  1. It probably varies per state, but in PA I believe you have to be a registered Democrat to vote in the Dem primaries, unless they changed that. In the generals you can split your ticket, though.

How would you have killed Kane's child?

It vanishes from Lita's womb, and a new wrestler appears on WWE TV the next week, claiming to be their child FROM THE FUTURE! It was teleported from Lita's womb as a fetus because an alien civilization had need of the great powers it inherited from Kane, and now Lita and Kane's son, now a battle-worn space knight, comes home.

TSM Video Game Ninja Tourney (Rd. 3)

Good point. I thought 40 would work out nice 'n even, but I screwed up. First time doing this. Perhaps a run off--if one match up in this round ties, eliminate them both, or give Ryu a bye, or plucking a few of the more popular past eliminations in a second-chance shot. Any one voting feel free to give input on that.

    Meltzer's Update for 09/21

"EDIT: I'll leave it to you TSM'ers to find out the password yourselves. It's easy to find out, but I'm thinking I'll have a better chance getting ahead of 500 lazy TSM'ers, than the 75 who actually track down the password themselves." I don't live anywhere near where Mania is going to be, and tickets are still too expensive. Knock yourself out. "Even though he and Franken have totally opposite political views, JBL said he liked Franken, and liked his book 'Lying Liars' about Fox News and Bill O'Reilly." Color me surprised.
  5. Why would they do anymore than a small selection though? It'll be a shortlist of 'worthy' contenders, in an attempt to be more 'legitimate' and cash in because it's awards season and the Oscars are coming up soon. It'll be WWE's list of "worthy" contenders, which will probably look kind of like my example. It's very convenient that the only title match where a face is champion has already been booked. It's a good thing that the other titles are held by heels, or the idea may not work out well... Although at least it shows WWE put some thought into this before going ahead with it. It's still a farce, though, because even if they actually use the voting they'll just manipulate it. After all, the fans would have cheered for option number 3 that Vince mentioned on Raw basically regardless of what it was.

First image from Mortal Kombat Deception!

That's really, really ghey. Yet more proof that most US gamers are morons and idiots. On a similar note, isn't Alpha 3 a GH and Alpha 2 isn't?

Don't mind me--I'm not exactly privy to sales info most of the time, nor do I usually care. It's just that I'd expect more from two different continents. Plus it's easy to forget that in sales, the EA sports titles are the exceptions, with most other non-sports titles not doing nearly as well. I still don't get that, since 3 and 4 were hardly quality titles and I don't think 4 was a big seller. I guess quality doesn't really matter a damn, though. Dunno, but TTT probably made a lot of people feel they didn't need T4. It would be sad if DA couldn't surpass VF4. Not surprisingly. 2D isn't a big seller these days. Then again, the EX games were still playable. *shrug* DMC3 could be a big hit.

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

Sky Captain bombed... Less than $16 million on opening weekend. Catwoman did better than that on its opening weekend. Sure, that was in summer...but Resident Evil: Apocalypse did something like $23 million. Well, it wasn't great, but it's a bummer to see it do so poorly. Well, I suppose any chances of a sequel are firmly in the crapper.

    Meet the Fantastic Four!

Am I supposed to know who this Jessica Alba is? "star of TV's Dark Angel" Buffy spinoff? ....okay, kidding, but I only knew because you couldn't escape from those commercials. However, I thought that show sucked. *shrug*

    Whatever happened to Johnny Nitro?
  12. Well, actually it's... "The fans pick the matches from a small selection of options we've already picked in advance so they really don't have much choice in the matter. That's good because our fans are dumb." Probably for the World Title Match, it will be like this: Who do you want to challenge Triple H for the World Title at Taboo Tuesday? 1. Definately Randy Orton 2. I'm fairly sure I want Randy Orton 3. I'm undecided, so Randy Orton 4. I don't want Randy Orton, but Vince is a genius so I'll go with it anyway. 5. Essa Rios

