I hope not. *cringes at Rush's "Summertime Blues."

Downhome: I'm assuming you forgot to mention "non-sports," and I think by "any" games it means any out of the big 3 that are non-sports. Of course, I don't have a Gamecrazy around here, so I wouldn't know.

Hmm... an example of a post you might find by Anya in Video Games/Toys: Oh, kudos to 2GOLD--I rarely realized that Whedon's best work was a team effort and his worst was by himself. *Files it in his anti-Whedon ammunition folder*

I still see it in EBs, but it was supposedly "Limited Edition." Although that doesn't mean they won't produce more if they feel there's a demand for it--maybe with the second line of NES Classics.

By "some" you mean Spike Dudley and Shannon Moore, right?

Christina Milian was rumored as being considered for the new Storm *shudder* It wouldn't really hurt, IMO, to drop her though.

Well, he's actually not the storongest version of Sagat, you know. In Hyper, you can also play as the "Super" versions of the characters that were in SSF2T. In that game, they let you play as the SSF2 versions of characters, but those versions were sometimes a little different... "Super" Sagat in ST is a beast. Fast, quick Tiger Shots, incredibly quick recovery (Bison leaped over a low tiger shot from full screen...right into a Tiger Uppercut. MUHAHAHAH!!), and double-hit close LK and MK. To play as the ST "Super" versions of the character, hold start when you select "Super" on the mode select, then press any button to select that mode. Then pick the character (i.e. Sagat) as normally. You should have the Super SF2 Turbo logo--with the blue "Super" letters, instead of a Super meter. Those who didn't shell out for the strat guide may not know that. Oh, and reminder--the Akuma Code: Select SuperT mode, leave the cursor on the following characters for about two seconds... Ryu, T-Hawk, Guile, Cammy, then put it back on Ryu. Press Start and all three punch buttons (if you have a 3P button set up, like L1, you can use that) simultaneously. You'll get the black silhouette and jet off to whoop some major ass.

Trish is one of the best on Raw in delivering Gewirtz's corny, sexual innuendo laced lines. So is Christian, Jericho and Edge used to be. Obviously Gewirtz loves Trish as she has been getting a ton of backstage vignettes lately. "Hey, urm, uh, Trish...I, uh, I can make you a star...you want another, uh, interview, heh? Maybe after the show we can, uh, you know, go back to my room, and, uh, read some, ah, comic books." Trish admitted she was a geek at heart and reads comic books and stuff. So sadly, by proximity alone Gerwitz probably has a better chance of scoring with Trish than any of us. Okay--one Diva has already been injured arm-wrestling... The train-wreck potential of this thing is immense.

People break arms armwrestling. It's happened before and it'll happen again. It's not some kind of freak occurance which I already stated in this thread. People also often get injured from it such as myself. It happens. She was armwrestling another woman, though. Show of hands--who thinks Vince probably tried to sign Magus before settling for that loser?

They did Kingdom Hearts right and seem to be heading that way with KH2. Most of their new **** is the same old **** but with a new coat of paint, though. The exceptions would be Final Fanservice X2, Final Fantasy Bone to Gamecubers, the Enix stuff, and I suppose Front Mission 4. I hear Front Mission 4 is actually good so I can't say what's up with that. Plenty of people think they do a lot right, but I think I've mostly outgrown them. If graphics are all you play a game for, well, they're probably on the top of the heap in that regard. If you gotta have more, though, you may be displeased. Square used to be the standard when they were basically the only game in town for US RPGs. However, since we now get a lot of the less mainstream stuff, they look mediocre in comparison. So ironically, RPG gamers have a lot to thank Square for and a lot of things to hate them for. If not for them RPGs may not be as easily available in the US as they are now. However, so much of their work is mediocre, cliche, and annoying. Time travel provides tons of "alternate" timelines...there's lots you can do, especially if you ignore Chrono Cross. Plus, if you don't have to strictly connect it with Trigger, you can base a new game around new or thematically similar characters. You could have some 30 year old pretending to be a teenager who meets some old guy who turns a DeLorean into a time machine. You doubt Square's ability to sequalize? Take a look at Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. ...wait. That game provides the perfect example for why they shouldn't do a sequel.

http://www.1up.com/do/feature?pager.offset=2&cId=3134385 <=== some positive to balance out the list. Also, that's why I said "arguably." Picking the 10 worst games Acclaim made is no easy task. I think In Your House was worse than Hardcore Revolution, for instance. Wow, graphics that would be passable on SNES or Genesis, but animation that wouldn't? Missing so much about what made WM Arcade fun? Vader turning into Mantaur? What's not to (not) love?
-
Nope. I liked it too, although I believed they could have done a much better job if they'd gotten the chance to improve. Does Square USA do anything besides translating and marketing the Japanese games? Although, I think Square wouldn't want to risk Americans "ruining" their Chrono franchise. They like to ruin it by themselves.

Oh, and a fitting tribute to Acclaim can be found here: http://www.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3134385 Yes, it's a summary of the very worst that Acclaim brought us (arguably).

Airplane! The Pink Panther Movies Young Frankenstein This Is Spinal Tap Dr. Strangelove Spaceballs Austin Powers WAS once upon a time a parody of the spy genre...but the Bond movies were never all that serious to begin with. They reveled in cliches like a pig in slop. Casino Royale was a movie based on a Bond novel that was a straight-up parody. I've heard it isn't too good, but it's got Peter Sellers... This same topic came up on another MB I frequent. Other peeps suggestions: Kentucky Fried Movie History of the World Pt. 1 Hardware Wars Arachnophobia and Starship Troopers both seem to be parodies but aren't really blatant. It's hard to describe...however, try not to think of them as serious and they're hilarious. Lost Skeleton of Cadavra is a great spoof/tribute of those crappy 50's sci fi movies. It's fairly new and came out on DVD.

