Ann Coulter shares her thoughts about the election
AndrewTS replied to Rob E Dangerously's topic in Current Events
*Puts this on bigjig and Y2Jerk's Christmas lists* She certainly has a knack for snappy titles, at least. -
We're forever in your debt, Mick...

Jackie has 10 times the charisma Torrie does. -

Why did they have her stop doing "Jackie's Jargon?" It's a hell of a lot better than hearing from "Anthony Cali," etc. -
Lifted from another board, here's some of the many references in the movie.. One of the wrecks in the underwater sequence is the Venture, from King Kong. The log on the island is also straight out of Kong. A street sign reading 'Kings Row', from the classic Reagan film. The robot rays use the same sound as the Heat Ray from War of the Worlds. Polly's phone conversation with her editor has elements of the WotW Welles radio broadcast. The robot warehouse has a deactivated robot with a big #7 on it, just like the numbered robots in the Fleischer Superman cartoon. Someone elsewhere mentioned that Totenkopf's door had THX-1138 on it, I didn't notice this myself. The footage of Olivier seems to be from "Rebecca."

It was some indy wrestler that went by "Taz Stone," actually. You don't think WWE would actually keep a sex offender on it's payroll, right...?

Ditto.

No big surprises in round 1. All the TMNTs made it, but this round two of them go head-to-head. Joe Osugi probably is in for an old-school whipping from elder statesmen of video game ninjahood, Joe Musashi. Why the hell Andy Bogard made it to this round, I have no idea... I encourage Renegade to do his own video game pirate/samurai tournament, though. TSM Video Game Ninja Tournament (Round 2) Andy Bogard (Fatal Fury, KOF) Cyber Ninja (Metal Gear Solid) Donatello (TMNT) Galford (Samurai Shodown) Guy (Final Fight, Street Fighter) Hanzo (Samurai Shodown) Han Zo Mon (WCW/nWo Revenge) Ibuki (SF3) Joe Musashi (The CLASSIC Shinobi) Joe Osugi (Ninja Cop/Ninja Five O) Leonardo (TMNT) Michaelangelo (TMNT) Psylocke (X-Men) Raphael (TMNT) Ryu Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden) Sub-Zero (MK series) Strider Hiryu Tessai (Shinobi Legions) Venom (Guilty Gear) Yagyu Ranzou (Double Dragon III)

Same sort of shit as the pro-Demo propaganda spam I keep getting... Just like the ones I get supposedly sent by the Democrat National Committee. *shrug* Remember, the GOP wants to strip black folks of their right to vote. Choose wisely. In West Virginia--no to gay marriage, yes to marrying your cousin!

Is it really? No. An internet poll taken by almost all smart marks means nothing. Although Jericho is wasted as a midcarder, WWE's not going to use him as a top guy anyway.
-
AND Grisham AND Cole AND those other "pretty young men" announcers you see hired all the time. Oh, and Frosty's sig rules.
-
But...Randy is a draw! This is Jericho's fault.

Stupid question: X-Box Live gamers can't play against PS2ers online, right?

Oops--no Stun Runner. Sorry--I looked too quickly and thought Spy Hunter 2 was it. Release date is currently slated for October 11th. EDIT: Shame about Stun Runner. Oh, here's the game no one had even heard about-- http://www.vgmuseum.com/pics/kozmik.html Rolling Thunder is a Namco game, so I don't think you'll see it on any collections. Yeah, Atari published the American arcade version, but it was still a Namco game, and Namco themselves did the NES version, I believe. Rolling Thunder was a part of Namco Museum Encore, a sixth release of the Namco Museum collection (they ran out of letters...) that had Rolling Thunder....and not much else. It's import only, so if you happen to have an import-ready PS1 or a PS2 set up to play PS1 imports, by all means go ahead. The rest of Encore doesn't seem to justify a purchase, though. Here's a rant about the collection: http://www.toastyfrog.com/features/games/namco_encore.shtml

Gill's beatable despite Resurrection. Either: 1) Don't let get his super meter full. 2) Get a time over victory. 3) Get him to blow his meter on Meteor 4) Hit him before he can recover with a super. It helps a lot to play a defensive style. Plus, certain characters like Ibuki and Elena have moves he consistently falls for--in Ibuki's case that neck twist, and in Elena's case jump-in Roundhouse/Rhino Horn. You can stop him from recovering all his energy by hitting him. I've had the best luck by starting a super right before he flashes for Resurrection, and it hits him quickly enough that he only recovers about 1/6 of the bar. Then if the super doesn' t do him in, usually he's not too difficult to polish off from there.

