Finally got castlevania rondo of blood (dracula x)
AndrewTS replied to Renegade's topic in Video Games
I don't get the technobabble here, but I wanna know--if I know someone with a burner can I play the game on the DC/PS/etc? Or only works on a computer? -
I picked up a bunch of cheap N64 games used, what with Gamestop doing this "buy 2 used get one free" dealy. WCW/nWo Revenge (49 cents!) Mischief Makers Doom Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness Starfox I also got the SNES Slammasters and Contra: Hard Corps for Genesis.

"Monkey Nipple?" "Time to Play the Game?" "Ruthless Aggression?" "Get Out of My Yard?/This is My Yard?" Funny thing is, as Czech Republic pointed out, "Here comes the pain" sounds like something you might say to your partner just prior to anal sex...

Here's what you do. Next time that guy's working the counter, run around the store randomly grabbing videos. Make sure they're from different sections. Get some stuff from the bottom shelves and, if applicable, some from up high. Then, take them to his counter. Wait until he's unlocked all the cases or whatever he's done, and he's rung everything up. Then say, "eh, changed my mind" and walk right out. Not only did he do all that work for nothing, but chances are he has to personally put them back on the shelves where they belong.

The Spring-off-the-second-rope-bulldog was stolen by Trish for the Stratusfaction, too.

Okay, I had mentioned to a friend that Rico's current gimmick is a ripoff of "Exotic" Adrian Street, and he was curious about him, and was looking up info online, and came across this site: GayProWrestling.com Don't worry, no oiled up pictures of Bradshaw with a rookie wrestler or anything (although they do have those pictures of the Hardy Boyz with just the tag title belts...). There's actually some good articles and stuff there. Even gay fans thought the Billy/Chuck wedding thing was stupid. Not offensive, just stupid and pointless. I now leave you with a picture of Stamboli riding a big cock.

Leave Jeff and Bradshaw jokes at the door please.

I agree. He seemed more like an 80's throwback than the Goldust-Lite he seemed near the end. -

Yuna doesn't post in this folder anymore. -
That's Pat Buchanan, dumbass.

Flair in 2003/2004 has become what Steph was in 2000. Anytime she came to ringside, you knew she would interfere and HHH would win. Is Flair going to get overly conscious about his saggy boobs and get implants, too?