Maybe if X3 blows. Count me as another Whedon-hater. I think he should stick to TV, and I have huge doubts about this.

Americans?! Of course, they could put it on X-Box... *slaps head* Oh right...Forgot the whole "SquareEnix is a Japanese company" deal for a second. Well, they at least have the foot in the door of the domestic game developers if the right people take notice. Yeah, and I would like to see a filthy gaijin company kick the asses of Square in the form of a Japanese-style console RPG, and on X-Box too. Square USA actually did create Secret of Evermore--which was a great first effort. Yet, I don't think they actually released many/any projects after that. Meh. Too bad. BTW, cool avatar Ced. What's it from? It looks familiar...I think I saw that girl on a DVD cover or something like that.

You're absolutely right. What's your point, though? Only to point out the hypocrisy that's so prevalent in situations like this ... JBL goes after a fan? He's an asshole that should be fired. Well, JBL *is* an asshole. I think that's well established. However, I don't recall any incident like that, let alone the specifics. I'm more familiar with the Munich incident. That I do remember. However, I remember that Guerrero was provoked and at least had some reason for it. You make it sound like he did it for little or no reason. If the same situation would happen with Bradshaw, I'd like to think I'd feel the same way. You can yell and scream at the wrestlers all you like, but throwing shit on them or touching them--that you just don't do. Doesn't matter if it's Spike Dudley, Taker, HHH, JBL, or Eddy. However, I might be a little less sympathetic to JBL in the same situation, since I disliked him for his attitude long before his undeserved push and despite his match quality. However, I think that's a little different than laughing at injuries, which I feel is a separate issue entirely. Neck injuries I don't think are at all funny. Nash's injury got chuckles from people because of the circumstances surrounding the situation, plus they didn't like the guy... All of which are vastly different situations than a "Diva" wannabe getting a little boo-boo from arm-wrestling. I don't get *how* it could have happened, so for me it's just amazement rather than amusement. However, it's nothing serious and she'll be fine. I'm not going to condemn someone from finding it amusing. Perhaps we're just desensitized, since one of the funniest moments of last year was a JR stunt double screaming while his ass was fire. If a smark favorite injured his arm in a televised arm wrestling competition? I'm not going to say I wouldn't laugh, especially if they were of comparable strength. If an arm was actually broke, though, I'd wonder "WTF?!" While I'm not laughing about it, the holier-than-thou attitude and comments like "one of the guys that the smarks get a hard-on over" sounds like a bit much to me, no offense. It somewhat smacks of the wise-ass "anti-smark" attitude and lumping posters together as if they all have the same opinions. If you dislike some childish attitudes, ignore them or voice your complaints a little nicer. As it is I don't think you were going to change anyone's mind. On the other hand, I think CC was justified complaining when people were getting a chuckle over Edge's injury (although the comment about HHH's compression pants got me--that was always a funny visual--I'm sorry), since it really sucks he's been back for so short a time and is getting easily injured. The difference between him and Nash? Nash demonstrated he clearly couldn't cut it as an active wrestler anymore, but Vince wouldn't give up on the guy. Edge was a guy who was trying and doing a good job despite the ring rust, but then **** happens and he's back out injured.

Maven doesn't deserve an "Official Maven Sucks Thread." Why bother? You never see the guy. I haven't seen a Maven match in probably a year +, so no comment on his current work.

Whenever she opened her mouth, yes. *insert annoying face Jericho joke here* Her promos at the time were terrible, and it took her a while to get used to it again.

"Now if they were REALLY thinking they'd have Torrie flip out that Long hired Big Show back (which would make sense if you're her) and bring in some people to take the Big Show out, turning her into a heel bitchy manager. Another angle that just writes itself!" .... We are not amused. If you thought Trish post-WM sucked as a heel... I like TMM's idea for Kidman/London, though.

Well, in addition to nominations, I racked my brain for as many as I could think of, and ended up with a nice round number of 40 ninjas (or sorta-ninjas). Don't complain that X isn't in here, since I gave plenty of nomination time. Also, the definition of "ninja" was kind of liberal for this one. I also went alphabetically, so I wouldn't end up with repeats and it produced some interesting match ups and possible future match ups. TSM Video Game Ninja Tournament (Round 1) Andy Bogard (Fatal Fury, KOF) Ayame (Tenchu) Black Bomber (Bomber Man) Cyber Ninja (Metal Gear Solid) Donatello (TMNT) Dou Lon (KoF) Eiji Kisaragi (Fatal Fury/KOF) Galford (Samurai Shodown) Goemon (Mystical Ninja/Goemon) Guy (Final Fight, Street Fighter) Hakotumaru (Mark of the Garou) Hanzo (Samurai Shodown) Han Zo Mon (WCW/nWo Revenge) Hibana (Nightshade) Hotsuma (PS2 Shinobi) Ibuki (SF3) I-Ninja Joe Musashi (The CLASSIC Shinobi) Joe Osugi (Ninja Cop/Ninja Five O) Kagemaru (Virtua Fighter) Leonardo (TMNT) Mai Shiranui (KoF, Fatal Fury) Michaelangelo (TMNT) Ninja (Ninja Warriors) Psylocke (X-Men) Raikoh (Otogi) Raphael (TMNT) Rikkimaru (Tenchu) Ryu Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden) Scorpion (MK series) Snake Eyes (GI Joe) Sub-Zero (MK series) Storm Shadow (GI Joe) Strider Hiryu Tessai (Shinobi Legions) Takashi (Shadow Dancer) Vega (SFII) Venom (Guilty Gear) Yagyu Ranzou (Double Dragon III) Zool
