    Anyone Miss Kurt Angle?

It's hard to notice that Kurt's absent from the shows when I no longer watch SD. He suffers from the same problem as a lot of guys--entertaining as a heel, horrible as a face. See also: Jericho, Chris. Okay, maybe not horrible, but comparatively lame. Angle always worked well as the cocky prick comedy heel. He can't cut a serious, money promo it seems. Okay, sure...in a video package to hype him he can, but Sean O'Haire was fine in that case. I do miss his matches, though.

    Punch Out Me Too!s

Yeah, but there's no plans that I know of to port SPO to GBA. Plus, Nintendo hasn't even made any further updates. I was really hoping for a Punch Out 64, but we never got it. So, I was hoping for the next best thing.

Im sick of this bullshit xenophobia

Remember folks--Foley is a big, fat manwhore. Just keep that in mind and maybe he won't be as annoying.

    HBK/HHH at SS '02

Not really much/any HHHateration, but HBK criticism. I think it gets a bit of extra credit because we had low expectations going in. We thought HBK was coming back for one last match, and didn't have much more in him. Hell, he seemed to not have much in the tank up until then (botched cross body, super-safe Pedigree). However, it seems that, love 'em or hate 'em, Trips and Shawn worked us all. Damn them! Feel free to give the bashing to the Armageddon match, though...

The Dames' Diatribe on WWE Raw - 12/1/03

Yeah, I suppose, but using the feud with Orton as a precedent, you gotta wonder. For Batista's character, nothing else other than a clear-cut, clean, dominating win will do. If it's a cheap win, Batista looks like a wimp and you somewhat hurt his momentum and character.

The Dames' Diatribe on WWE Raw - 12/1/03

I'd personally be surprised. This feud confused me at first, because it was started on what basis? That they were on opposite sides in the Survivor Series match? Batista didn't even eliminate him, but it seemed like "we need a feud for Shawn. What heels are available? Jericho--busy with love angle thing. Orton--been done. HHH is feuding with Goldberg and Kane. Ah--Batista!" Of course, last week gave HBK good reason to be pissed, but Jericho did blindside him (mistakenly not realizing Shawn didn't hit him on purpose) and nothing was made of that. Shawn said nothing to Jericho, Jericho said nothing about it. It was dropped like that. That kinda kills me because they still hate each other, you have a good way to extend what was a great feud, and you completely ignore it. Sure, Batista/HBK will likely be decent, but it sure as hell isn't Jericho/HBK. If you're not going to do it now, when would you? Although, if they end up with Shawn defending Trish's honor and this feud leads towards a Rumble match, so be it, but I see little excuse for Jericho to have nothing to do when he's completely healthy and consistently one of the most entertaining parts of the show.

The Dames' Diatribe on WWE Raw - 12/1/03

Thanks. I figure expect Batista to be better than Sid or Nash but don't expect Shawn to be in top form all the time, and likely expectations will be met or exceeded. It's worth paying attention to that Shawn seemed to be friends with both those guys, so they probably worked and planned out their matches together. How exactly you think the match will be play out is what I was asking, mainly, too. I'd expect Batista to use a lot of power moves he may never have gotten to use up until now on Shawn, and likely Shawn bumping like a mofo for him. Shawn with the occasional big, hot comebacks. I'm hoping that could even possibly get some good countering sequences in there--am I expecting too much, though? Batista's got some good, stiff-loving moves and should be able to keep a rather quick pace going when he's on offense (none of that constant punching/clotheslining/resting crap he was doing before). He'll likely be rather fired up to be in the ring with Shawn and will probably be trying to bust some good stuff out to make the match memorable. The question of the finish/winner though--I'm not too sure about that. Batista's been booked strongly so far in their feud, though.

Repeat: Anyway, Dames, what do you think of the Batista/HBK match? I think it will be surprisingly good. Maybe ***, although I think they'll still keep pushing Orton, although Batista seems much more impressive these days.

