First image from Mortal Kombat Deception!

Anya: do you "fight" Kung Lao anywhere? I've only found the "do a 10 hit combo" thing. Thanks for the tip--now I got all the koffins unlocked except for a few gold koin koffins of useless krap. Oh, and *just* discovered that there were two deathtraps in the Golden Desert. Niiice.

I only need one more key--JO. Every FAQ says "F1, Edenia" and some say "on Tuesday, 4 PM." However, it's not showing up for me. That location is either outside the wall or inside the walls of the palace, but nothing is showing up for me. They wrong, or what? UYI: Oh, and Kung Lao does make a cameo--he's unfortunately just a training dummy. You perform a 10 hit combo on him without him actually fighting you, then you've got to go find Kai in Outworld. That's it. Too bad.

Taking Cosplay to a new level...

Lord knows Anya can't afford it... I was going to d/l, but sounds like it is Final Fantasy-related, thus not worth the trouble.

    KOF Maximum Impact

Ren: Wait a week or so and check Ebay. I see the 3D was used mainly to give people alt costumes without making new sprites. Athena in a schoolgirl outfit! Mai with short hair and a short skirt! MotW Terry! Catgirl Mignon! Raver Punk Iori! Metal Slug Yuri! The new character designs are really lame. We have Gay Capoeira Cowboy, Mignon who is either a magical girl or a catgirl depending on the costume and seems to be Bao's big sister (with her gignormous projectiles), and the blond bimbo can't seem to decide which DoA chick she's a blatant rip off of. It's fun, despite all my bitching about it, but Stylish Arts and the basic combo system needs completely overhauled. You can decimate some one in the corner with them getting little chance for escape, etc. I personally want to see a perfect 2D/3D fusion of gameplay, but it's not been done quite right yet. It seems every fighting series needs its' "3D for the sake of being 3D" entry: SF EX MK 4 Wild Ambition SamSho64 now KoF MI There is a team play mode, but it's not a part of story mode. *shrug* An SNK boss...that resurrects too?!?! *head goes boom*

Vote for Stevie for Taboo Tuesday

Did they ever actually say "voting ends at midnight?" Between that and compaigning after most people voted, could they have at least TRIED to make it look legitimate?

I think the hope was there for the gameplay to be better than the 3D MKs. Did I mention I beat the boss, Duke, 2 rounds STRAIGHT?! That is NOT an SNK boss. Sure, he hit me with something that ate 1/3 of my life bar, but for an SNK boss, a THROW should do that kind of damage.

    Konami Preview Disc

I don't know how long this has been out--after all, two of the games on here already are out--however, I'm glad to see Konami looking to churn out some more good games. For those who haven't check it out, here's the run down... Playable Demos TMNT 2: Battle Nexus -- Looks to be a lot better than the first game, and the new zoomed-out perspective allows for easy use of all four turtles for multi-player games. Less extremely repetitive voice samples, feels rather old school. Promising, but the demo was really short and didn't give you much to do. Silent Hill 4 -- no need to recap this. Suikoden IV -- the lowlight of the disc. Looks good, but the loading here and the gameplay showing me nothing I haven't seen in, say, 10 year old RPGs leave me completely disinterested. Ys: The Ark of Napishtim -- This is more like it. Seems like a remake of what I heard was a really good action/RPG series. The perspective, art style, sound effects--all with lots of old school overtones. This could have been a VERY highly polished PS1 game with the pixels smoothed out, though. May be off-putting for some because of that, but I'd give the full game a shot. King Arthur -- I'd be interesting to see the final game. Combat isn't as precise as it should be, although part of that was due to my horse taking damage. Basically, you control one character and I presume the rest of your folks are cpu controlled. Real-time combat that reminds me of the last Dynasty Warriors on PS2. Graphics could be brightened up a bit, as it's kind of dull and ugly right now. However, charging into a group of enemies and hacking them with your sword, switching to your bow and taking out far off enemies, trampling guys with your horse--all quite fine. Fighting on foot isn't too bad either, but the enemies constantly respawn, which makes hacking through a barrier/kicking down a gate a bit tedious. Time and polish could do wonders for this one, but for now I'm mixed on it. Neo Contra -- Now that's a lot better. No need to choose between being locked in one position and firing or being unable to move and firing in various directions--both options are available to you at all times. You're thrown right into the action riding a robot dino, and have access to missiles that lock onto your target (sweep the character across the screen near the target while holding down, release button when ready to fire). Looks good on all fronts so far. Trailers Phantom Crash 2050 -- it has mech suits (think Patlabor or the ones in Appleseed). That's about all I can tell. No gameplay footage shown. Gradius V -- It's already out. Really good, but really hard. 2D shooter with swank CG graphics. DDR Extreme/Karaoke Revolution Volume 3 -- I don't care about either of these, but those who do probably know what to expect. Nano Breaker -- Iga (producer of the Castlevania games since SotN, aside from the N64) is the producer of this project and his involvement is the main reason the title has been granted as much buzz as it has. Very little gameplay footage shown, but what is shown makes LoI look weak. Promising, but probably very early still. Rumble Roses -- Why is the logo a ripoff of the "new" wCw logo? Anyway, presentation is very much DoA Wrestling. Anime-style character designs, gratutious bouncing and booty shots, and maybe less than 6 seconds of actual gameplay footage shown. Gameplay should be decent, but it's absolutely shameless as it is. Characters shown so far are a cowgirl who seems to be mimicking Nash, a Japanese chick who seems to be pulling job duty, and...well, combine Affleck's Daredevil with Halle's Catwoman, and you have the devil-girl character in the trailer.

