    Exclusive pics of Kotzenjunge

Plus, does it mean that CronoT legally changed his name to his TSM screen name? The Warrior at least actually had a good reason for it, CT. At first I thought the blond guy was supposed to be Kotz.

    The Rockers!

Hennig managed to net himself one for a while. Although that didn't last very long. Is Viscera still under contract, or just PPA?

    NES Game Test

I could smack myself for missing 38, since that's one of the few NES games I actually played myself. If they'd had shown some of the surroundings... "Blades of Steel was a hockey game? That name doesn't make me think 'hockey game', but 'ninja platformer' instead." Heh, yeah. But it was a hell of a game. I'd have probably bought it myself to play, and I have zero interest in real hockey.

    Doom the Movie

That's just making it safe to show in the Red States. Stocking up on huge guns and blowing away demons from hell wouldn't appeal to "red staters?" Come on, that's crazy talk. Besides, why the casting of a Heinz-57 minority like Rock who is just getting off playing a gay character then? The film probably would double in revenue if they'd have cast Will Smith in it though. Although he probably would want 15-25 million for it (owning and maintaining those private islands don't come cheap).

Benoit vs. Triple H on Raw tommorow night

For some reason, I think it's more of a coincidence than a conscious effort by the booking team. It's a Raw main event and will likely have a screwjob ending. Then again, if you remember the HHHatred at its heaviest, it seemed like HHH was *deliberately* picking feuds with guys who were up a big win on him, and getting them back. The Kane loss in the NecropHHHilia angle was predicted ahead of time on the basis that Kane was the last guy to "owe" HHH a job. However, coincidence or conspiracy, it doesn't seem like WWE has any reason to keep Benoit strong going into Mania, nor is it likely they have any major plans for him for a while.

    Doom the Movie

It did worse than that, actually-- Production Budget: $12 million Marketing Costs: $10 million Domestic: $10,249,719 74.2% + Overseas: $3,568,462 25.8% -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- = Worldwide: $13,818,181 It was still an 8 million dollar loss, not counting home video. Bloodrayne is budgeted at $30 million, but considering how well AitD is doing, I doubt it'll even break even.

Buy Gran Turismo 4 brand new for £0.99

The symbol, I believe, is for Great Britain Pounds. Multiply it by 1.93 to get the USD equivalent (at least the one Ebay has set). So approx $1.91.

    NES Game Test

Concerning 22: I got it "correct" when I put in Turrican. GameFAQs lists Super Turrican as getting only a European release--and it's a different game from the SNES Super Turrican. The Turrican games are virtually unheard of here in the States, because the series started on the Amiga. Over here, the Genesis got the original Turrican, a bastardized conversion of Turrican 2 in the form of "Universal Soldier", and Mega Turrican (a good game despite the wretched in-game anime-style art. Turrican 1 and 2 are okay, but their awful way of dealing with damage taken really hurts the enjoyment. You don't get hit, take damage, and bounce away from an enemy with a brief window of invincibility. When you come in contact with an enemy, every millisecond you're touching it, it saps energy, and there's no bounce-back. So a tiny, weak enemy could sap nearly all your life if it is in contact with you for a few seconds. Very lame. Thankfully they fixed that for Mega/SNES Super 1 and 2--dunno about the NES ST. The SNES got Super Turrican and Super Turrican 2. Two very good games, but the creator of the original games wasn't involved in it. You can read up on the series' history here: http://www.classicgaming.com/reviews/turrican/turrican.htm I'd recommend trying the SNES Turricans or, best of all, Mega Turrican for Genesis if you find one of them used. Hella fun.

    Doom the Movie

Oh, and this is rather scary--I checked out the money made by some of these other VG moves on BoxOfficeMojo... Street Fighter: The Movie was actually a profitable film. A production budget of 35 million bucks (not including marketing) and it grossed worldwide nearly 100 million dollars. Mortal Kombat grossed, worldwide, 122 million dollars, on a budget smaller than SF I believe. Resident Evil? Just over 100 million dollars. Resident Evil Apocalypse-- nearly 130 million dollars!! So *this* is why these movies continue being made. Sure, Boll's movies, Mario, Double Dragon, etc are bombs, but studios figure a big-name license, like Doom, will rake in the cash.

