"Marketing wise though, that is actually true." I agree. Plenty of people are very stupid.

No--Dragon Warrior I & II are on one black GBC cartridge. Dragon Warrior III was released separately. That auction has both cartridges, so it would be convenient. Although I'm sure a pirate could whip up a multi-cart easily. Sorry for the confusion. Only a really devoted collector would go for the NES version of DW3, which is inferior overall. DW3 is one of the rarely/higher-priced NES games ont he secondary market despite that.

But that's my favorite black stereotype. Especially because I see it happen so many times during the course of my week. It's a rather harmless stereotype, and I don't think it's necessarily true, but a disproportiate number of employees and customers I tend to see at my local KFC are black. I don't think "ain't" is acceptable Nobody cares about "nucular," though. I pronounce it that way because my family, teachers, and virtually everyone in my region does.

OSIcon: That pretty much sums up why I had enjoyed FF6 so much. WoR I liked a lot, because of the vast amount of freedom to complete all the various sidequests in any order you wanted. The only thing I disliked about the setup was that there were a few items you couldn't get in the WoR, but that's a minor quibble. I immensely enjoyed playing it waaay back then without any hint books, guides, or anything--then playing it later and using the 'net to track down nearly every hidden thing. Chrono Trigger's similar approach was also a very enjoyable part of it to me. When you compare it to most of the 16-bit RPGs that came before it, the translation isn't too bad. But the praise for it is so blind that many of its fans are the direct cause of many other people responding in kind with venomous hatred. For me, I find that it suffers from much of the gameplay being a dumbed-down rehash of the previous games, the aforementioned translation (although it isn't as bad as most of the 16-bit RPGs), the "meh" materia system, and bizaarely having fewer characters who are simultaneously a hell of a lot less interesting than their ancestors. Theoretically--if FFVII were retrofitted as an SNES game (and you could do so with no gameplay sacrifices whatsover, although the graphics and sound would suffer), or if FFVI were remade with FFVII's production values--which would be the better game? I know--but Damu isn't a guy I can easily picture saying something jokingly.

You got formulas and top-notch (accurate/works well in the context of the game) formulas for some of those? I'd like a good RVD and Regal. Tajiri I would like to use, but without some of his key moves I wouldn't bother. Orton's pretty easy, especially with all the Diamond Cutters and his abandonment of the Overdrive. In fact, I made him primarily to give him all the DCers. Big Show was sent down to OVW to lose some weight at the time. You may have noticed the Big Nasty Bastard shirt, for instance. It was another case where they intended to put him in but didn't because I suppose WWE told them not to. They'd planned to put him in from the start, though, but the decision caused them to arbitrarily put Richards in Big Show's place in all storylines. I'm somewhat puzzled that they included all of the equipment and moves to make perfect No Mercy representations of guys like Gangrel (even included his profile picture), but not for Big Show. Forgot to mention that I made my own Big Show, too. Also, yeah, it's nice to be able to update the looks. BG James and The Outlaw for the NAO, a few color swaps for Waltman--but JBL looks awful with his Acolyte face texture. I gave him Gunn's (the shit-eating grin works, and many of the features are surprisingly similar). However, the body type looks off no matter what I set it to. Did he lose a lot of weight since then? Cena's a guy I plan on making, but it would be hard filling in his moveset. While the CAW mode it a bit too simple, I agree that it's fun making them. Plus, they *actually look like the wrestlers in the game*. It's annoying spending 10 minutes just making a guy's face in the SD games, and when you're all finished with the guy, because it's a CAW it still sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the other wrestlers. While in No Mercy you can make a perfect Bret Hart that looks like he was already in the game.

Shut up. Nobody here is wishing paralysis on him. Oh okay, so the guy gets a neck injury, half the thread is wishing it is VERY serious so I guess they ment that other outcome that comes from a very serious neck injury...ingrown toenail. Actually, the article stated that, at worst, it would be a concussion. So there was never any possibility as far as we were concerned of paralysis. You're the only to even bring it up, as far as I've seen.
-
Exactly. It's not that we're spending every waking moment hoping he gets injured. But if he did and couldn't wrestle again, most of us would be numb towards it. However, knowing his luck, we all knew it wasn't going to happen.

