I swear that about 90% of PC gamepads today are shameless PS1 knockoffs. They even will use Square, Circle, Triangle, X for the buttons. My cheap-o one works, but I much prefer my cuz' Gravis, so look for something from them for your best bet.

Until somebody's gotten a chance to play the game... MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH! Nothing makes me think Team Gigante has a clue how to program a good wrestling game. Yeah, it *looks* good, but the Raws weren't so shoddy in the graphics area as well.

Moore Laying Low, wants Dems to run a celeb
AndrewTS replied to AndrewTS's topic in Television & Film
Yup, probably getting ready for a six-day Thanksgiving binge. Those logs they're referring to are probably peanut brittle. -
Hell, I don't, and I'm far older. The only problem is that the PS2 version of VJ isn't out yet--it's supposed to be coming out on Dec. 7, though. Oh, after I'd gotten Sonic Jam I gave my Genesis Sonic games to some girls I'd regularly babysit, and they loved them, so Sonic Mega Collection Plus might be a good choice too.

in response to Flik's post: Oh, I understand. I'm just saying that 100/10 point scales are overused and used poorly, and often a game will get "panned" in that range if a reviewer doesn't think it is "innovative" enough (or some BS like that). Plus, I've seen games that were allegedly "reviewed" where if you read the review, and played the game, you're wondering what the hell the reviewer is talking about. Of course, as a site I frequent mentioned, game reviewers aren't journalists, they're "moderately independent PR reps." Everyone knows certain companies have certain sites/magazines in their pockets, and when *half* of a magazine is ads, it's obvious just what the priority of the magazines are. Hell, GMR and Game Informer both are tied in with major video game speciality chains. I think the Driv3r debacle is well known by now.

Letting a face win a match in their hometown? That's crazy talk.

He might not get a chance to any other time. What would they do in retaliation? They're all dead. Lousy show, as expected. Punishment to WWE is giving Holly more fresh meat and having him job in a match no one will see?

Well, around here that's not totally unheard of. Then again, if we go by that, blatant fanservice games wouldn't be considered offensive either. Girls seem to like RPGs a lot, but they might prefer Square's FF games over actual good RPGs. Of course, Kingdom Hearts could be a good choice as well.

"I've compiled a list from what you guys have posted, and help from a few friends, any games on here I SHOULD NOT get?" I think Final Fantasy Tactics Advance sucks. I liked FFT, but... 1) The battle system is basically the same, but reeeeeally slow and tedious, which doesn't lend itself well to a portable game. 2) The Judges are an annoying aspect of the game, laying down vague, arbitrary rules to screw you over. 3) The story sucks and you have to wade through tons of cutscenes to get anywhere. 4) The main characters are wimps and losers. They're a bunch of crybaby FF geeks who you want to see die. Basically, Square is making fun of their own fanbase. Of course, this is what I put up with in the first hour or 4 of play, but it was the most tedious, hellish gaming experience of my life next to Xenosaga, so I quit a few battles after the Moogle wanted to name our party after testicles. Other recommendations: Ninja Five-O: Action game with a bad-ass ninja who also has a Turrican-style grappling hook. Hard to find, though. Double Dragon Advance: Best version of the classic beat 'em EVAR! If you're into the genre, skip Final Fight One and River City Ransom EX and go for this. AVOID Guardian Heroes Advance, though. Astro Boy; The Omega Factor: Platformer/beat 'em up where you blast the hell out of things, wallop waves of baddies and send them crashing into each other like Dominoes, and fight big ass bosses. I wish it was as good as Gunstar Heroes (it sadly ain't), but still is awesome. AVOID Guardian Heroes Advance, though. Konami Krazy Racers: Mario Kart, but with Konami characters, basically. Either this or the GBA Mario Kart is a good pick up.

Dude, The Simpsons have already done everything! Yeah, it was a much, much better show then we've seen in quite a while, I thought.

Somebody answer me a question Ebert posed: what does Krabby's and the Chum Bucket serve if not crab meat and fish guts? Are they all cannibals?

Barron is Frankie Muniz' twin brother?

I think he really wanted to show us his new sig. Plus, he seems to like starting topics for the hell of it, regardless of whether or not it's intended to spark discussion. This topic screams General Chat.

*metr0's sig...* I'm worried Vince will have the bright idea to have Holly "accidentally" punch as a fan and think he'll get over a "loose cannon" or something... Silly Vince, Holly will never get over as anything.

A combination of that and not really digging the genre though... I'd not have shown the slightest interest in Prime if it were a "true" FPS. Who the hell let this thread metamorphasize into a real topic?

