This is where I stopped reading as the author lost all credibility. Ditto. God bless HHH for ending the Orton title run if he had anything to say about it.
-
You can get used GCs for that much anyway. I'd rather Nintendo worry about getting people to, you know, make games for the Cube. That and maybe redesign that pad's stupid-looking control layout.
-
Sadly, yes. While HHH is a politicking egomaniac, he at least has a clue how things *should* be done. I believe that Steph or Shane, if left to their own devices without Vince's experience and knowledge, would kill the promotion in 5-7 years. HHH would *have* to take control to keep the WWE running smoothly. That's not to say HHH is up to the task either, but I have more faith in him to run WWE than Shane or Steph.

Screw those guys. Okay, maybe Seagal for Ganryu, but I can't quite see him mackin' on Michelle... They probably could still work Jack in--but if so get this guy for the part: Devil wasn't a key character until T2 anyway. In Tekken he the ultimate boss you'd only fight once unlocking Heihachi.

Kerry talks about the possibility of a draft
AndrewTS replied to bob_barron's topic in Current Events
Heh, it's possible that was just a typo--since the "I can't tell you" makes no sense in the context of the second one. I'd think if they were deliberately out to mislead readers, they wouldn't say "it is possible" and leave the last sentence on there which would make you realize it was probably a typo. -
I saw it on RottenTomatoes too. "Right now I'm framing it after sort of Enter the Dragon as a backdrop, but again, more realistic and more accessible. I want it to seem like it can really happen in today's society, despite how grand and superhuman the characters are." ...that sounds almost exactly how That ****ing Hack Who Made AVP approached MK, and it was done very, very well. So kudos. The Tekken OVA sucked too, so I have no major issues with this approach. Tekken's full storyline would be really, really stupid if they converted it to a movie with little alterations.

"Does this mean that the WWE is so far out of the mainstream now that there aren't any casual viewers left?" I don't believe that is true. However, I've argued in the past that WWE is mainly being supported by the core audience and little else. Nothing they've been doing is either drawing in a lot of new viewers or driving them away. It's curious that the times you'd expect ratings to drop are when they're picking up a little. I guess with fall starting more people are actually staying in and watching TV, which would perhaps offset casuals picking other things to watch. However--it's also possible that Nielson just switched around some of their families, and perhaps that somehow is resulting in the slight differences, or part of it. "People [ie: not WWE staff or networks] still care about ratings?" In the long run, yes; it's interesting to see how a current direction for Raw is panning out as far as the viewership's interest. Week-by-week is kind of negligible, though.

Kerry talks about the possibility of a draft

Since a lot of this is basically the same article--I'll post this here rather than make a new thread. Hmm...gotta love the how the headlines are either misleading or half-truths. Yeah, because Kerry hasn't been mocking Bush, too. More juvenile crap from both sides. So, when exactly can we expect the first big debate? -
Charlie Haas and Jackie Gayda get engaged
AndrewTS replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in The WWE Folder
For my own amusement and maybe some other peeps--Jackie's newest column: -
I'm freakin' psychic. I guessed what it was before even checking out the site. And there's an add that appears on one of those sub-pages where it looks like Maven appears in one of those anti-weed things. "Who smokes pot?" Maven does?

vivisectiv: Again, agreed. Sounds like another unnecessary gadget that those Japanese folks love but wouldn't really be necessary for us. Those of us with cell-phones, especially with IM services, wouldn't really need to make much use of it. Then again, I'd rather hand-write a message...even then, though, it's more of a gimmick because I'd still rather *talk* then write. I also doubt the PSP will have a pack-in game. A collection of demos, maybe.

*likes Brian's idea, even though I hate Kidman*

Benoit's pops were VERY selective...although his half-hearted push during the actual shows probably had a lot to do with it. Plus Eugene's pops have died down. He still gets cheered quite a bit, but I don't know about more than Randy... It's hard to tell if you're not actually at the arena. That's not true. I'm sure Patterson is a big fan of Randy...

2040? The Boomers are going to hit retirement age *very* soon as it is. Either something is going to need to done about it, or we're going to have even more deficit spending (most likely what will happen). -
If they'd had given them a unique look, some sort of characters, built them up an an established team as they worked on their mic skills, *then* split them, people would care. As it is, a team that people believe has teamed for about a month (and even a few months would still be insufficient) who were vanilla babyfaces split it. Boo-hoo. It doesn't help that Kidman is a heel who couldn't keep heat if you lit him on fire and neither of them are exactly stellar mic workers, and you got a feud that reeks of time-filler. Then they'll team back up in again a few months, split again, and you'll just think London is a stupid douche rather than a sympathic face.

What the f*ck?!? Terror watchlist passenger...

*Thousands* of dollars? Holy crap, that's serious!!! -
He could be Screamin Norman Smiley version 2 - the only wussy face in history to ever be slightly over. You're expecting Kidman to convey emotion? Kidman couldn't pull off Screamin' Norman. They should bring him in, and La Parka...
-
He's still top face. ...to WWE anyway. He seem to be getting good pops to me. Yes, but I'd say Orton's pops are, at the very least, behind HBK and Jericho.

The fatal flaw here: WWE wants you to give a shit about Kidman. Kidman heel matches are going to be ugly without high spots. Heaven forbid they turn the guy on the team that can wrestle without them heel. That would make sense. Although I don't actually want to see London lose a feud to Kidman...

Is Randy Orton still a draw?

That's what I'm hoping for. Though, I liked the simple switch on the side of the SP. All in all, though, there's just something about portable 3D gaming that just doesn't appeal to me. Maybe I'm just biased to 2D SNES-ish stuff for the SP.. I agree on all points. I've already expressed plenty of doubts about the portable 3D stuff in the past. The PSOne with the viewscreen and certainly the N-Gage don't appeal to me at all. Maybe this will but I'd have to give it a lot of thought, and I hope they wouldn't abandon 2D--portables are the last place where 2D still rules. However, I'll admit to being biased as well. Yes, sucks that it's only a demo, but it's unlikely you'll be able to rent DS games so it's nice... Most rental places don't carry them. Major chains don't and sometimes local ones carry them, but those usually have high rental fees too.

I don't see that as a problem. The Neo Geo Pocket Color has that too. You'd REALLY have to be an uncoordinated lout to end up pressing it on accident. Even then, maybe they could have it set up like the NGPC, where you have to *hold* the power button in a few seconds for it to shut off. That's how I think they'll do it, but I really never saw a problem with a slide-switch on the side of the system, so don' t know why they switched. I'm more concerned about the Start and Select buttons close together if they will usually be used to trigger a "soft reset." On my ProgramPad for PS2 I was fighting Gill, and accidentally soft reset to the title screen. Good to see that the DS has some big name titles in the works, although none of them are games *I'm* interested in. So far only Metroid looks interesting.

Man, who gives wankers like this access to a computer? Apparently that recap was either done by a female or a walking gay stereotype.

Okay, thought so and figured you'd know. That's why my parents and I are registered Democrats. Doesn't have anything to do with who you're voting for in the general election.
