"When qas it illegal to start dissing Michael Jackson??!?!?!?" Well, you see--some people still consider him to be black...

Well, this had LONG been the unofficial OAO MK thread, ever since people had chimed in with bits and pieces of MK nostalgia, and Anya had been extremely willing to answer on their behalf. The poster thing stumps me and I don't think Anya knows, either, though. Heheh, yeah. The video bios were quite cool as well. Those and the "classic" characters in MK Trilogy sort of let you know which of the MK actors they're still on good terms with. The Johnny Cage thing confused me a bit, because I'd think Carlos and Dan would be related and probably they'd have been friends with the crew. However, I saw a rumor on a MB... on a related note... (from: http://www.the-nextlevel.com/board/showthr...t=27655&page=4) Does that all sound about right to you, Anya? I guess these versions (MKD MK1, MAT2 MKII) won't thrill them either. You know, after the success of the first MK how could they not figure out that there were going to be home ports? So, when a movie is put on video, does that mean all the actors involved get paid *again*? I'm trying to figure out the precedent. http://drkbish.darquecathedral.org/images/MKDA-Tao-Feng.jpg *snerk* The mentions of "Pale Lotus" and "Black Mantis" sects in Tao Feng scream ripoff to me.

Midway vs. Capcom--now there's a game people would wanna see. "Hmm...Kabuki Joe...how should we do his sprite?" "Do the sprite? We don't 'do' new sprites these days. Take that Kubuki guy from Samurai Showdown and retouch him a bit." "OOOOH!~" Ditto. HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE IT!! The best part about it is the FMVs, and I suppose the N64 one didn't even have that. Although I had fun decimating a friend today at MK1 and showing him the ropes of Deception. Are there any video bios like the ones on the bonus disc for newer fighters like Li Mei? Only a select few newer characters (Shujinko) get them. Too bad they didn't get comments from folks like Lia Montangelo (sp?) or Shao Kahn himself (Baby-Face Brian Glynn).

"MAT 3 needs: UMK3, MK4, Primal Rage II, War Gods, Mace The Dark Age, Rush: The Rock, Rush 2049, Artic Thunder, Hydro Thunder, Carnevil, and The Grid." ...with a few exceptions, that'd be kinda lame. You forgot STUN RUNNER, though. As much as Carnevil would be cool to play at home, it seems Midway has kinda shot their wads with the Treasures thing unless they forked out for the ridiculous licensing fees to use stuff like NBA Jam/NFL Blitz in a compilation. War Gods...*cough*

The OAO third and FINAL Presidential Debate Thread
AndrewTS replied to BUTT's topic in Current Events
Kerry: What do you mean? The Swift Boat ads were funded by Bush! Tonight's debate==geez, they basically took the last debates, put them in a blender, and blew out that chunk. I thought it was about domestic issues, but it didn't stay that way, and both guys were basically on cruise control. Bush seemed to really come out a loser on a lot of the questions, though, IMO. -
MK Gold isn't an arcade game, though, as far as I know. So if we got a MAT3, they'd probably put MK4 in...and likely UMK3 (which would make you have to enter the codes for the hiddens the same way as with Smoke, and they probably wouldn't save the codes ). I'd recommend the X-Box version unless you really hate the controller (the block/run buttons feel a lot better when they're set to R1/R2, IMO). But--eh, Narc, Rampage World Tour, Total Carnage, Arch Rivals, etc--really, it's hard to gripe overall.
-
I got MAT2 as well, for X-Box. The shadow flicker in MKII is there. Only sound issues are slight delays (but overall the sound is incredible). Didn't encounter any slowdown. The flicker is pretty noticable. I didn't mind the Akuma code in HSF2AE, but the Smoke code is much more annoying. I wouldn't get it for MK3 esp if you have a PS2, because it's all the more lame since the PS1 had versions of MK3 already, and the PS2 MAT2 supposedly has more glitches than the other versions. For MKII, it's alright besides those shadows and apparently them forgetting to put in a way to fight Smoke (since the start button is used for pausing in this version), at least on X-Box.

He's injury prone and they've failed to get him over before as anything other than the midcard porn star gimmick. He's kind of pigeon-holed into it which ruins his chance at trying anything new. Bradshaw is tall, and...uh, WWE Logic.

I think Trish balances both quite well. However, she gets overexposed quite easily. I liked Alundra! Okay, she wasn't that great looking in the face, but still... However, as a wrestler, she wasn't really all that good, and Bull and others carried her. Bertha Faye? She was very poor in WWF although I'd heard she was actually quite good in Japan when she was younger and in better shape. I know, I know, moot to the argument...

1. Okay, I know only one cable modem to a CPU, and for others I need a router. What's a good router, how much, and is there plenty of cord to run a CPU in another room? 2. The PC that the cable modem will be hooked up to has 128 MB of memory. However, the one I actually get to use most of the time is supposed to be 32 MB. I put an old 64 MB memory module in the older computer, but it doesn't seem to "recognize" it. Yet, it doesn't feel any slower than it was. Diagnostics, Add Hardware--nothing seems to recognize it is there, but it was cleaned of dust and stuff. 3. Assuming it's only running at 32 MB, will it still be fine? The folks who are going to be giving me the service say the 32 MB one will still run just fine, although by regulation the cable modem must be hooked up to at least one computer of at least 64 MB memory. So one of them exceeds the minimum. Will the other still "work" with the broadband? If I screwed up some terms, bare with me. I've never used BB before and I'm not all that CPU-savvy either.