    Favorite Animated shows

Pizza Cats and Gargoyles both slipped my mind. I like them but I never was a morning person so I almost never saw them, plus the Gargoyles eps on Toon Disney are the inferior later eps. We're getting a box set for Gargoyles starting with the first eps. Dunno if it is all of season 1 or just a dozen or so ep, though. Critic and Duckman I also forgot about. I watched those ALL THE TIME on Sunday nights on Comedy Central, even seeing the same eps about a dozen times. Freakazoid was pretty decent, as was EWJ, but neither of them were great to me. "Hellsing" Borrowed the DVDs, and loving it. I haven't seen much, when memories of that awful Van Helsing movie creep into my mind, I check it out.

    KOF Maximum Impact

I rented it and I disagree. Not at all. I like the graphics a hell of a lot. Doesn't look like EX3. EX3 looked like EX2 which looked like EX1. The game has 2D-ish character designs with a gourad-shaded look, but with cartoony, bright colors. It looks great in motion. The characters could use more detail but it's not an issue. There's some great lighting effects on some stages that would work great if they weren't so damn dark. The stages themselves look very cool, although most of them could use better effects. I don't think graphics are the game's problem. ...gameplay, however, is. I want to see a well-done hybrid of 2D and 3D gameplay. The Soul games have the quick feel down if not the moves exactly. However, when I'm Power-Dunking Ryo in the ass over and over for 20+ hits--well, that game surely isn't it. It looked promising for the first few minutes, but I don't want a gay niche porn simulator. Hey, there's the gay cowboy--in 3-D! I swear my dog could lay on the controller and do a 7 hit combo. Maybe an infinite if he was chewing on a rawhide and it was under his front legs. There's no post-round win pose, just one end-match one. So the characters don't freeze after the KO. You can keep pummeling the KOed fighter over and over like that trick with the Vs. fighters. This is KOF--where the hell are the TEAMS in this thing? The voices are almost as bad as Toshinden. Mai: JAPAN'S THE BEST!~ Iori: Aaah'll entatain. (during super) PLAAAAYTAHME'S OH-VAH!!! Yes, they actually TRANSLATED THE JAPANESE MOVE NAMES! Imagine hearing Ryu say "RAISING DRAH-GUN FEEST!" or "DRAH-GUN-PAHNCH!" while doing the Shoryuken. Plus, you want to kill your characters for commenting while side-stepping or rolling: "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Surprisingly, Terry sounds much better here than he usually does, either replicating the way he used to speak in other games or sounding a bit clearer. He's an exception, though. Since when did Kim have a sex change? Is that in an earlier KoF that I missed? 2D in general, actually. They want them bargain-priced or compiled and *maybe* they'll greenlight it. So X-Boxers get one great Metal Slug and PS2 gets two crappy ones in a compilation. Yay. Although I don't think anyone can really side with SNK for charging full price for Chaos.
  11. Plenty of guys like lesbian porn. I don't get it, but... *shrug*
  12. Julius Barnes is STILL looking for a job? Come on, GET THIS N***A A JOB ALREADY!!
  13. Actually, that's a bold prediction for a Raw match, especially if this were the main event.
  14. JR: *calls the match* Vince: *d/ls pr0n* King: *fap, fap*
  15. Campaigning after polls are already open and most people have probably voted = REVOLUTIONARY!~
  16. Vince: Now suck my dick!
  17. Flaw in this logic: probably most of the people watching Raw already voted.
  18. This is SO REVOLUTIONARY that if you miss voting you may as well kill yourself.
  19. Conveniently, results aren't shown. Big shock there.
  20. King isn't used to typing with two hands.
  21. You weren't "born WWE" you dipshit. You aren't 2 years old.
  22. you delete cookies? I'd try, but it isn't worth it.
  23. I'll vote, just to try to crash their site.
  24. Huh? During the Boot Rewind of the Week or whatever it was, it sounded like a remix of Crush's old theme.
