemboweled carcass) when (at that point) your whole party had a bitch of a time being one was extremely effective. That and his theme music were very well done.

Batman Begins. Who would seriously pick The Longest Yard? And Fan4's gonna suck. We already know that.

First new Family Guy episode leaked

The Tick was awesome... Andy Richter's show, too. Tick live-action was good, but wasn't as good as the cartoon, though. -
I'm not feeling the low-riding banana-huggers either. And maroon/magenta instead of red? What's with that blue? It looks like it was painted onto his body rather than it being a costume. Cain's screams "overcompensating." This one seems "eh, I'm super, but I'm not making *that* big of a deal about it."
-
YES!! NOOO!~~ I would have preferred something in between Wind Waker and OOT myself, but eh--it won't deter me. Of course, the visual style isn't exactly news to us by now. I may need buy a Gamecube again.
-
I figured it would suck because a) it was being made by an American developer b) Studio Gigante's rep. While "perfect" is never going to happen, it's a shame I've got a 5 year old wrestling game on N64 that's better in most of the important aspects than the newer ones. Oh, when you fall from a cage in that game, you don't get right back up either. EA/WWE happening and AKI then developing a new WWE game isn't happening either, because even if WWE got out of their agreement with THQ, AKI swore off doing any more games for them. So EA would assign another developer.... Man, remember how awesome WCW Mayhem was? This game doesn't even have *that* over No Mercy? Yeesh. It doesn't erase data, does it?

Nobuo worked on it as well, though. Actually only on Chrono Trigger's main theme and the "Sad" Theme (also Marle's theme, I think) did Nobuo help Mistuda. Otherwise, it was all Mitsuda. Yeah, what I meant. RPGs are, were, and will be a niche, albeit one that's grown quite a bit in popularity. Square's the only one so far to really make it their bread and butter in the U.S., but in Japan it happens a little more often. At the same time, a high quality RPG has a pretty stable, if somewhat stagnant, possible market out there. Considering how games have grown more and more cinematic, the traditional RPG is either going to stick around, or be replaced with something better. Considering that MK: Shaolin Monks, Beatdown: Fists of Vengeance, and the biggie--Rockstar's The Warriors are on their way, it seems that the industry is trying to revive the glory days of the beat 'em up genre. Now *that* was a genre overwhelmed with mediocrity and cheap cash-ins.

I'm overwhelmed with feelings of indifference.