Patrick Ewing, STILL God: You're still wrong. Just about all of that opinion. I'm surprised that all you HCTP lovers have neglected to mention that HCTP has the clear advantage on modes of play, since that actually is a clear-cut advantage. It has all the modes of play that No Mercy has (except that Survival is better than Slobberknocker, since it isn't just one on one and the rewards are actually worthwhile), plus tons more. "Back to CAW's, you have to actually work to make them good, instead of slapping together 3 or 4 CAW's in No Mercy in the span of 3 minutes with the same stats as Jesus Christ." It takes 2 years in Season to make a CAW from scratch to have the real life stats of a real life wrestler that wasn't included in the game (whether because of time constraints or not being in WWE). That's for just one CAW. If you want to put multiple CAWs in the game and get their stats accurate, expect to spend weeks pissing around to do something that in SYM or No Mercy you could do RIGHT OFF THE BAT. Bitching about being able to max out stats in No Mercy is as moronic as those who bitched about Strider 2 for PS having unlimited continues. DON'T USE THEM, MORON!
-
I didn't go on about how "this is better than that." I quoted myself, where did I say anything about that? You were being a hypocrite because you bitched about me saying that No Mercy is superior as a FACT instead of an opinion. I didn't, but you said that HCTP is definitively better, hence my opinion is wrong and your opinion is fact? Hypocrite. I didn't say the CAWs were better. Never did. You're pulling imaginary points out of nowhere to justify your opinion. Corey said the CAW was better. Ask him where he gets that from. However, I feel the CAW in No Mercy focuses on the important stuff. I PREFER it in that way. Happy now? Attire is more important than "Nose 32." Nash's lower body should be as strong as his upper body? A certain wrestler with a neck injury should be as resistant to damage in that area as anyone else? No, that should not be. And no, HCTP isn't perfect, but I'm stating there are games out there that are more precise in determining offensive/defensive power of limbs. No Mercy does that, and HCTP doesn't. That's one reason why I am saying that it is my opinion that No Mercy is superior gameplay wise. It's been stated many times that WWE inflates stats, and who is 6'0" and 150 pounds? Spike Dudley? No one is griping about him not having a fair shake even if he was in the game. Way to completely miss the point. *Cue 5 minutes of constant offense to make a dent in one guy's body part.* Yeah, that'd sure make for an entertaining match that'd be fun to play and watch. Wow, you TOTALLY proved your point there. You're 99.99% full of bullshit, in my opinion. If they found out that have to do 500% more damage to other wrestlers than they need to do to them to win a match, I'm sure they'd be at least 30% unsatisfied. And 78% of stats are made up on the spot, so don't bother to take that last paragraph seriously. Where does "skill in playing the game" have any bearing on "skill of favorite wrestlers?" So, you think they like that someone who isn't as good at the game can pick Brock Lesnar, and have an advantage over them if they pick John Cena or an even heavier one if they pick Rey Jr.? Explain to me a logical reason for this switch over in gameplay? Please, I'm dying to know because I can't think of a single one. Did some massive overload of feedback after SYM demanded "Ay suk @ ur gamz pwlz m8k Brk Lezner and Goldburg stnger than evrybdy elze." Also, who gives a fuck what the majority think if we're talking about which game is actually better? By that rationale a shitty licensed game is better than an actual good game by a no-name publisher that didn't sell well. Everyone in WWE sells like Test? Uh, no. In No Mercy, yeah they'd sell the same way too often, which is better than of not selling at all. Again, how was this such a problem in No Mercy that it couldn't have been added to an improved for HCTP? Again, you're doing nothing to prove to me that HCTP is better, which is the point you're trying to make. If you're trying to prove to me "HCTP captures the feel of the WWE better," bravo because I agree: I think the WWE sucks too.. Moving faster helps you almost jack squat in HCTP, and DOES NOT AFFECT THE EFFICIENCY OF MOVES ONE IOTA!! And doesn't matter how many reversals you do if your opponent can beat you in four crappy moves. He just has to outlast you and hit them and he'll eventually win unless he gets no offense at all. Hosses can jump just as high/far with High Flying moves, do moonsaults/lionsaults/planchas just as well, and basically have advantages to their size and power without accompanying logical disadvantages. That's not a wrestling game, that's a fighting game with poor gameplay balance. Yup, just like SYM and Fire Pro. You, on the other hand, keep saying HCTP is better, but when it comes to the meat and potatoes--the gameplay, you can't come up with a decent argument other than it's "like the WWE is in real life." Whoopie. That doesn't make it a better game. If WWE didn't exist, and a wrestling game like HCTP came out with screwed-up character balance, and favoring of certain types of wrestlers, would it rank better as an actual game than a well-balanced one? No.
-
I guess with all the backstage areas HCTP gets the edge in that aspect. I said "on par" storywise, although No Mercy didn't completely forget "minor" details like you holding a title or having a valet. I didn't say it was a better CAW, I mean it's better for putting wrestlers in the game. You don't have to piss around for 20 minutes putting together a decent face, because of the premade ones. The SD games should have pre-made faces as an option if you don't want to assemble them one-by-one. And you also say... So, something that was done in Fire Pro 5 years ago, is included in No Mercy, and ACTUALLY AFFECTS GAMEPLAY is less important than being able to customize the length of your created wrestler's toes? Yeah, that makes a hell of a lot of sense. The mask edit is a good point in HCTP's favor, but since we actually have Mysterio in WWE now it's not as much a big deal. Gee, you're so right. Those people who watch the WWE and play the games were begging and screaming for unbalanced gameplay after playing games like No Mercy and Shut Your Mouth. Yeah, screw having matchups where you can win based on skill, we need to be able to accurately recreate the epic A-Train squash on Rey that garnered so many huge buyrates and made A-Train a huge star. Seriously, did anyone call for that crap? I don't know of any. Thank you Corey, for this retort: This from the guy who completely no-sold my point on style dictating your proficiency with moves, and carefully picking and choosing which points to respond to. Also, I said No Mercy is definitively better? Let's recap what I did say. You happened to make a good point with: But you say it AFTER you said: Hypocrite.
-
They can do it without botched gameplay balance. Plus, replicating the real life WWE is stupid. A hell of a lot more people probably buy the WWE games than WWE PPVs, and many of the people who buy the games don't follow the product. A good idea, but I'd prefer to turn it off. You wouldn't have that luxury in an AKI wrestling game, so you have to judge how much damage is done the body movements and selling. In HCTP, you have a meter to tell you exactly how much damage is done. Where's the fun in that, at least in 2P? I don't have the game anymore, so if those meters were optional than nevermind. I wasn't referring to the submission system, I was referring to the way that a wrestler's style determines how effective his use of different types of moves are. The submission system is actually one of the improvements HCTP has, but I dislike some of the other "improvements." Nope, I feel No Mercy is way ahead of it. Better gameplay, its on par storywise, and the Create a Wrestler in No Mercy actually lets you make wrestlers that fit into the game. Any of the in-game wrestlers can be duplicated in CAW mode. You can edit people's looks in No Mercy. Your CAWs can have four different appearances instead of one measly appearance. The only complaint I have about the CAW in No Mercy is that you can't edit movesets. I like that you can do that in the SD games, but you're still stuck with the same appearances. I don't get what you mean by "environment."

