And Tritec and I make orgasms in anticipation
AndrewTS replied to Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye's topic in Video Games
Careful there. You might jinx it and it sucks like Doom 3. -
Kahran did a very good job of summing it up. DDP was a great midcarder, but main eventer...? Not really. Plus RVD as champ would fall somewhere between the Jericho and Benoit runs, IMO. He'll be a midcarder holding the World Title, while the booking never lets you forget he's not the real star and is only a transitional champion. Plus his style really doesn't work well for having money-drawing, dramatic matches. Eddy, Benoit, HBK, and so on can really sell the drama of the match in the ring even if they may not always be so hot in the mic. RVD isn't up to doing that and has shown he has no interest in doing so. He wants to wrestle some matches, get paid, and be left to do what he wants. He doesn't want to completely change his style nor have the responsibility and aggravation of being champ. If not for his paycheck he'd probably have retired long ago, since he doesn't seem to care at all.

It'll probably be better than Van Helsing. Plus, I'm thinking Kane will be dressed as a giant eyeball monster DRESSED AS an ice cream man. Then he can assault his victims with eye puns, too.

I'd say quite a bit. Plus they both only get work because of who they know...
-
Actually.... Naw... *isn't going to touch that one*

Because everyone here wants Stevie to be champ, and not one or two, yup. A Simpsons reference? Reeeeally dated. They're fine for my professors who are in their 40's/50's, but I would think you can do a little better than that. You're assuming that lots of fans are actually going to *buy* an HHH-Orton main event. That hasn't been proven. Plus you ignore that a lot of the TSM posters are all over Orton's cock lately. Yeah, because we all want the brand extension gone. That's the reason by SD sucks; it has nothing to do with shitty booking and maybe a slightly unbalanced roster. Lord knows that WWE doesn't do something at least every two weeks that makes people say "what the hell is this crap" as it is. Because when you looked at the list of midcarders around, the one that just screamed "star" was Bradshaw. Man, he was sure proved to be a success, didn't he? Actually, they're mainly having profits because of DVD sales and increased PPVs/increased ticket prices. Buyrates have, save for the major ones, been on a steady decline. They aren't in dire straights, however, they're nowhere near how they were during the boom. However, before the Monday Night Wars WWF wasn't really doing all that hot...they nearly died in 1995, bounced back a little, and were doing merely okay throughout 97-98 until Austin really took off and then they were heading towards their most successful period since the 80's. Saying they're doing better than they were *before* the Monday Night Wars is damning with faint praise. The MNW seriously hurt WWE at first, but it forced them to turn themselves around to the point where they got better and pulled in new viewers while WCW stagnated and ran out of new ideas. Of course, WWE's account of it in the MNW DVD probably is a lot different... Until the WWE heads on a several-year-long downward spiral even worse than WCW (remember, WCW had the plug pulled mainly because Turner couldn't justify keeping it around any longer and it was beyond repair, so he was under tremendous pressure to kill it or sell it), and end up losing one or both of their TV deals, then they're going to be doing just fine. However, none of that sort of thing will happen, if ever, for a long time. Once Vince croaks, then I'd be worried about the future of WWE, because neither his kids nor his stooges seem to have a clue how to run things. Maybe I'm not *exactly* correct on my timeline, but at least I'm trying to look at the whole picture instead of jumping to conclusions. However, playing that anti-smark card, judging a minority's opinions as being everyone else's and making assumptions and claims few or any are making will do just fine instead of a decent argument, I suppose. I guess somebody has to fill in for Zsasz now....

Okay, so oddly you're seeing different trailers than me, because I've seen a ton of them where they're locking some gates as the hoards of zombies move towards them.

I'm still calling bullshit on this unless we hear something more credible. Also, as long as she could get off, no this won't hurt her chances even if it is true. I swear Nathan Jones' criminal record had to be the main reason he was signed, since he was lousy as a wrestler, body builder, and his "charisma" turned out to be as big a fraud as the rest of his "skills."

How so? The screenplay was written by Paul W.S. Anderson, and directed by...not by Anderson, but by a SECOND UNIT DIRECTOR in his first time as a main director. Natasha "Species" Henstridge bailed out from playing Jill. THEY COULDN'T GET NATASHA HENSTRIDGE for cryin' out loud. It's going to be big, loud and very, very stupid. Except for that big ass swarm of them, of course.

1) I have Alpha 2 already for Saturn, but I kinda want Alpha 2 Gold. Plus, some one is interested in getting the Saturn Alpha 2 from me. 2) The Saturn controller. I'm still not certain I'm going to get the special SF controller and the PS2 SFAC. Obviously, price will be a factor. 3) The Saturn versions of the game are just plain better. More animation, I hear the PS1 version has slowdown, and even the American PS1 version is hard to find anyway...so may as well get the Saturn one if possible. However, does the PS1 have Survival and Akuma Mode? 4) If I wait for the X-Box one, ST will give me my SFII fix until then. I'd snatch up the import if they had the English mode like in VS. Is that in CvS2? I see a "Bilingual" in the lower corner of the screen in the DC CvS2, but I don't know what that's about. As far as I'm concerned, Alpha 3 is a "dream match" game filled with a lot of bad ideas, good ideas poorly excuted, and stupid unnecessary changes that ruin the game engine. Air throws for everybody! One useless ISM and one overpowered one! Bison more of a cheap bastard than ever! Crappy, lazily-thrown together backgrounds! You can play as the worst Final Fight character! The music sucks! The animation is downgraded! Crap about that "Psycho Drive!" Lousy endings! "Counter Hits," two-button throws, and air-recoveries that some 3D fighter junkie thought belonged here! Too much juggling! Cammy clones! "Old" SF2 fighters that finally appear after anyone who missed them probably moved on!.... Although World Tour mode was a good idea. However, since that was a home version exclusive that's more of a credit to the people making the home versions (who also made a shockingly good home PS1 conversion) than the quality of the game itself.