    Punch Out Me Too!s

807? Huh? Is that the full title? Is that an import or a domestic title? It's an import game. However, not sure if you know this or not, but the GBA has no territorial lock-outs, so you can import it and play it on your GBA without any problems. Yup, I know it. Nothing struck my fancy so far that I'd have to import. However, if you're gonna import you usually have to get reamed by those bastards at The Rage. That or get lucky on Ebay, depending on the game. In SPO I remember Sandman not being much of a problem, although I'd get my ass kicked today because it's all about learning the patterns. Still not much regarding my original question--but if the thread stays alive long enough surely some one can answer. Who do you guys think was the most fun to knock the hell out of? Personally--Narcis Prince. EAT GLOVED FURY PRETTYBOY!!

The Dames' Diatribe on WWE Raw - 12/1/03

I attempted to go up Wal-Mart at 6 AM for a Gamecube with Zelda collection. Took one look at the line, turned around and went home to bed. He *did* make himself GM. Well, I guess he's co-GM now after all. Also, Mick Foley is a huuuuge manwhore. Well, most of the time as Commish Foley would do that, although he'd usually wisecrack on the heels. Because Vince only hired Bischoff to make him miserable, humiliate him, and have the personal satisfaction of being his boss. So both McMahons like having Bisch under their thumbs. Jindrak also beat D-Von on Heat!~ So, is Team Green a pair of faces or heels? Although, I didn't really pick up on it at the time that the Duds seemed a little stiff. In retrospect, maybe, but good eye. Does Mick not listen to JR and King? Does Test not understand not to bring her out? Maybe he can send her to the back after getting the heat for the entrance. Kent Brockman -- "Democracy just does not work!" Orton also was looking down Terri's shirt. Orton wasn't talking, didn't stink up the main event, and didn't get too much airtime. He gets a pass this week, because there were far more serious problems to bitch about even if he was all over the show. That whole segment was disgusting on about 30 different levels. Oh, no it isn't... Also, gotta love that a MAN had to come to Stacy's aid in a situation she should have been able to handle herself. Foley should point out that, you know, you can't OWN a human being and therefore isn't not a legal contract provision. Therefore, that provision and possibly the whole contract could be struck down as invalid. Oh, crap...I guess that's the next big push coming up. *cough* WHOREWHOREWHOREWHORE *cough* That was a pretty good match--when Rico and Jericho were in there. Shame that Rico's ring work has generally been very bland, but he can do a great job when he's in the ring with someone like Jericho, though. Does Squeenix really think a significant amount of target consumers watch Raw? I'd think not. Although in most cases, it makes sense. It's Molly on Raw, hurting Lita, so I'm all for it. The actual match didn't click with me as much as it did you, but I guess because I was expecting better. If they don't feud now, that kinda sucks, because I was looking forward to the mic work. Yeah, but what sort of stip/gimmick would actually make sense? I'd expect something like a Cage match, though, with Henry exiting via the door. Mixed feelings on that. Face Jericho seriously freakin' sucks, but it'd have been fresh. Our prophet Anglesault expects Angle/Edge-level comedy revenge next week. Possibly Asscream makes it's big return in some form. I personally will expect a large, rubber, phallic object a la Me, Myself, and Irene. KILL HIM!! Well, at least he isn't dressed like Yuna. Yet. If so, THEN kill him. BZZZT!! I think you're off by a week, though. "Man" rhyming with "man"--it's brilliant!~ Anyway, Dames, what do you think of the Batista/HBK match? I think it will be surprisingly good. Maybe ***, although I think they'll still keep pushing Orton, although Batista seems much more impressive these days.

