VX: And what was the point of that? I was just assessing the situation, keeping in mind that the PS2 *is* the dominant home console as far as sales and user base. I wasn't expressing a preference, hence I don't get why you saw it as an opening to spout your X-Box fanboyism.

Welcome to the minority. I've pretty much had requests to give my input, so why should I deny them? It's kinda like only Besus is crying out for Anglesault to stop the Orton-bashing. The rest agree or don't give much of a damn either way. If she wishes she could wrestle better, she could learn. Trust me, she doesn't care to. Victoria did, Trish did, but she's content in her current role. As long as she isn't wrestling real matches and putting on stinkers like Gayda and Nidia were, then I'm not complaining about that either. Unfortunately, last time I saw Nidia wrestle, it was against Torrie, and I couldn't tell who was worse. Now we'll have to put up with that on Raw. I suppose you're fluent in bimbo. Congratulations! Edge should have called her a DORKETTE!~ It isn't something you say to someone while right next to them. Hell if I know. It's either a "yes," "no," or "yes, sometimes" question. Maybe it means they like to roleplay. How about putting Spike Dudley in Kidman's place? That any better? Screw that. I'd watch that. Is there any clear pattern to how they do these? I'd think one person from each brand, but it seems usually they have one male and one female guest.

The Role Playing Game Tourney 2k4 (Hero Edition)

Nominees: Crono from Chrono Trigger (he's kinda like Cloud, except he's not a whiny little bitch) Alys from Phantasy Star IV Alex from Lunar -
Since Kane has done nothing since Mania, I think they're planning on him feuding with one of the former SD guys. Uh oh...it is going to be Kane vs. Edge, isn't it?! Kind of ironic, since in late '02 Kane WAS just a "tall Edge."

Torrie and Dawn Marie: the female Beavis and Butthead.

...are you sure it's Teddy *Bear*? So Torrie is into f(_)RR\| 53xx0r5, too? Geez, she is a freak.

I'd say 5, at least.

I'm expecting them to get some sort of HHH vs. some one else #1 contendership match on the card. HBk vs. Benoit seems set, but I don't think there's anyone really big enough of a star to do a PPV match with HHH. The feud with Edge is supposed to be coming up, but that's supposed to be during the summer, and isn't he going to film his movie and be too busy to appear very often? Maybe they'll give him some sort of excuse to not be on the Backlash show, because it would seem rather odd to leave him off the card without a kayfabe reason. At the very least I'd expect HHH's character to bully Bischoff into some sort of match to get him in line for another title shot. Bischoff and Edge will probably be busy with something this month.

An upgrade like that is a rather risky thing to do. The Sega CD was put out before that format was viable, but this is a case where an upgrade is viable--it's just a question of whether or not people will think it is worth it, and if it is granted enough third-party support to knock people off the fence. Yes, bps, we all know the X-Box is more powerful, but console power alone has never been the be-all, end-all in console wars. Sony still has some very large advantages over Microsoft. Even with the X-Box hard drive, the PS2 isn't losing much ground to Microsoft--they're just providing an extra option for those interested. I think the HDD will do moderately well, and it's priced reasonably (although I will never buy one as long as it is bundled with a Final Fantasy game). $100 for an upgrade and a pack-in game is far more reasonable than any other upgrade in the past that's been introduced (before drastic markdowns, of course), plus that isn't even taking inflation into account.

Well, you can only vote if you're a member. I do agree the votes seem to be very unrealistic in terms of total votes.

Street Fighter III on its way to PS2...

Is 2K2 going to be skipped over here for release, or do you think they'll put it together in a double-pack like they did for 2K/2K1? Yeah, I have it on Dreamcast already (Mario-esque announcer: "pick-a your part-nah!"), but it's a good deal, I think. Man, I can't wait to see the glowing Game Informer reviews. -
By the time ECW got a national TV deal, the general population saw a watered-down, dying ECW that had its best talent and ideas swiped by Vince. Plus, Heyman's poor business sense resulted in him trying too hard to expand too quickly. That resulted in little problems like, you know, him not paying his employees.

I could be wrong, but generally girls are more into the "designer clothes" thing, right? I don't understand that.
-
"Yeah, it's coming, sometime in the future!"
-
That won't be a problem for me. My kids will have all their shots and will be spayed or neutered. They won't be pestering me for money.
-
Cosidering that Albert, Palumbo, HHH are on the show yeah, its back to the 3.6 rating. Orton will probably be on the show, too.