So can we tell who the future of the WWE is yet?
AndrewTS replied to The Mandarin's topic in The WWE Folder
Cena's wrestling more limited? Orton's matches are often boring as hell, but quality-wise they're usually better than Cena's. However, Cena overall, I'd say. If Orton "makes it" he'll just be a "transitional" main eventer. He's not going to be leading a new "boom period." He's not going to set the world on fire. He's not going to sell boatloads of merchandise. He's not going to be a strong draw by himself, and his legacy will pale in comparison to guys like Rock, Austin, etc. That is, in my opinion. This is, assuming, that Cena works hard on his character and WWE gives the big push that he'll need to be cemented as a main event. Cena right now seems too midcard, and I don't think his character, in this form, will be the Cena that eventually becomes a top star. -
That's the main issue with the game for me. For PC gamers and long-time FPS-heads, it's hardly an issue. For me, it's very unintuitive. So I'm not going to bash the game, but I'm not into it either. I'm not even planning on keeping my X-Box for much longer. Yeah, it's got a ton of great titles, but if your tastes lean more towards old-school-style games, there's little to be excited about. Of course, the new Ninja Gaiden 2 surely is coming up, and yes, the X-Box versions of multi-console titles are usually the best. However, it's a shame when my eyes scan over a huge rack of X-Box games, and all but a select few make me go "meh." Maybe I'll pick up the X-Box classics if I opt to get the supposed-to-be-backwards-compatible-X-Box-Next. Probably most "revolutionary" game titles have their roots in drug use. Miyamoto is obviously a 'shroomer, Kojima is probably on amphetamines or crack, Katamari Damacy seems like something dreamed up on LSD, DDR probably is rooted in X use, and Peter Molyneux probably is hopped up on goofballs.

Explain the "depth" you mean, because I rarely see professional reviews give me anything substantial. Even the positive reviews are like "well, it's not a big step up from MGS2 like MGS2 was a big step up (gameplay-wise, not in any other area) from MGS" and "but the last part of the game is really awesome!" With people finishing it already it sounds like a great pickup for a GH title down the line, but it doesn't seem all that pressing to get now, IMO. Yes, I'm a cheap, cynical bastard.

This makes the least sense of anything I've read here. "I don't like it, so only one thing can change that... more of it." Heh, it does seem so, doesn't it? However, I get free rental coupons a lot, and I'd rather view a movie at home than amongst a bunch of brats, parents, and smelly potheads.

WP: It's clear to me that you don't quite get my beefs with Solid 2 and Hideo, and you're going into a hysterical rant over nothing. But hey, rant away. Nope, I'm simply saying that after Solid 2, a game which Kojima was far more concerned about using to express certain themes rather than he was about actually making a decent, coherent story with interesting characters to actually get it across, I'm highly skeptical about Solid 3. This is especially due to the fact that reviews, comments, info, etc seem to indicate that camera issues and gameplay may not quite be up to snuff and that the game itself isn't all that mind-blowing. However, I'm not plunking down $50 bucks to give it a chance. Plus, my view on Hideo is extremely soured, and not just over MGS2. He's some one who I had once viewed as a game producer who had, for the most part, similar priorities in making games had become another "interactivist" in my eyes. I'd hoped he'd regressed on that, but I've yet to hear anything to the contrary. It was a great idea to go backwards with Solid 3, because that Solid 2 mess was so damn stupid he'd pretty much painted himself into a corner. Considering I have Penny Arcade bookmarked and visit it frequently, and I don't have that view towards the series at all, no. I'm just convinced that Hideo seems to think the Metal Gear games *need* him, and they don't. Rather, he needs the Metal Gear games. I'd not mind seeing them taken in a different direction, although I know that Metal Gear is his baby and he's not going to be leaving them until he wants to. I thought we'd banned GreatOne, but here's a silly out-of-context wrestling analogy in all its glory. Game Boy *Color*, and yes, it was called Metal Gear Solid, but it was more like a old Metal Gear game with some of the newer elements added. It was titled Metal Gear: Ghost Babel in Japan. Damn fine game, in fact. I don't know the point you wanted to make with that was though, since that game's over 4 years old. I'll of course reserve judgment until I play, but it is rather frustratating when some one who played it is gushing over the graphics and so forth, but when I ask about gameplay, I get nothing at all in response. Considering plans changed, Sony has not released any clear public information about PS3, and Sony will only be "announcing" major details on the PS3 in 2005, it's still a safe bet.

Ebert mentioned that the basic plot is basically re-used from "Good Burger."

"Many fans were surprised to see three familiar faces show up on SmackDown! this week." Yeah, "familiar" "faces", my ass.

http://www.imdb.com I'm not holdin' your hand through the rest of the process. Don't like the show either, but may rent down the line.

Yeah, "Jyushin" is so damn hard to pronounce correctly. I'm sure more WWF/E fans have heard of Lief Cassidy than Lyger.
