Just like Slam '02, eh?

Good point, but assuming somehow they successfully turn Eddy heel, it does open up some fresh match opportunities. Cena apparently is done filming his movie, so he's just gotta be at Mania. I'd think it would be a natural to have him gun for the title, but if not, Cena/Eddy is still a strong match. It's the most "Mania-worthy" match I see involving a vet and a younger guy, and it should draw, in theory. Of course, they'd likely want to save that for a SD PPV, since they might figure it would need it more than Mania, unless they'd do a rematch. I had heard Angle/Taker was planned instead, though. While HBK in another match might give us more good Mania matches, we've never seen HBK/Angle, so that's more interesting than HBK facing somebody on Raw. If it happens, shouldn't be hard to top those last big Mania cross-motion matches...Taker/Kane and Goldberg/Lesnar.

I would assumed it would have caused some paralysis, but nothing of the sort seems to be mentioned... So, that being said, I feel no guilt laughing my ass off.

I agree, because most of the "big matches" that WWE has in mind are frankly going to be crap feuds crapped off with crap matches. HHH-Orton looks to be off, though, so maybe it's going to look vastly different than what we expect. There could be an interesting undercard, but we won't know until maybe 2 weeks before the show. I expect 2-3 good matches at least at the bare minimum. With HHH vs Orton just happening on Raw last Monday I woudn't be surprised at all if the match doesn't happen at WrestleMania now since Orton proved he could pin and beat HHH even if HBK inserted himself as Ref. Yeah, it looks like they've lost faith in Orton for Mania now, and while Batista *could* be inserted in that slot, they haven't built him that way just yet. He's worlds better than Orton is basically every category, so if they wanna push a "new" guy into that slot, Batista's fine. I don't know what they'll do with Eddy, but after that post-match tension they had on SD I wouldn't be shocked to see them have a match at the Rumble or something. However, Rey just beating him two times straight doesn't seem like a good enough basis for a feud, and frankly--turning Eddy heel? Sounds stupid, and it honestly can't last for very long. The smilin' Lie, Cheat, Steal Eddy was getting a little stale, though, so maybe it's a blessing in disguise.

An HHH-Orton or HHH-Batista match for one title and *any* match with JBL defending the SD title are two hella-weak matches for WRESTLE-F***ING-MANIA no matter how you look at it.

Like most Japanese companies, Capcom doesn't seem to like the X-Box all that much. The X-Box doesn't sell all that well in Japan. While it is short-sighted to ignore that the X-Box has a strong US market, it seems Capcom only wants to invest in games that will sell on both sides of the Pacific, but I do see your point--porting to X-Box would be vastly easier than re-doing aspects of the game for PS2, but they figure the PS2 version, overall, will sell 10 times better.

Well, the reason they aborted it was that they'd feared that WCW had already killed off their own audience and wasn't coming back. At no point did the WCW fans begin watching WWF/E en-masse--rather, as WCW was dying off, so did its fanbase. They didn't convert to WWE fans. Perhaps it's just that their fanbase was much heavier in casual fans than WWE's. WWE has a strong core fanbase that hasn't gone away (at least based on the TV ratings from 98 or so onward). WWE *could* and *should* have tried to bring them back, but they threw out a poor rest-hold fest between two guys WWE fans weren't familiar with, and used that as "evidence" it simply wasn't going to work, and decided "okay, WCW's employees are now the WWE's bitches, let's job them out after a long, half-assed angle where we make them look second-rate the whole time through." And yeah, considering how Ebersol and NBC were burnt on the XFL, McMahon and WWE came out smelling like a rose.

BTW, how many times did Brock actually use the Double Powerbomb after the Hardyz squasheroo? I think he did once in a while, but after the Rock match I'm drawing a blank on any other times. Mole in...what kind of bar?

HBK vs. Angle would rule. NO-SELL-A-MANIA!!! Thrill as Angle kicks out of 6 Superkicks, HBK kicks out of 4 Angle Slams and escapes 2 anklelocks, Angle blows the moonsault only to get HBK's, and of course the thrilling conclusion where Kurt pounds on HBK 10 minutes straight but HBK KIPPUPS!~ to bust out Superkick #7 for the 3!~ I kid, I kid--I'd still wanna see it, but we'd be seeing far more of a sportz entertainment match than a technical match. I hope Brock appears post match and double powerbombs the crap out of Shawn, though.

More succintly: "everything about the Draft Lottery." 3.--not a strong midcard either with interesting feuds, but the 1995 WWF midcard, where he was wrestling clowns, accountants, dentists, and the occasional pirate from Quebec. 4.--ratings seem to back this up, because it took a hell of a long time to recover viewers the Hogan push alienated, but there were worse ones. 5.--Lawler may suck, but seems just like a personal opinion thing here, since I doubt that decision had any impact on business as a whole.

If you actually would use it like one to play the game, I'd get it. Imagine if those mo-cap sword-fighting games some arcades have allowed you to hold a chainsaw in one hand and a shotgun in the other and mow down hoards of the undead. Yeah, but if between the two systems... Being "game of the year" on a console isn't so great if there's only 5 really good games released in the whole year. I love Nintendo, but the GC 3rd party support is going (well, went) down the crapper almost as quickly as Nokia's handheld.