This from the T & A girl who never takes a real bump let alone jobs? Well, I guess I can let this one slide. Someone has to do the T&A stuff I guess. ....The hell?! Make up your mind, damnit. Also, did she see something shiny, lose her train of thought, and answer the wrong question, or something? What the hell does that answer have to do with the question? Torrie doing her "TRL fan" impression. Wait--she's missing the "WHOOOOOO!!" I take it Edge probably knows her a good bit... As for her answer, as we've just discovered, she seems to be unable to make up her tiny little mind about anything. Although at least she finally was given a question she'd know about. The thought of Kidman trying to be "rough" makes for a hilarious mental picture, though.

Color me shocked. No.

So can I. 1, 2. Bashams 3. Rico. 4, 5. Jindrak, Cade 6. Shannon Moore 7. Kidman 8. John Reddenbacher 9. Venis 10, 11. Those "Japanese" guys that hang around with Tajiri. Does Test still work there? However, these sort don't get tons of TV time, time to cut promos, hold the I.C. title, or rub elbows with top stars. Orton does. I'd gladly conceed that for a good portion of 2002, Christian was heatless despite getting the IC title, promo time, and TV time. The booking was partly to blame. Now, look at the Foley feud: until, I presume, this month or so, the feud didn't seem to be so much putting over Orton as it was putting over Evolution, Foley, Rock--and Orton's somewhere in there. The singles match idea was ditched to do a tag match, and Orton beat Foley. So, he come on Raw to cut a bragging promo and maybe defend the IC title? Uh, no. I don't even recall him defending it, but that could just be the meaningless nature of most TV title defenses numbing my memory. Regardless, this booking is supposed to make people care about Orton. How? Tell me, I'd really like to know. Seems like he got enough heat for, say, a chickenshit manager directing his tag team to beat the hell out of some one, though.

I probably do, but "the female demographic" doesn't automatically = liking games that suck. I'd lean more towards thinking those games are played on their little/big brother's consoles, because that's a 100 bucks for a console and 50 or so for a game that could be spent on stuff that's practical and useful. Girls in their early teens generally don't have that much disposable income. Although, yeah, SOME ONE must be buying them. I guess these young female gamers need to fall pray to shitty licensed games for a while before they learn. Hey, Acclaim--there's a market for you to sink your vampiric fangs into after your top execs renew their pact with Satan. I'm pretty sure some of these girls looooove Final Fantasy.

One guy: "Randy sucks!" If the guy seems to lack the things that will make him a successful placeholder star (i.e. not a Rock, Hogan, Austin--but a star with stable appeal who can be an excellent buffer at the top until one of those appears), then it's a wasted effort. Except for actual wrestling, Batista is outshining Randy Orton by leaps and bounds. Randy's slowly improving as a worker, but the fans don't get his character and it hasn't been proven he can sustain heat. Yeah, they hate him for beating Foley, and when they extend the feud probably he'll get some decent heat. However, when Foley's gone, will they remember or care about it? Randy's heel character is about the most bland, poorly defined, ambiguous one of the roster. The test is--would a complete stranger be able to get into this character and cheer/boo him based on first impression? I personally don't think so. Although as long as he's kicking Foley's ass, I'll enjoy watching him.
-
Well shit, I could've told you Cena had more cross-over appeal BEFORE last night too. This isn't a knock on Eddie by any means, but the thing people have to understand is that a lot of his huge pops were... how should I put this... ethnically based. For a while there Smackdown was doing a lot of shows on the west coast in cities with big Latino populations, so of course Eddie would be cheered on like a god there. But that doesn't necessarily translate to the general audience. Eddie is still very over with them of course, but maybe not as much as you'd think from watching a San Diego show. While that's probably true, the basis for the comparison is very weak. ONE CROWD, especially a Detroit crowd, isn't exactly the barometer you want to use to gauge someone's appeal. That would be like "Damn, that guy got an incredible ovation tonight--we'd better put the title on him right away."

a) To artificially give SD more picks while still using one to remove Heyman from his current GM role. b) To stroke HHH's ego. c) To move a whole tag team without having to use two on-air picks to do it. Take your pick.
-
Except for Big Show, but he's on SD. A-Train's got piercings, though.

Congrats, WWE. Enjoy it for the two whole weeks (give or take) that it lasts.
