I've heard of two different Plan 9 DVDs out. The first one I know has a good bit of extras, and has a cover that resembles a (the?) movie poster: http://half.ebay.com/cat/buy/prod.cgi?cpid...=1877&meta_id=3 The second one isn't as nice-looking on the cover (with those ugly colorized shots), but supposedly includes a documentary feature as well: http://half.ebay.com/cat/buy/prod.cgi?cpid...=1877&meta_id=3 Anyone have the harder to find (around here) second one, or both, and can give me a rundown? I know the features are listed there, but they don't go too in-depth and you never know which ones are accurate. Or would you guys say both are worth getting?

WWE News: Goldberg's Future, Edge, SD!, Stern
AndrewTS replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in The WWE Folder
Are you sure about that, Choken? I'd rather have them mysteriously team up than appear in high-larious skits where they're emerging from the "green room" as smoke pours out. Then, in a tie-in with those marijuana commercials, they'll be announced for a tag title match, then again, but won't come out because they're too busy getting stoned. -
...or, he wants to be in control of WWE when Vince croaks.

NG seems to have both in spades, however. And when your demo game has an annoying camera, that doesn't bode well for the game itself.

Okay, point made. However, I'll stand by the rest, especially since RVD + Booker > Rikishi + Scotty, even in the marks' eyes. -

Scotty and BC were the team--Rikishi would be their tag team partner for six-mans, but they never really competed as a team when it counted (tag team title matches). -

No argument here. But a week or a day post-show, ratings-wise, they have what they want. The Miller Lite Catfight Girls over Stern? Hmmm... You'd be pushing it... How so? Kitana Baker..yum, yum. Also, their acting was so lame, bad, and Woodian that it was entertaining. I wonder when they're going to call up this Holegun guy they were excited about. How about with short, dark hair and acting more serious? -

He's right, because in that time span, Raw have had a necophilia angle, two World Heavyweight Championship defenses against Scott Steiner, two against Kevin Nash, four against Goldberg and Goldberg's been the World Heavyweight Champion. And that's just some of Raw's greatness, folks. Aside from the main event angles, Smackdown has just been abyssmal. Take away Eddy's title win these days, and what are you left with? A bunch of midcarders and jobbers doing nothing, and Sable and Torrie parading their skank-asses around. CW division vs. Women's division--okay, no advantage there. Both have been booked poorly and the CW matches are too damn short to amount to anything. Tag team division: Advantage Smackdown, because we have one team that doesn't suck (WGTT), one that's a perennial favorite with marks, one heatless team no one cares about (Bashams), and a thrown-together crowd-pleasing team that at least get pops (Kish and Scotty). On Raw, you have the long-time mark faves in Dudleys, 2 teams of heatless rookies (J&C and La Res), and the thrown-together crowd-pleasing team that is at least over. Although, cut out the rookies and Raw would have the advantage. On Raw, you have Christian and Jericho in an angle that, as bad as it is, has at least been built up. Raw's generally been able to do something with most of the roster. Rico, Evolution (yes, I know), Hurricane/Rosey, Richards, etc are at least used, although not in the best way. Raw--has on Austin ALL the time, but Heyman is used sparingly--okay, advantage SD. SD's just a mess of random matches with no clear direction. Since the matches aren't any good because they get no TV time, there's next to nothing redeeming at all. -
I picked up Shenmue II (no swapping discs, praise be!), and the Exhibition disc (4). I don't quite get why you would make a demo disc where so many of the titles are multi-platform. Hm. Well, haven't played all the games, but here's my opinion of the ones I have played: Grabbed by the Ghoulies: another bad Rare game, who would have thought? ESPN--don't care. Magic: The Gath--don't care. TMNT-- Might go with the Gamecube version, actually. Voodoo Vince: Great! Prince of Persia: These controls seem rather clunky--I'll pass and go for Ninja Gaiden instead. Metal Arms: Looks good Oh, Metal Slug 3 is coming out May 5th on the Box! (adds to birthday list)