Bah--copy and paste, plz. Please don't tell me that W.S. Anderson or Uwe Boll is making it. ...naw, they'll find some one even worse, probably. Well, worse than Anderson. You can't really get much worse than Boll. Plus Boll's going to be too busy ****ing up Alone in the Dark for a while.

Nuby makes the special SF controllers, and I've had good luck with those, fortunately. I have a ton of gawky, oversized, goofy looking Nuby DC pads I bought from a dollar store...but despite how they look, they feel great and work better than the default pads, IMO. So I think these will hold up. However, I really regret selling my Hori 10B Playstation controller, which had the standard PS1 layout but with duplicate L1 and R1 buttons on the face, plus turbo, autofire, slo-mo. WHAT WAS I THINKING?! Joysticks aren't much of an option for me, since I just can't get used to them. I prefer wrapping my hand around a controller instead of holding a stick in my lap (wait, that came out wrong...) However, I don't get why Sega went with a mere 6 button pad that had four face buttons and two triggers. It would have been no problem to tack on two more buttons. The NiGHTs controller would have made an excellent DC controller with minor tweaks. It's interesting that the X-Box controller is the spiritual successor in design...save for those damn black and white buttons. However, playing CvS2 EO on the Box, it works well if you get used to it and the L and R buttons are easily accessible. At the very least it should be fine for GGX2R. Oh, and can you believe there are folks on GameFAQs complaining that SFA3 is left out of the collection? Granted, another game in place of the hacked-up SFII OVA would be good...but...they should smack themselves for wanting *that* one. Alpha 2, sure, but Alpha 3? It sucks hard. The only good things to come out of it were Karin and a very rough version of the ISMs which were put to better use in CvS2. By the way, anyone know where I can get me a copy of the US Street Fighter Collection for Saturn? I could easily find the imports on Ebay, but no US versions seem to be popping up. Although with this collection around maybe I'll be able to get one more easily and cheaper.

Fair enough. Although you could probably find a used Zero Mission *right now* (instead of waiting for the official release) that has Metroid NES unlocked, and get two games for the price of one. However, my extremely cheap Polish side wants to get the best bang for the buck, so I wanted you to know just in case you weren't aware. Xevious and Bomberman are the only ones that I believe aren't available in another form (and Ice Climbers, but who cares about that?). However, Pac Man Collection costs LESS new than the NES Classics Pac Man. Stuff like that irks me and I wish Nintendo wouldn't waste the opportunity and re-release classics that aren't out on GBA already and haven't been revived plenty of times. Not directed at me, but... The game isn't "shit" because you suck at it, dude. However, I will conceed that stuff like having to be PIN-POINT ACCURATE when using the punches / kicks / dropkicks or when hitting top rope moves (which have bizarre distinctions like a moonsault that only hits standing opponents, one that only hits opponents laying down) somewhat annoy me, but I chalk it up as part of the painstaking approach to detail. The Fire Pro games have a unique "timing" to them that is much easier overall that having to insanely mash buttons to win a grapple, and certainly was a template for the AKI games (although a lot of people may prefer the easier-to-learn AKI grapples over Fire Pro's timing-based system, such as yourself). However, not many rental places let you rent portable games, and I don't think you'll see any major chains carrying import titles. However, since I usually see the game sell for around 10 bucks or less (used), that's no biggie.

Well, they need to fill time I guess, since the roster kinda sucks. Let's see... possible NM card: Taker vs. JBL Booker vs. Cena Mr. Sir vs. Paul London Angle vs. Eddy Spike vs. Rey Cole/Tazz vs. Mr. H/Paul H. Tag title defense I guess that'll do.
-
Naw, that would be Quaker's old pal Typhoon/Shockmaster....but it wouldn't work out as well.
-
I stand corrected.
-
Did you know RVD is unorthodox? Which walking stereotype/future Cinemax actress will be AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL?!?!? Damn that show to hell for likely inspiring the Diva Search.
-
Raw Rebound > SD. If only for the music.
-
If it was Vince's doing, it would probably be a picture of himself and Reagan. MLK Jr. was an overrated, lecherous Communist anyway.
-
Say it, Cole. You know you wanna. Heidenreich is a BULLY!
-
lame
-
Cena sucks.

Played it on a demo at EB. Lots of people were playing it. I never finished the race I was playing since I kept intentionally having head-on collisions.

Not much patience is required--just have to learn the timing. It's just as the wrestlers touch. Yeah, it took me a while when I first got Fire Pro S, but now it's practically second nature. Remember you also have to work up from the weaker moves (B moves, then A moves, then B+A moves). Oh, feel free to blow your money on Metroid if the original packaging means that much to you. However, for a few bucks more you can get Zero Mission, which lets you play the original Metroid when you beat the game on any difficulty (if you're already a Metroid vet, that's little more than a warm up). Yes, it's the original Metroid that can be played on GBA--no linking up to Prime required. It's just like most of the NES Classics releases--overpriced AND available in a better form.

Yeah, they might as well make HHH the GM. Kayfabe's dead anyway. Plus it wouldn't be too much different from HHH's role during late 1999/2000.
