Trying to be too much like the late Rick Rude At least he was more successful than the other classic gimmick revival they tried about the same time: The Million Dollar Arab, Tiger Ali Singh.

I thought the problem was injuries? The Chief Morley role seemed like it was intended for him to have an on-camera role but he wouldn't need to wrestle. It seemed really stupid for him to go back to the Venis gimmick, because he was great in the Morley role. He was great on the stick, and had a lot of neat acting subtleties down pat. However, they stick him back into the same midcarder gimmick that's never going to get him anywhere higher. It could only work if they alter it heavily, like the "new" Goldust (pre-Tourette's). EVIL ICE CREAM MAN!

Well, Tajiri's fine on his own anyway. He's never needed a sidekick. However, I can't see his move to Raw resulting in anything more than a depush to jobberdom. Although if he stays heel at least we don't have to see him fed to Orton.

"for whatever reason" Yeah, the reason many of us don't like Austin is a total mystery. I couldn't possibly name a real reason myself. Goshdarnit, we gotta hate him, though!

I slightly disagree. If the girl is absolutely out of control, I don't see too much wrong with a slap. You can't physically harm someone with a slap. Cena knocked Jericho unconscious with one.

Maybe she stole his leather jacket and/or motorcycle. The Fonz wouldn't have to lay a hand on her. He could have another woman beat her up.

Also, since when do pressing *criminal* charges mean she's going to be awarded money? If she rushes to file a civil suit, then there's a red flag right there for you. As much as I think he's a weirdo and a creep, the same situation is making me think the recent thing with Jackson seems very suspect (although those saying it was "motivated by revenge" sound like complete morons).

Christ Benoit? HBK is a hypocrite! Also, it seems as if EVERYONE in OVW is supposed to be really good, until they start to wrestle in WWE.

Street Fighter III on its way to PS2...
AndrewTS replied to Use Your Illusion's topic in Video Games
Yup. I got mine rather easily the first day it came out, and seen good prices for it on the internet. I'm referring to the PS2 double-pack, of course. Whether you'll like 2000 or 2001 kinda depends. 2000: Ren hates it, and I like it. It's awesome visually and aurally, and there's tons of kick-ass strikers to use (like a version of Choi that looks like Freddy), and they're actually useful. Some people think they're too cheap in this game (at least, certain strikers anyway), and it really hurts gameplay. However, if neither you or the people you're playing abusing them to be a dick, there's no real problem with it. There are number of purists (Ren included) that hate the game because of that, and the ability to use the strikers for some cheap combos. 2001: Renegade likes it, I don't give a damn about it. I hate the new art, the backgrounds suck, and the boss is the most annoying KoF boss I've fought, personally. It plays pretty well, and I like how you can choose the striker/fighter combination you'd like (You could have anywhere from 1 fighter and up to 3 strikers, to 4 fighters and no strikers). However, I just don't have as much fun playing it as the other KoFs. It just feeled rushed and less polished than most of the other games. So, up to you, but depending on the type of fighting games you like, you're bound to enjoy one of them. KoF 2k1 is pretty deep, but the overall fun just isn't quite as much there for me. -
Austin in his own defense: "I'm Stone Cold Steve Austin, bitch!"
-
Don't worry, he won't be.
-
If they don't release him in time for next Raw? "Hangover." If he's going to be off TV longer, they'll just not mention him.
-
No-sell it and restrain her. You could trust me, too.
-
Unless he actually somehow goes to jail for it, I bet you a large amount of money I don't have that this will have no affect whatsoever on his TV time. Silly me--I hate it when I forget the wisdom in my own sig.

Patterson and Grenier are real men! Methinks you could have phrased that better, AS.

I would like to commend the Sagat voters for the close match up, but scold any cheaters on both sides. Thank you for coming clean about that, caboose. WINNAR IS IORI!!

Strangely enough, the "fake" characters looked far more like their real counterparts than in VPW2. In VPW2, did they make the "fake" wrestlers look less like their real counterparts due to changes in Japanese laws, or so they could squeeze more replay out of the game by making you unlock the real costumes? Big Bang Pro Wrestling seems to just have fun with odd character designs, and tack on movesets from U.S. guys. A big fat bald guy as a Nash-clone, for instance. Plus Kei has to have the largest breasts I've ever seen on a female game character. Geez, Mai would point and laugh at her.
-
However, hopefully this means the end of him on TV.
-
Huh? What do you mean? I like the idea of how he goes on about wanting to not be beaten up but has plans to wrestle in Japan. Oh, Billy-boy, you're going to be so wrong. I think he knows what he's getting into. He's not a puro virgin.
-
Doesn't sound bitter, and on the contrary sounded more professional that Brock's post-WMXX interviews. "- The announcer asked if it was his first movie (Bill’s ego took a hit here) and Bill said it was actually like his fifth film." Hmm...Universal Soldier: The Return, and what else?
-
That's basically it. Japan has different copyright and intellectual property laws as the United States. So sometimes they'll make little changes and make sure the names are different, and they're fine. Plus vs. the World's graphics are so ugly it would be difficult to definitively say which wrestlers are who. Sabu's in as well, and Ken Shamrock, Hawk, and Taka were in the WWF at around that time as well. I think he's less accurate than his VPW64 version, though. Shinzaki is missing the Heavenly Lock and the rope-walk in World Tour, as well, I believe. There are some weird things going on there. Some moves are swapped around, such as the guy that looks like Dynamite Kid using Vader's move set, the Terry Funk knockoff being bald, and so forth. Also, "The Giant" is actually Andre. Unless there was a point in WCW where Wight ballooned to a greater size than he currently is in WWE and grew an afro. Maybe I missed that. It was made by a Japanese company, and was probably little more than a translated version of the Japanese game, so they weren't very familiar with a lot of the less-famous WCW guys.
-
Huh? It seems some one is confusing him with his identical twin brother, Donnie B, who used a "Mr. 80's" gimmick, I believe. Although I don't think Donnie's a wrestler, just a manager/promotor.
-
Next week: WWE calls him "Johnny Cage" until Williams/Midway threatens legal action.
-
On a puro site I saw a picture of his finisher, and it was a Shining Wizard. Apparently he's used that as well as the Backdrop Suplex. So expect him to use that. Hurricane doesn't use a real Shining Wizard anyway, and if RVD and Eddie can both use Frog Splash variations, this shouldn't be a problem. If it is a problem, I guess Helms can't use the Shining Black anymore. The WWE writing ain't Shakespeare. How about a half-dozen monkeys at ten typewriters? That would explain taking 3 years to figure out Bradshaw could actually pull off the gimmick they just gave him.

Oooooh, eerie! That's great. *reads* *shudders*