Street Fighter III on its way to PS2...
AndrewTS replied to Use Your Illusion's topic in Video Games
It doesnt matter, they still run on two different things. Btw SF3 has more animation frames than any GG game. You're kidding--I guess the hi-res fooled me. I honestly can't believe people would want a direct port of the arcade, flaws intact. Tweaking and balancing would certainly do wonders vs. SvC:C, but looks like SNK isn't going to do it. The instant Sonic Boom trick for Remy *is* present in the home version, though. Didn't one of the MK PS1 games allow you to select which version (of the arcade game) to play? It would be a small thing that would shut up everyone if there were an original and arranged mode. -
I said loong ago Word Life would probably be the title, but up until now we've only had Rock and Brock post-title win. So likely they'd want to stick with hot, merchandising-friendly champs, which would be Eddy. Unless Cena's merchandising is hotter than Eddy's.

Yeah, probably. "Want to create one of your favorite wrestlers from times past, or one from another organization or a made up wrestler? Want to keep the roster up to date by making your own versions of new stars? Want to do it without having to build up the stats for a wrestler from scratch every time you make a new one? "TOO DAMN BAD!! "You'll have to begin anew for each and every one. If you want to get the roster more up to date--buy the next game!" I wonder if this will follow the Yukes tradition of the final game having half of the features that were mentioned to be in the game. And WHOOPIE-FREAKIN'-DO on Bra & Panties matches.

"Celebrities apparently give WrestleMania more of a mainstream feel (...), and help to get the show over with non-wrestling fans." For about a week, if that long. I'll take the Miller Lite Catfight Girls over Stern any day, thank you. -

WWE News: Goldberg's Future, Edge, SD!, Stern
AndrewTS replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in The WWE Folder
"WWE has been having talks with Howard Stern about appearing at WrestleMania XX, but Stern confirmed yesterday that he won’t be on the show. Stern wanted $1 million for the appearance and WWE was willing to offer only $500,000. Stern would have likely had a role in the Playboy Evening Gown match." Wow, Vince is a moron. Any unknown asshole could fill whatever role they had in mind for Stern. Of course, there's some controversy!~ surrounding him now so that's good enough I guess. Of course, if Vince had his choice he'd have Michael and Janet Jackson appear at WM. Although we'd end up getting Tito. -
Isn't it bad enough we got HHH's huge cro-magnon skull taking up most of the room on the Shut Your Mouth cover?

I guess I can kind of see the train of thought--but how the hell they'd think it should replace a good story mode I don't understand. I guess with all the work they put into the environments they couldn't give us a story mode. Revenge mode had a bad concept, but the execution is what really ruined it; beating the hell out of guards for 20 minutes straight and driving their skulls into concrete over and over and STILL they won't bleed, for example. Controls that were ill-suited to a 3D beat 'em up, plus really stupid and inane missions killed it dead. Stick to how it was done in No Mercy/recent Smackdown games and we've got something. At least it wasn't Backstage Assault...

If they scrap the HCTP stat system, maybe. If not, yes it will suck, and suck hard.

I thought that was what it was planned to be from the beginning. I thought that was the whole freakin' reason it was called Twin Snakes (yeah, I know about Solidus, but since they didn't expand the game any in regards to that aspect, no reason for the rename). Not that I would want to play MGS2, but since the GC is the only one without a version of it and it is a hit, I'd think making GC peeps wait so long would warrant it, like the GTA double-pack. So either no MGS2 at all, or a really late one. That's really dumb, since MGS2 is *not* aging well. I think people know my mindset well enough to know the answer to that...

-roster size -Haas & Benjamin aren't in the game -only 5 arenas to choose from -Revenge mode (I know you said other than Revenge mode, but it's so bad that it should be mentioned a second time). The gameplay is good--those are just minor details that could have easily been fixed with an update. No, I have no idea what those guys were smoking when they decided to go with Revenge mode. Was some one on the team REALLY BIG FANS of WWE Betrayal? Or was the mode WWE's idea?

..but you pointed out that steroids are illegal. So is marijuana. If someone is a law abiding citizen, they don't get to pick and choose what rules to break. Just saying. Pothead: Um--civil disobedience, man!

So, stick with my PS1 MGS, because frankly there's no sense buying a $40+ port of it and a game I hate?

Yeah--I'm pretty sure he wore the hat and had a Santa-ish jacket on.

Probably the same one he uses for burials, I'd imagine.

Except on the Man Show, of course.