How much extra? They probably gave you a quarter for SFII, right?

You forget that Hebner has attained the status of GREATEST REFEREE OF ALL TIME to the WWE bookers, just like JR is the Greatest Play by Play Commentator of All Time. You don't question it, regardless of the current performance. You just accept it. Ref bumps, yeah, mucho retarded. Either severely limit it and make it somewhat believeable, or get rid of them entirely. Although that's just one of the problems with referees. The others are that their field of vision is more limited than an enemy soldier in Metal Gear Solid, they're nearly deaf (don't hear a chairshot hit behind their backs even with a fairly quiet crowd), and despite supposedly needing to be licensed, anyone can be granted the power of referee just by slipping the stripes on. Well, probably there are more, but you get the point. How many ref bumps does it take to get to the end of a Wrestlemania?
-
SLASHY!~ You know, I'm *trying* to picture AS as a bitter and angry homosexual, but stereotypes forbid it. So, there's a good reason they call them "gay?"
-
Yeah, but Vince failing is hilarious, and as a fan of b-movies I'm looking forward to this. Don't think it can top Plan 9, but surely they can crank out a classic stinker out of this whole mess.
-
No he wouldn't. He's got about half the charisma as Chris Benoit, and no where near half the skill. He's a midget to boot. Fire him and his wife both.
-
Low-level hosses who are sucking wind within 2 minutes and never bump should be able to last longer than a high-level Cruiser or a mid-sized midcarder who bump way more and win why?! You're basing what you think the stats should be on what stats WWE wants you to think they should be, rather than how they would be for real. That isn't the gripe. The gripe was that they did something more effective last year and screwed it up this time. You forget back/body as well. Considering that no wrestling game has really been any more precise than that, I don't see why I would hate a game based on that.
-
Sorta, it was about six and half minutes, and not a total squash. Brock was the face then, however.
-
How about a return of a healthy Goldust, and nails Mark Henry in the yambag (TM Tazz) with the Shattered Dreams, then rejoins Booker and goes over Evolution's Orton and Batista in a decent little feud?

Scott Keith gave HHH/HBK ****3/4
AndrewTS replied to TheOriginalOrangeGoblin's topic in The WWE Folder
Yup, good points. He should really just be ignored. *Zsa proceeds casts to a Filipino as a Japanese Ninja wrestler, because all Asians look and sound alike* -
Strength of what? A good wrestling game divides up how strong different areas of the body are offensively and defensively. In HCTP, it's just "Strength." Nothing else. In game or real life? I didn't see a separate listing for leg strength, and in real life, the opponent does the move. Although for most Cruiser-style moves, MOMENTUM i.e. speed determines damage. Which looks more damaging, a slow-ass Hurri-Kane-Rana or a quick Hurricanrana? Also, I mentioned not necessarily damage, but effectiveness. Why can a hoss get as much air on a Lionsault or Moonsault or other high-flying move as a Cruiser? What the hell?! And not momentum? Sure, whatever. What if he can't jump far enough to reach his opponent? What if his arm's worked over and it doesn't damage as much? Except for the Bicycle kick, all are power moves and he's a POWER WRESTLER! Of course they will be more effective! Bike kick works well because of his strength, and he moves fast enough to get some decent momentum. Strength + momentum = good damage. No argument there. Now why don't the smaller guys, who in real life bump like motherfuckers, have higher endurance ratings than hosses? Speed is a nearly worthless attribute. The marginal advantage you get isn't worth it because everyone moves at a decent clip anyway.