I just had a little kid ask me if it was OK for
AndrewTS replied to kkktookmybabyaway's topic in Current Events
Clearly the dad is a twat, as is whoever (if anyone) tore up the sign. Although if one of the "Kids for Kerry" gets shoved into a mud puddle, you can be certain we'll hear about that, too. -
I, and many others, don't exactly see that as a problem. A president shouldn't be able to win an election by campaigning in a select few states. There were definitely problems with the 2000 election, but I don't believe the Electoral College wasn't one of them. That's for another thread, though... Threadkiller pretty much covered a lot of very good theories about the situation. Obviously there are many reasons, differing from person-to-person. Personally, I think the strongest reasons are Iraq, the way he's presenting in the media (whether honest or dishonest), and his actual political affiliation. The youth-dominated pop-culture of ours usually is biased against a Republican politician anyway...however, one waging a war perceived as unjust, with many swarmy stories constantly printed about him? How about a president that many folks believe "stole" the election? Such a president is not going to be that popular. As established, Bush is a pretty piss-poor speaker, and his speech writers aren't all that hot, either. While a Bill Clinton had the charisma to even get plenty of his detracters to respect him, Bush doesn't. That makes him easy prey for opponents and media that don't like him or his policies anyway--which is part of my "how he's portrayed" point.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/data/36533.html KH2 is currently supposed to be coming out 9-14-05--an entire year from now, and 10 months from its current Japanese release date. That's before any *future* delays, so I think we'll be lucky to actually get the US version before 2006. It used to be 2/3rd quarter, but they pushed that back to focus on other projects (which was explained in the GMR covering early KH2 info, I do believe). Oh--well, I *thought* the shots I saw were actually less complex than TSW, so that's not all that surprising that it had a smaller team. However, Square wouldn't even need to release Advent Children by themselves in America. They could license it to an American anime publisher--ADV, Geneon, etc--and they'd likely be able to quickly and more efficiently release it with well-done translations and voiced by talented English voice actors. Although I do notice it's not just Square. Why the hell would the GBA Mega Man Anniversary Collection need to be delayed? Translation would take less than a week since the carts have no lockout and English translations already exist for those games, but it's been pushed back to November. Lame. Oh, and we get Chain of Memories before the Japanese. Yay.

"They just have a set way of life that you have to uphold to have any respect in their culture. However, you don't, then you are screwed." Yeah; for starters, don't express any individuality. If you're a woman, get used to men treating you like shit. Great customs there. I know you aren't like that Flik, although many are. On one board I'd heard someone complaining about what IGA did with the storylines of CV. He'd complained that he'd completely ignored and wiped out the work of the folks who did the N64 games. He would not ever shut up about it either. For a lot of people, the fact that he cared *that much* about the storyline of *Castlevania* would be bad enough. However, his constant bitching made it completely unbearable. "Actually Andrew, probably not, since only half of who was needed (100 to 50 I think) to produce FF:WS created FF:AC. Yeah, I don't get how that works, but apparently it does. Everything has been pushed back into the next year as I think they are trying to spread out the games a little better (and I mean all video gaming companies)." Could you clarify that first part again? I have no idea what "FF:WS" is. My point was that Square's not exactly too concerned with KH2, giving it the shaft so they can put out more Final Fantasy in the meantime. Whoopie. "Spacing" them out would seemingly make more sense if there's less Final Fantasy being released in a row. Plus, Square USA would be doing the translations/re-recordings, right? It wouldn't really be holding up Square Japan. Of course, I don't know when this is supposed to come out....

Peanut butter slathered on their bodies? I must have missed those episodes.

Joking or no, I believe population growth in Japan has really slowed down--may even be negative. A large portion of the men either turn to porn or hookers to get their rocks off, and given the choice between a foreign man or a Japanese one. Japanese chicks almost overwhelmingly prefer foreigners (mainly white men), and many of them find Japanese men unattractive. Unsurprisingly, many Japanese guys are very attracted to big-bosomed blondes (i.e. 90% of anime), and aren't as attracted to their own women. However, as far as jobs go, there's a lot of prejudice against foreigners. Although probably white hookers and gigolos do alright.

Bastion of journalist integrity Game Informer gave it a 9.5, plus reveals some fatalities (Baraka lopping his own head off, etc.) However, a 9.5 from GI means jack shit. However, the Puzzle Kombat mode looks really trippy--SD Baraka is...still one ugly mutha. When you win, though, you do an automatic fatality exclusive to the Puzzle Kombat mode.

Just got the new GI--who are keeping up their usual fine journalist standards ("Matt Parker and Trey Stone"). It gets a whopping paragraph-long review. EDIT: Kozmik Krooz'r (whatever the hell that is) is in; Steel Talons, MKI, STUN Runner are out. Timber isn't listed, Timber Wacko is. I don't know if that's different or not. Yes, it's MK3, not UMK3. I don't get it either, but I'm not all that eager to play it so it's no big deal to me. No complaints about how it was ported. However, this is GI, so it's very likely they didn't even bother checking. No separate reviews for the two different console versions. "Oh yeah, that miserable quarter-stealer Pit Fighter is included as well. That game always sucked." Well, that got that right. This issue is 162 pages. Most of it is ads, though. GI still sucks. Funny that they did a "most influential" list just like 1up.com (an affiliate of ZD) did. Big shock, FFVII ass-kissing is included.

That fat untalented turd should be happy, he's getting another push without doing anything to earn it. What push? He's keeping morale up backstage, that doesn't equal a push. Well, it appears Show is, at least for now. However, if he can keep up morale on *Smackdown* then I think he deserves it.