"Heh, I couldn't resist..I got No Mercy, GoldenEye, Star Fox, Mario64 and Zelda along with the system for 30 bucks..." Still need Starfox and Mario--but got F-Zero X, Wave Race, and Mario Kart 64. The only newer guys I made are Orton, Shelton and Brock. I made Trish into an actual wrestler, too. There's not too many newer WWE guys that I feel are screaming to be made. However, I rearranged the roster, dividing up by Raw and Smackdown, TNA guys, and free agents (several of which are dead, but still...it feels messed up creating a "Dead Guys" division). "anyway, can you describe the neckbreaker at all? i guess I can just use whatever is closest" One message board described it as being close to the Test Drive, but like I said, house show reports are where I'd usually see it, so I can't 100% verify it. "...same with Heidenreich, I'll just find a chokeslam that looks somewhat different than the other chokeslams in the game..." *nod* When H-Reich starts regularly using stuff other than punches and kicks and begins winning matches with a move, then we'll know. I think there was a one-handed chokebomb in, though. That might be best. "So far my CAWs are looking good, the only one that reall sucks is Rey, I had to make the maskless (egads!) Rey..." Yeah--the lack of masks is one of the biggest beefs with the game. Either maskless, Aki-Man, or Kane are your choices for Rey, basically.

Hey, I recently got another N64 and No Mercy (playing through Ocarina of Time, too), so I understand. Carlito's used multiple finishers prior to his debut--usually I've seen it listed as a "modified neckbreaker" in house show reports. I think he won the US title with a standing clothesline, though. However, I don't think CCC has an official WWE finisher yet. Hell, I don't even know what you'd put in most of his move list. I think Heidenreich's finisher is that chokeslam variation he injured Richards with, but it isn't in the game (think he slammed Richards onto his knee with it).

You people are something else. I make a conscious attempt at keeping my contributions pure and germane to the conversation, and some of you are practically baiting me to rant on those games. Come on, my rants weren't nearly that long. Besides, I can just state my opinion that people who say things like... are absolutely full of it, and leave it at that. From what I played of Disgaea, I really enjoyed, but it's more of a strategy game than a regular turn-based RPG. It's not that far different an animal, though, so throw in a recommendation from me on it, too.

If they go with 360, and the machine is square-shaped, I call bullshit. (although technically--a square is 4 right angles. Right angles are all 90 degrees. 4 x 90 = 360) Maybe it'll look like the Gamesphere.
-
The tragic part is that this is going to hurt Rosie bad, when it would have been more fitting for him to take a few bad steps, blow out both quads, and do it to such a degree where he'd never be able to wrestle again and nobody else could be blamed.
-
"Tell me a lie-uh...and say that you won't go..." I have a feeling it won't be serious at all and he won't miss any TV time. However, he'll be on TV the entire time he's recovering.
-
Damnit--why couldn't it be Edge or Orton? Guess add Rosey to the "soon to be fired" list. Also--this is eerily like the HBK concussion angle.

You're no fun. If you're able to play Game Boy Color games, there's the Dragon Warrior games. In fact, here's the original 3. Dragon Warrior 1 and 2 are pretty much direct ports, but Dragon Warrior 3's graphics are somewhat polished up, and they re-translated the text. The rating is also bumped up to Teen because a little more innuendo and other content considered too much back in the NES days was restored. I'd recommend Phantasy Star Collection, but the PS2 revamps are going to come out...uh...sometime this year. Besides--PS3 sucks and PS1 is really hard to play today with things we take for granted in modern RPGs gone missing (like having a clue what the hell we're buying in item shops, what they do, and if they're actually better than equipment we already have. I've heard a very positive consensus about Shadow Hearts Covenant.