An idea for Foley at Mania 21

Yeah, I was, and that could be part of it. However, Foley's post-retirement relationship with WWE had grown more and more transparent, and I had only really begun to be revulsed by his WWE involvement for the Orton feud. I thought it was a big enough joke already for him to indirectly for him to give HHH-Nash his stamp of approval and doing more to *properly* build the feud than Nash did (the beatdown he took prior to the Cell match). However, aside from that he'd keep showing up for plugs, he did the feud with Orton. I blame Foley for Orton getting enough heat to stay on the radar long enough for this Taker/Orton thing to even be an issue today. Plus, the way so much attention and airtime focused on that feud was focused on him--it really highlighted how deficient Orton was (at that time, although he's not much better now). On top of that, the God-awful segment he did with Hassan and Daivari sealed it--I never, ever want to see Foley involved in WWE TV again. So, for being such a huge publicity whore promoting an HHH-Nash match thus helping it get some extra buys AND having no shame for it giving Orton heat and putting him over being involved in that stupid segment with Hassan/Daivari --fuck Foley. I recall that there were a few converts during the Orton feud as well, because some of his segments were downright irritating during that as well. It's arguably also Foley's fault that HHH is where he is right now, but he had no way of knowing that he was creating a monster back then. However, it may have just ended up being Taker who would put HHH over at Mania, ending the streak, instead, so it was probably inevitable.

    Doom the Movie

Come on, it's Doom--easily one of the top 5 most influencial games (as far as mainstream attention) of the past 15 years. Sounds more like something up PWSA's alley. At least his movies tend to pull in a respectable profit. Non-gamers likely never heard of the AitD or HotD games, but Doom? Of course they have. Mainstreamers have heard of Myst... doesn't mean that a Myst movie will be worth a shit or make any money. Super Mario Bros. and Street Fighter both proved that one. That's a good reason why they shouldn't make VG movies, but my point was that getting Boll to do a film pretty much guarantees failure. Most of the bigger-name video game films are handed to people who couldn't churn out a decent film anyway, but at least they haven't delivered bomb after bomb already.

    Orton's Immaturity

Orton's a "potential star" in the eyes of Vince & Co. alone. He's getting more and more chances, and blowing them. I see ending the Taker streak as something to help get over somebody he's getting a big push, busting his BUTT, but hasn't been quite validated in the fans eyes as a threat. It should be saved for somebody like HHH back when he had his feud with Foley. Not the goofy-looking frat boy who wishes he could get over as well as Batista is. He should have that opportunity revoked because he's all wrong for being a big star, not because he's a prank-pulling little shit backstage. However, VIAM so he'll probably get the win, but I'm rooting for Taker to pull the political strings. I've yet to hear a compelling "why?" for putting him over Taker. Obviously the "Legend Killer" schtick is the main kayfabe/storyline reason for doing so, but as a face it's completely illogical. I don't think too many people are going to cheer a less-established guy (with a lingering midcarder stigma about him) for going over a perpetually-over legend who could get massive pops for passing wind. Considering how protected Taker is, only a monster heel could conceivably beat him and get the right kind of heat. Randy Ortvia wouldn't get the boost in heat from a win over Taker that he did *as a heel* for beating Foley in a rather well-booked and lengthy feud. They've got three weeks to try to build up Randy as a threat to Taker and make a match people want to see, but haven't done anything except announce that the match is going to happen and have Orton attack Bischoff, virtually guaranteeing he's going to be a cheap-heat grabbing tweener at best going into it. Most of the people who pay for the tickets seem to like him. Of course, you could say I'm against the WM win because I'm an Orton hater who doesn't want to see him get ahead at all in WWE--well, guilty as charged.

    Orton's Immaturity

It establishes Orton as a true next generation's star. I don't understand why it's so terrible of them to even consider putting Orton over the deadman. Because Orton sucks and will never be another Austin, Rock--hell, not even an HBK or Savage. It's a waste of everybody's time.

    Doom the Movie

Non-native director? Check. Little experience as a lead director? Check. A screenwriter with no previous experience on a real movie? Check. A cast filled with nobodies and/or hasbeens? Check!! Rock should brush up on his boot-up-ass skills on his agent. However, Alone in the Dark will probably still be the worst and funniest film of 2005 AitD probably was closer to a Doom movie than the Doom movie will be.

High production values = Greater cost

Half.com isn't that great, really. I mostly sell cheaper stuff on half.com, or stuff that I don't think too many people are going to be searching for on Ebay. That hefty 15% commission on half isn't too nice, plus most of the shipping allowance goes towards their "protection policy" and you can't set it up for insurance or anything. On Ebay you can charge large, bloated shipping allowances to help offset the listing fees add/require insurance. Cheap, lower demand stuff - half More expensive, higher demand stuff - Ebay