I'm of course referring from a quality standpoint. However, you make a valid point. People will buy any piece of crap with MK stamped on it--take a look at Mortal Kombat Advance. People bought that! On the other hand, take a look at Tao Feng...it was ambitious and had ties to MK, but not the MK name. The result? Hardly anyone bought it. However, I'm not sure about that claim that it's outselling the Japanese games. You seem to always have access to sales figures all the time and I don't know where you get them from, but depending on what games you mean and which criteria, I think that may vary... Googling found me this though: "Recently in a Midway announcement evoked by Gamespot, the sales of all 4 versions of Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, including the port versions for Microsoft XBox, Nintendo Gamecube, Sony Playstation, and Gameboy Advance, reached over 2,000,000 world-wide. MK: Deadly Alliance was also a large success in Europe, to which it was released a few months after it was released within the United States, as Europe has long been followers of Mortal Kombat, specifically in its television series, Mortal Kombat Konquest." Maybe those are just vastly out of date, but 2 million *worldwide* for all systems doesn't really sound all that impressive. I know Tekken 4 sold "below expectations" and that US gamers don't give half a rabbit turd about Virtua Fighter, but Soul Calibur II seemed to sell well, using a well-planned multi-console strategy. Plus, you'd have to count Japan for the Japanese games. *** Also in that article...: Helene Scheeler, the vice president of Midway marketing, stated in the press release "Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance took gamers by storm, and these numbers prove the franchise is continuing to define the fighting genre..." *** HAHAHAH!! Define the fighting genre?! How?! Was there a single original thought in Deadly Alliance? Oh well--sounds like how GI was making out Deception to be innovative because it contains: Stage fatalities combo breakers using the environment as a weapon during the fight Damn, that's brilliant stuff there. I'm sure other fighting games will be copying those for years to come. Of course, those combo breakers are the biggest thing...we've never seen those before. Imagine, executing commands to break up a combo. Hot damn... Sorry. GI sucks and I'm not sure how to handle it except for beating that dead horse a little more. Speaking of sales figures...who the hell is buying all these copies of Halo? Bill Gates?

Lame....yet I still think MK:DA was GI's fighting game of the year. Ed needs to hire some Japanese programmers or some CA fighting game experts for advice/testing.

They only announced west coast dates so far or are those it? I saw Scorps in Pittsburgh a few years ago with Dio and Deep Purple.

    Sony Shrinks the Playstation 2

Thanks!! I ordered a flip top, swap discs, and with shipping it only cost me 37. Usually when I'd find that stuff on Ebay they'd be charging a lot more.

    Sony Shrinks the Playstation 2

"It will have the same two memory card and dual controller slots as the first PS2, as will come with a sole dualshock controller. A new, round base for vertical display will be sold separately." Blargh--multi taps will still need to be purchased separately. "Gonna wait to see if there are any hardware problems with it first, though. " Good idea. I thought my PS2 was croaking since it didn't want to play DVDs and most games...but with a lens cleaning it was good as new. Well, it's 3 years old and I don't know long it will last, so I'll probably pick up one for a spare. Plus, it's good for folks who wanted a PS2 but thought they were too expensive. The older, bulkier units will be available pretty easily used for a better price once this hits. "Although not named the "PStwo" as many had expected, the PlayStation 2 SCPH-70000 CB has a "completely new look" that its forebear, the SCPH-50000." Surely they're going to either call it the PStwo or come up with some catchy marketing name, though...

I think you mentioned once that you had a flip-top case.. If so, where'd you get it from? No, I was looking for a flip-top case, with no luck. As for where to find it--meh, beats me. I tried, and eventually gave up and got an X-Box because I mainly wanted to convert it for Metal Slug 3. However, a friend of mine in interested in modifying his PS2 or getting a flip-top case. So I'm on the hunt for something like that for him. Renegade has a "Slide Tool" but has had some problems with it. Worst of all, even with the flip top or slide tool, you still need Magic Swap discs to play imports.

    Sony Shrinks the Playstation 2

The only thing that would *really* get me excited about this, would be if it were set as a default to play import games. However, that wouldn't happen. It would be nice if that feature would be included if/when they'd release the PSX here. As an enthusiast machine, you'd think that would be a good feature to include. As it is, the PS2 is a total bitch to import-ready.

    Donald Duck in Naziland

It's already catchy to me and I haven't even heard it yet. Scott Keith (IZFAAAATBONZOGONZOLOL2004!!!~~) actually reviewed that, but was that a Canadian-only release or something? I haven't seen any of the Disney Treasures released here in the US, but I'd probably have to go halfway to Pittsburgh and check Best Buy for it, since we only really have Wal-Mart, K-Mart, FYE, and the like around here.

    Meet the Fantastic Four!

No idea--but since these pics aren't as laughable as Catwomen, maybe not. Although I'm sure they've considered "would anyone care if we screwed u--er, 'reimagined' the F4 as a comedy?" I personally wouldn't. Although the latest episode of Venture Bros. made me laugh my ass off. Problem is, they're planning to do that for Aqua Man and Green Lantern both, already. I'm glad to see the suit for Thing, though. Old-school suitwork is always more convincing then a plastic-looking CGI beast leaping around with the grace and balance of a ballerina.