The ones you haven't heard of are likely from different regions of the US, and plenty of others (especially the Irish ones) probably are from other countries.

Gwi Lo - Ghost people. I think gaijin was derived from this Juk Sing - Hollow Bamboo. The expression is meant to mean "caught between two cultures," and is used in a derogatory manner similar to "Banana" FOB - acronym meaning "Fresh Off the Boat". Similar to the acronym for Without Papers. I think now is a good time to link to...THE RACIAL SLUR DATABASE!!! http://www.rsdb.org/ I like "bruised banana" and "lepracoon" the most, myself.

I've purchased all three games and I've been currently trying to get *everything* in the first Ratchet and Clank. The gold weapons will still be left after my second time through the game, but once you beat it the first time you can "new game +" your current game. Just got the RYNO (Rip You a New One). I've got something like 37/40 gold bolts on R&C and most of the skill points. I'm doing them in order because the data for previous games can be used for bonus material in the latter games. For example, weapons in the first game can be used on the second, weapons on the second game can be used on the third, and your Gadgetron discount on the first game can be used on the third. Because of my doing them in order, I've hardly nicked UYA, but so far I've completed a couple of intense battles (love your allies calling you sarge...) as I kicked tons of alien ass with my light staff (available via code). Renegade: Is the Suck Cannon useful on UYA? It was good in the first game because you'd commonly face swarms of small enemies and you could take them out easily with it, plus it would collect bolts that were a bit further away. I can't wait to see what Insomniac does next--they've not made a bad game yet. It's cool to see that apparently all the PS2 Power Platformer peeps are cool with each other--Insomniac licensed an engine from Naughty Dog for the first game (plus they have homages like the crates/exploding crates and the picture of J&D in Ratchet's house on the 2nd game), and you can unlock a Sly 2 demo on Going Commando.

What's the word? There's more than one demeaning term for Asians, ya know. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0290002/fullcredits Apparently the character wasn't even shown, though...*shrug*

Hah! ...but Roberts did have a snake again during his 96 run, I'm fairly sure.

I'm calling gimmick infringement. Matt's the male Yuna Firerose around here.

Predictions: none of us buy this PPV, 2 or 3 of us beg for a webcast password, and the rest of us forget about this lousy PPV. ELIMINATION CHAMBER, WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP Triple H vs. Randy Orton vs. Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho vs. Edge vs. Batista Winner: HHH, turns on Batista somehow, and somehow we end up with HBK/HHH XXXII for the Rumble. WWE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP Shelton Benjamin © vs. Maven Winner: Shelton, because even WWE isn't stupid enough to put the IC title on Maven so soon. WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP William Regal & Eugene © vs. Christian & Tyson Tomko Winner: Champs retain. WWE WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP Lita © vs. Trish Stratus Winner: Lita Kane vs. Gene Snitsky Winner: Kane, because he'd look like an absolute and utter pussy if he lost, and we know the only ones who get to make Kane look like a complete and utter pussy are Taker, HHH, and people named McMahon. Jerry "The King" Lawler (w/Jim Ross) vs. Muhammed Hassan (w/Daivairi (can't remember the first name)) Winner: Lawler gets cheap win after pulling out Memphis heel tricks, post-match beatdown.

Benoit is currently residing in Atlanta and Conway's American, though... Isn't Edge living in LA or Tampa these days?

That's giving me the idea for a B-movie where Israel and Palestine solve their problems by each creating their own man-made golems and pitting them against each other to the death. Didn't Jason under his other name (INXS/#1 Dubya Disciple) get pwned about 20,000 times on this same topic already, though?

But compared to plenty of other GBA games, as well as Super Metroid/Prime, it's painfully mediocre. It isn't as lame as Fusion, and it's 2 games in one, but hardly the best GBA game. It's currently winning the GBA game of the year poll on GameFAQs. Fools. My personal vote would go to either one of the latter CVs on GBA (I'm one of the few that actually prefers Harmony to Aria, though), or Astroboy. Honorable mention to Wario Ware, Inc., Mario vs. DK, and DKC2 was a great game on SNES so I'd assume it still is on GBA.

Weekend boxoffice report Dec 31 - Jan 2
AndrewTS replied to Youth N Asia's topic in Television & Film
I'll probably see Aviator this weekend. I refuse to see a movie with Natalie Portman in it, though. Sadly, Million Dollar Baby isn't playing near me. -
The Super Joy is the pirate NES emulation thing, not the Plug n' Play. It's lame to hear that the official Namco products are worthless pieces of crap, though. Come on, Namco, quit milking it--give us a PS2 Ultimate Namco Museum with all of the Namco Museum series games all on one disc, including the Japan-only one (Encore) with Rolling Thunder.

Raw: To make fun of. Some wrestlers I actually like are on Raw. The rare good match. On SD, when I do watch it's boredom or habit. Last night was so damn boring, uneventful, unentertaining, and pointless that I couldn't bear to give a damn anymore and switched it off. It's unwatchable.
