  1. "So Warriors Splash is more devistating I think." Eh, not much to go on there. That has more to do with Hogan's politics, what with Warrior being about the only guy he couldn't weasel out of doing a job for since he pretty much had to do it. Savage hasn't ever really had a major feud with Andre, anyway, has he?

    Shawn Michaels tears ACL...

Silly, we'd have to see a clean job then.
  3. I'd say right now Brock is superior to Edge or Christian, easily. Christian's offense sucks, although he's a great bump freak. Edge has a lot of the problems RVD does; selling problems complicated by the tendency to fly when he has his legs worked on. The post-Armageddon Smackdown A-Train match, for instance, or the match with Angle where he no-sold the shoulder work.

    Game Informer sucks...

Even X _ _ _ S_ _ _? Although I'll keep in mind that if I find a really good game that may get overlooked, I should share the news with others.

    Good article on Goldberg

Yea, because then they may have actually drew decent money with him and nobody wants that. There ws no reason to sacrifice the entire roster's worth for something that worked in 1998. See also: the nWo.
  6. Agreed completely. If Brock toured the world like Benoit, Jericho, Eddy--he could be head-and-shoulders above the rest as the best in a relatively short time. However, in WWE, there's only so good you can get because of the "WWE style." Angle has peaked already, and his selling problems and tendency to just throw a lot of suplexes when he runs out of moves make him great for WWE, but compared to others on a worldwide scale, not that good. The Iron Man match exposed both guys weaknesses greatly.

    Good article on Goldberg

Choken: once Goldberg lost, his "aura" evaporated along with his drawing power. Without the streak gimmick, nobody cared much about Goldberg.

    Good article on Goldberg

Thank God. Show's gotten much better treatment than most of the ex-WCW guys, however his misuse has more to do with creative than biases towards Vince's homegrown talent, in my opinion.
  9. "Some degree of pain?!" No, he was like this: "aahhh...aaaah..." like he was getting a massage from a Swedish girl.

    Undertaker/Kane history

He never needed the throat device. It was all in his head, and Bearer took advantage of it... And, um, yeah, Taker and Kane's mother was one big, tough momma. She was a hossette.

    Game Informer sucks...

Morgan can be annoying at times, but generally she seems to know what she's talking about and does a decent job. Sessler is flat-out irritating. I can't stand him.

    Undertaker/Kane history

A friend actually came up with a joking explanation for a lot of Taker/Kane's history. Taker and Kane were brothers, and one day while digging in creepy "Uncle Paul's" things, they found a book of Satanic rituals and black magic incantations...a book with a mind of its own. It compelled Mark to read on, slowly perverting his mind and darkening his soul. While performing one such ritual, he set the funeral home on fire, apparently "killing" his brother Kane and his parents. Bearer gained legal custody of "Mark," and had Kane put away in a state institution...Kane was mentally scarred, so much he thought he was physically scarred. He held great power over Mark, and let him know if Mark crossed him, that he could prove that Mark was responsible for the fire, and could get him arrested. Mark's twisted mind was easily bent to Paul's evil whims--hence, the urn "controlling" the Undertaker. Mark grew up, he became incredibly powerful, able to sustain incredible amounts of pain without flinching. So did his institutionalized brother Kane. Paul secretly had Kane train as a wrestler and even wrestle independent events--when the Katie Vick incident occurred. It gave Kane a nervous breakdown that caused him to sign himself into a mental institution. Seeing a chance to make lots of dough off Mark, he urged him to sign up with the World Wrestling Federation, which he did, under the hand of Brother Love, who coined his ring name and trademark original look... Eventually, Paul would decide to manage the Undertaker himself, although Taker's will was so strong it would eventually break free of the evil influence of Paul and the book itself...enter the American badass... Taker and Kane would team up many a time, Taker battling his dark past, Kane battling his childhood trauma and mental instability. When Taker was under the evil influence, he could always defeat Kane...until now. Taker must now do what he hoped he'd never have to do...to defeat Kane, he must embrace his dark past again. He knows also that he must control it, and not let it control him. --- Well, that's the gist of it, at least.

Gamepro's Fun Factor: It isn't as blatantly bad as Game Informer, but has a lot of the same problems. (This review gets 1/8 of a page?)