I don't follow what you mean back in the Great Depression, so could you elaborate, please? Although, the reason I dislikes the sluttish attitude and lifestyle is because it, to me, denotes lack of self-respect. Ripper seems to feel that it's the other way around, and is a manifestion of power and self-confidence. I disagree, because I've known of young girls who shack up with drug dealers who beat the shit out of them, and they stay with them. They won't break up with them, they will think it's their fault. There's nothing that you can do about that, no matter how you try to convince them otherwise. They're hopelessly dependent on their men, and if they're dumped, they have to get another man. Unlike achievement-oriented, independent women with higher goals in mind. Personally, I find intelligent, confident women way more attractive than some bimbo strutting around in next-to-nothing, who expects to get by in life on her looks. I may be in the minority on that. Hypersexuality is a known side effect of sexual abuse, and many of the women involved in many of the seedy industries went through that when they were younger. Yes, there are women who use their sexuality to obtain power, although not literally whoring themselves out. Of course, there are the ones that were abused and haven't seeken out help. However, while only a small portion have been abused, it seems that the major message is that it's okay to just do whatever the hell you want because there isn't any consequences. Maybe some of these celebrities were abused, but to me it just seems they're exploiting their sexuality for money. Of course, literally or figuratively, "all performers are professional prostitutes" (Kevin Dubrow, formerly of Quiet Riot) -- but some performers are so more literally than figuratively. Ripper, if you think so many of us are misogynist, you obviously don't peruse the WWE thread much, where we regularly tear apart the disgusting acts usually found in those shows. These dolls seem to be depicting young women in their late teens/early twenties, but I'm assuming they're marketed to girls 8-12. They're not being marketed at the same ones who are buying them, correct?

    Trish/Jerich & Xitan/Lita

No, they're not associated with Raven's Mystery Ninja. I don't want the Ninja Camerman to be anywhere near being associated with Tori (AKA Tombstone Tori) Blame Tori for that, it was her idea. She wanted to be a ninja (courtesy the Raven shoot video).

You noticed that, too? So did I and a friend of mine. I'm pretty sure she did. Maybe that caught her off guard or she hadn't been cued yet. I think it's more like 70 cents, though.

    HBK/HHH at SS '02

That's the main problem people have with the match, I think. The kippup usually was just as bad as the Hulk Up. However, I have a another opinion on it in the context of the match. I think JR even said it himself. The story of it in the context of the match was that that was the point that the "old HBK" really came to Shawn. Sure, that completely negates Shawn saying that HBK is dead (and was wearing an HBK shirt at the time), but that's WWE logic.

    For the love of God

Yeah. One of the major problems I have with WWE booking is that the heels are constantly castrated. The faces have to get their heat back RIGHT AWAY and by the time the blowoff occurs, the face has already looked stronger and the blowoff usually puts the face over anyway. So how can you really be too worried about the faces if they don't look vulnerable for any period of time? When they don't book heels weakly, they usually book them too strongly (HHH).

The clothes don't make them sluts. However, when they try to emulate the behaviors of many of their idols, that behavior comes with it. Agreed, but these days, the TV is the babysitter. The pop-stars are the baby sitters. The cliques are the babysitters. They do the parenting, and the parents won't parent. Sometimes, the parents do parent but those are the values they see fit to instill in their children. However, their actual behavior off-camera is highly publicized, and usually it's not too good. Often, they themselves will do interviews and come out and describe sexual activity they were involved in, or that they were involved with such-and-such. The kids also don't see what isn't on TV. There's not really much rebellion going on because that's the accepted standard. Kids aren't rebelling, they're conforming. Yeah, there are ones that do things because their parents told them not to, but if the parents tried to teach them those things, but they rebell anyway, and then decide to conform to society--whose fault is that? Puberty, as I said before, is coming sooner these days, so they haven't even been prepared adequately for the whole mess. Even when the parents try to teach kids what's right--they're fighting a tough battle, what with all the other negative influences coming from everywhere else. Either they fight it, or try to shelter the child from those influences. That usually doesn't end well either. If you shelter a child from those influences, then often when they eventually do get exposed, it backfires and they become more likely to be more sexual.