Iraqi Nuclear-Related Materials Have Vanished
AndrewTS replied to Spicy McHaggis's topic in Current Events
Well, we can trust theocracies. They NEVER cause problems. But, I can't blame Kerry for his policy there. One of his bigger fundraisers is a well-known apologist for the Iranian theocracy. -=Mike Just like OMGBUSHINBEDWITHOSAMASFAMILYMIKEYMOORESEDSO!~ -
I'm considering a new..ish computer, but I'm not looking to shell out 500 bucks +. I'd be fine with one a year or so old that's significantly more powerful than what I got. The retail chains all have mainly the newer stuff, though. Any suggestions? Retrobox.com looks promising. Pentium 4 looks good... Bah--no op system. I'm looking for a decent speed one--maybe half a gig, with at least a CD burner (DVD player would be nice but not necessary, ditto with burner), I'd like it if XP was installed already, video memory and storage space aren't critical--whatever would be the norm would be sufficient. Any suggestions?

Yeah. He's one of the default selectable characters, plus Kenshi (a hidden that I believe was in DA) has some Ermac-style Telekinesis moves, too.
-
Good to see Hideo-sama focusing on the important things, as usual.
-
A video game subtitled after a Lorenzo Lamas movie? Come on, don't tell me that doesn't sound promising. Folks--ignore the hype. Listen to no one else and play it yourself via rental when you get the chance. Otherwise you're setting yourself up for some big disappointment. "Raiden still has to find Olga's kid, Snake has to find and defeat the Patriots once and for all, and Vamp is still alive." Does anyone give a damn?

Barron's met Fallon's entire fanbase?
-
I would... I mean...not for Jimmy Fallon, but overally it doesn't look like that horrible of a movie. Maybe for all the 'movie buffs' who hate everything that isn't a..."work of art" or "something underground" it may instantly be called shit, ,but it looks decent enough, and I actually believe I'd get some laughs out of it..I liked Bringing down the house...this probaly won't be worse.. Yeah, because if you think "White Chicks" or "The Cookout" is shit you're an elitist. Seriously--you're painting of critics is worse than how you think they are. A studio thought JIMMY FALLON could pull his own weight to co-star in a movie. JIMMY FALLON!!
-
Taxi: $12 million worth of people who went to see Queen Latifah. I repeat--WHO THE **** WOULD GO TO SEE A MOVIE FOR JIMMY FALLON!?
-
*Snerk* I feel stupid. I knew the classic "Jump Kick to Death" strategy wasn't cutting it against him.

Yeah, I saw it before, including that picture. Ironically, I got MKD with the bonus disc that has MK1 on it. Superman IV is an example of his politics even before the accident--partially written by Reeves, shows that he was not only liberal, but one of those dopey, childish liberals who believes the answers to the world's problems are SO DAMN SIMPLE why didn't anyone think of them before?
-
Okay--I'll admit I forked out for the Premium Pack. Some one mistakenly put the $49.99 sticker on it and I couldn't resist. I had rented it and it's pretty good, although there's room for improvement. Puzzle Fighter is better, though, than Puzzle Kombat. Are there finishers other than stage fatalities? PK doesn't have the "gems fuse together" feature, and the random drops kill a lot of chain potentials. It gets more of a chance of luck than skill in those cases. Although the jumbles and supers make for very cool additions. Since I have Broadband now, I can actually play it against friends while at home. Anya'd probably absolutely decimate me, though, since I have no actual clue how to play this yet, let alone being any good at it. Apparently I'm not the only one since the "Beginner" room was all full and no one was in the other ones. Any trick for being the boss besides knocking the statues over? I cheesed my away past Noob-Smoke, and I know the statues can be used to drain the guy's life, but he does old-fashioned MK no-selling of most of my moves. Is Mei Li or Li Mei or whatever her name is in this one? A friend is considering it but wants to make sure she's in since she was his favorite DA character. EDIT: yeah, she's in. N/M

"You have the constitutional right to bear arms, but *not* to arm bears!"
-
Yeah--Reeves' political ideals deserved all the mocking they got and then some (take a look at the pile of crap that was Superman IV to see how naive he was). Plus that commercial that had him get up and walk rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. I'm not heartless though, and it's a huge shame this happened. Kerry namedrops him and Comedy Central played Chris Rock's Bigger and Blacker ("Superman can't walk?! How ****ed up is that ****?!") and then this happens? Creepy. NOTE: HD has something much less nice about the situation..
-
Yes. Benoit and Goldberg are examples of guys with "in-ring charisma" (even though polar opposites as far as wrestling ability). What they mean with Carlito is "his wrestling is boring as ****."

It probably had a lot to do with MGS2 being a tremendous letdown, right?