Victoria talks about the outfit she wore on Raw

"Gail Kim = female Dean Malenko" Close, but she needs more. She will proudly proclaim her Jewish heritage and make it a central part of her gimmick, as she comes to the ring to Jewish folk music, pats herself on the back, campaigns on behalf of Lieberman, and attempts to use Trishelle and Mollycita in her favor as she uses her control of the media to hold down the rest of the division. "Edit: Oh yes Miss Jackie. How about the founder of the new RTC? *shiver* ugh maybe not." Naw, she'll be a Muslim woman who wrestles in thick robes that cover her entire body except for her eyes, and after every botched move she blesses her opponent and praises Allah she hasn't killed anyone yet.

    Game Informer sucks...

I'd heard about it, but back when I stopped reading it it was mainly a bunch of BS mainly trying to be funny more than become a good mag. Maybe it improved afterward. The last mag I really enjoyed was Gamefan. Tips and Tricks is still good, for what it is. But it isn't a traditional gaming magazine since it mainly is...tips, tricks, strategies, etc, natch.

    I nominate Brock...

His post-Mania promo wasn't so great either. Granted, he did land on his noggin.

Update On Goldberg's WMXX Status & Beyond

I think that scenario is likely, but I'd expect it to be more along the lines of "no-sell the spear, kick out of 2 jackhammers, counter an attempted third into an F5, pin, bye-bye Billy." However, why isn't the WWE trying to milk this as a huge money match like they should? Goldie's off shooting a movie and they aren't going to build up this match. Hmm...lame, stupid, and pointless.

    Capcom..

A pain I know all too well. I dunno, it just seems that the old games are really slow now, mainly because you can't dash. They're still fun, just...slow, it seems. Heh, it's been a while since I played the X games, and forgot about the dashing. Yeah, that's another big part, too. The wall-clinging, dashing on the ground and the air, etc made the games play quite different. I forgot all about the games released on Game Boy. The Mega Man Xtremes for Game Boy (Color) wouldn't be much of a big deal to me, though. How are the Game Boy games, though? Anyone play them? I believe there are 6 in total, and the GBA collection lets you play them in black and white or color.

Victoria talks about the outfit she wore on Raw

"......and now we can have a cultural partnership of Trish/Molly. It would certainly attract the stereotypical Hispanic/50-year-old Black Woman viewers." But where's Denzel Washington fit in?

    I nominate Brock...

That bit was great character work. He looked like a giant pussy.

Molly would be against it, and I don't blame her. I don't give a damn how "classy" people make the magazine out to be. However, the wrestlecrap mailbag did have a good point about the current situation: I would concur, even though Jackie wouldn't be showing anything we haven't seen already, and Stacy...well, you know...

    Capcom..

Yup, I have it too. There's one bolt I'm missing and I have no idea where it is. However, I haven't bought any upgrades yet--I haven't needed them yet, but I know I will when I storm Wily's crib. 8 did some things right that 7 didn't. After Mega Man X, it was hard for a lot of people go back to the regular Megaman, who couldn't wall cling or collect a bunch of special upgrades. So 7, while a good game, was overlooked since it was looked upon as inferior because it lacked a lot of the touches in X. Plus, the art style in VII was probably thought of as inferior to the "cooler" new X look. 8 was like a middle ground between the classic games and the X games. Mega Man himself resembles what X would look like at the start of the X games (sans special armor) and the enemies are cartoony but more realistic-looking than in 7. The bolts help you purchase upgrades. The Mega Ball is pretty useful at times too, and a lot of the weapons actually have special uses. Most of the classic Mega Man titles' boss weapons are just different-looking projectiles. In 8, the Thunder Claw is a blatant ripoff of Samus' grapple beam, the Mega Ball is similar to Samus' bombs but also is similar to the richochet weapon in Symphony of the Night when it is kicked., the Tornado Hold aids in getting to high places and can cover your ass when surrounded, the Ice Wave goes along the ground and ices hard-to-reach enemies, the Flame Sword is a short-range melee weapon, Astro Crush is a powerful screen-clearing attack, Homing Sniper seeks out enemies, Flash Bomb explodes on impact, damaging enemies near the impact, and the Water Balloon...is a worthless piece of crap. And yeah, 8 is the first regular Mega Man game like that.

    Game Informer sucks...

I think its Gamestop, but yeah--that's the only reason I get it. However, you have to pay for the membership so it isn't like it is totally free. However, as much as I buy used, I save in the long run. Sure thing.

WWE News from the 2/23 Observer

Think this means the ladder match stip is off? That was the original plan supposedly, but Michaels may not want to risk any further serious injury.
  25. Wasn't Roberts about to be let go, so as part of the turfing out process they tried to kill his finisher? They did the same thing to Bam Bam, I think something similar with Diesel, too. It's just something they'd try to do before letting someone go. The Savage situation was probably just the way it was booked also, but yeah, it was overkill.
