"Eggs", suuuure. I'd say this is the most likely scenario, because Yoshis can and will use them as projectile weapons. And I say Yoshi's male, because he was allegedly hooking up with Birdo (who is *female*, and was always female in Japan. NOA invented the transvestite thing).

If they're going to appeal, I guess this means they're not looking to alter the content of the game yet. However, if they're not going to alter the game content, they'll have to try to get the ESRB to re-rate the game, plus deal with the other various boards that gave adult ratings or banned the game. I doubt the game is going to be out before GTA4 at this rate.

Yoshi produces eggs. "His" gender, or the nature of the species' genders and reproduction isn't exactly clear. Maybe Miyamoto sucked at biology.

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrgh, that phrase is so annoying. -
Botching a spot is fine...but repeating it soon after is not good. I wasn't *sure* he botched it until I saw him try doing the move later.

The Rifftrax for 300 is up! http://www.rifftrax.com/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=80 -
PKJJ would have gone down a lot smoother with more time in the damn editing room. Like David Spade said, the best way to enjoy "King Long" is on DVD. "Bye-bye first hour!" House of Wax is a crummy slasher flick with a few ideas cribbed from the original movie(s), not so much a true remake. And yes, Wicker Man '06 should probably be at the top, and I'm glad other folks agree. What other remakes become such a completely idiotic comedy in the process? "YOU BITCHES!!!" Rifftraxed, it's even more funny, if that was possible. What's with this recent phobia about using the entire title for the remake? "The Poseidon," "Guess Who?" come to mind, and now I see that the remake of Invasion of the Body Snatchers coming out next month will just be called "The Invasion." What the hell...

And like with the Genesis/SNES days, you'll need to decide: are RPGs *really* that important to you?

Pick up Fire Pro Wrestling on GBA at a Gamestop or something (you know, something). It should be about 5 bucks used, and if you like it, then you'll have good idea of what to expect, save the superior audio/video of the PS2 game. Months? GTHO, games are going to come out for PS2 for likely 2 years, if not more. Not major 1st party releases or big-budget titles, but lots of releases from tons of companies. Granted, a lot of them will be be probably cross-platform releases with Wii, though.

I thought we were there?

What the hell was that shirt Orton had on? Was that a human skull with ANTLERS?!

Say it at a bargain matinee. Definitely enjoyed it, and I got sick of watching any of the TV show years ago. However, the writing didn't seem as snappy as the early seasons to me, and at the beginning (where it seemed they were trying to do that), it felt really forced. However, it beats the show in spades for the sole reason that the writing wasn't so obnoxiously navel-gazing and the "celebrity" appearances were quick and used for gags. The funniest bits were the visual gags, though. .

Yeah, that's the biggest downfall PS3 has right now. Because of it's price tag, it has to justify its price based on what it has to offer *over* 360. Sony's 1st party offerings are fine, but they've yet to get the strong 3rd party exclusives. With PS1, they had a strong starting lineup at the time, a *major* price advantage (over Saturn) and an early start versus N64 (not counting that system's own problems). With PS2, they stepped in and stomped on a Dreamcast that suffered from the PS2's massive hype job, PS2's built-in DVD player (at a time when such a thing was a luxury item) plus Sega's own long-running stupidity. Its competitors were late and poorly-equipped to actually compete (and "compete" is a somewhat generous). Right now, they're late against one system that developers are better equipped to program for, and another system that's cheap to make, selling gangbusters, and leeching off last gen technology and last-gen programming experience. They don't have the "first mover" advantage, they don't have such weak competition, and they certainly don't have price in their favor. So they'll need to make it (and quick) on games and/or other selling points. However, just like a lot of early 360 games, multiplatform games have had some frame rate issues (or just lower frame rates period) than on 360. PS3 Madden will only be 30 fps vs. 60 this year. FEAR had a abysmal frame rate, many reviews I'd seen noted. Lair, which was designed ground-up for the system, suffered from frame rate issues throughout development, and while it has been cleared up the title only runs at 30 fps. Blu-Ray doesn't offer quite the same, obviously large benefits DVD did over VHS, and its appeal is tied quite a bit to HDTV adoption rate (at least until companies start to phase out DVD releases). So while attaching Blu-Ray with PS3 may be good for Sony's home video business, right now the value of the Blu-Ray releases are quite questionable. Maybe when new TV shows start being released in affordable 1-2 Blu-Ray disc sets (instead of monster 6-DVD sets) we'll really be talking. Personally, I find this 30-dollars-for-a-single-movie-disc business is weak. Of course, maybe Sony's IPTV thing will pan out, but it's too early to tell.

Yeah, there is a version of 2008 for the DS. It's apparently completely touch-controlled. It's not that I don't think it's a bad control scheme in general, I just don't have high hopes for the DS version. Plus Amaze Entertainment is making it: http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/company/72246.html Expect a poor attempt at retrofitting it to the DS' graphic capabilities and touch screen. It will be 3D but I saw some early screens, and it looked terrible (it's somewhere on GAF, but the search function doesn't work unless you have an account, and I never bothered to sign up).

360 sales have been stagnant for months, however. They *need* to clear the broken 360s out. As far as I know, nobody has been able to pluck a 360 off the shelf and confirm the improvements are in place. Meaning those 360s sitting on shelves are the broken 360s. They haven't issued a recall, now have they? I don't think the Elite is going to become the "main 360." Core is there to stay; plus they probably see it as their best bet to stay competitive price-wise with the Wii. They likely will start adding HDMI to Premiums, and begin bundling 120 GBs when it's flat-out cheaper to make them in bulk than the 20GBs.

How's this sound? : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Left_4_Dead It's going to come out initially on PC (presumably through Steam), but a 360 version will come out soon after ("Q4 2007").

From my own experience cheapassgamer is reliable. Although I think that most of the 360s they'll be selling are broke, so if you're a fence sitter KEEP WAITING.
-
They *still* haven't fixed that? Which is what usually keeps this series as "rent" and not "buy" for me.

Popping in the thread to say HELL YEAH AMERICAN VERSION COMING NO MODDING / TRANSLATION NEEDED. Can anyone who has the import tell me: is it flat, fixed-view, simple 2D sprites with no scaling, like 6 Men Scramble, or is it like Fire Pro D, much larger, somewhat more detailed sprites with some zooming (if my memory serves me correctly)? I'm pretty much just accustomed to 6MS and the GBA games.

EDIT: beaten by Ripper. You should get a trial version of Live Gold though, just by connecting up and setting up a gamertag. You'll get a "free offer" for it, and they'll hope once you try it out and you'll be hooked and pay.

I don't know if that's good or bad, considering the production quality of Smackdown always looks consistently terrible to me versus most other channels. And I'm on SDTV and standard-def broadcasts.

Essentially, yes. The Sable character reflected a post-feminist viewpoint of women "taking control of their own sexuality." The pussycat dolls argue that as well. Funny how their intepretation of "taking control of their sexuality" happens to be the one thing that fufills the fantasies of most men and teenage boys and rakes them in pots of cash. I mean, I don't have a problem with the divas using T&A to make a living, I just wish they wouldn't call it feminism or pretend it's not degrading. It's also the basis for building up every new female face. "I'm pretty, hooray! I want to show my titties in playboy!" Female heel: show some shame, slut! Crowd: boo! Female face: oh, it's ON, bitch! *lame feud* It's not like they ever stopped doing it and having Sable come back and do it again should make any real difference. Plus, they did they already.

It seems to me most consumers really didn't feel they needed either, but the ones who bought PS3s figured, "may as well." 360 owners had games to play on their system...at least when it was working.
