I have the original Fire Pro Wrestling for GBA, I owned the Saturn's 6 Men Scramble for quite a while, and I really need to get Fire Pro D, but I'm not sure where to pick it up. I'm all set, though, got a DC-X to play it even.

The reason that the Fingerpoke of Doom is considered the beginning of the end is that that was the night Skeevonee made his "Yeah, that'll put butts in seats" comment after revealing that Foley was going to be winning the title. Then, a ton of people watching flipped to Raw. The ratings began to tip in Raw's favor soon after. Of course, that's just when they started to lose the ratings war, not when they really started to go down the crapper. The DDP title reign theory is an interesting one that I haven't heard brought up before.

It was on Confidential--Bret was said to be the sole reason for the fall of WCW.

Hogan/Rock was entertaining, and Jeff Hardy/Jericho was a pretty good match, but other than that I thought No Way Out was pretty lousy. Austin vs. Bischoff does absolutely nothing for me. It was purely for the marks, sure, with the whole point to have that dastardly heel Bischoff get what was coming to him, however the Desperadoes-esque build-up, and the complete waste of Austin's return to face a non-wrestler really dampens it. Plus, JR screeching, howling, and practically orgasming at ringside is something I never want to hear again. Steiner/HHH II was completely uninteresting except for HHH turning face by decking Hebner. Steiner/HHH I and II I liken to Plan 9 from Outer Space vs. a Roger Boreman flick. Yeah, you know which one is the superior film, but you'd rather watch the "worse" one. HHH/Steiner I was so bad it was good. II was just bad.

Nintendo did this with their new Zelda bonus disk too. No more of the "PRINCE DARKNESS 'GANNON' STOLE TRIFORCE WITH POWER!" stuff. Well, Chrono Trigger isn't that bad, it's things like Magus saying "kissed any princesses lately?" to Frog when Magus is supposed to be some evil demonic badass. Then Frog's all like "I have something for you..." and draws the Masamune. It seems rather silly for the medieval swordsman from 600 A.D. to speak like someone you'd expect in the Middle Ages...but he's the only one to do so. Of course, a lot of the demon stuff is toned down, the nature worship stuff censored, and of course alcohol became pop, root beer, and soup. Which becomes more out of place when the "soup" gives your characters hangovers.

Confidential's a repeat--not that I give a shit about "WWE Announcer Cribs" in the first place.

At least London/Spanky are looking good in this match; I thought it was going to be a squash.
-
Somewhat matching tights for London/Spanky at least.
-
Wonderful, London/Spanky vs. FBtheseguys.

Well, if he used it more often, it would fit the criteria for the SUPER FINISHER a la the Tiger Driver '91. That is, if it actually got the win each time it was used.

What do you want Nunzio as Tv Champ? no but a pretty good addition to the cruiserweight roster. The belt's going to start looping like the womens title. Does anyone know who the Cruiser champ even is?

Released about 2+ years ago. but not Funaki ? They need jobbers.
-
This seems to be just a trolling topic, based on John's tone... That was mostly during 2002, although it was blown off just after Rumble 03.

Released about 2+ years ago.

I wonder what is the deal with Kanyon being used only as a jobber. Is it: a) Being a WCW product/ b) Not having "the look." c) Being only about 6 feet tall.

And Morely. Actually, he fell out of the ring on the second one, getting some recovery time. However, I get your point. HHH hasn't really been a draw, Rock's gone for now and Austin's basically retired. I beg to differ with that belief as well. Marks can get into good matches if they care about the characters.

Nope, I agree.

I, for one, enjoyed Square's FF SNES games far more than any of their PS or PS2 releases... Except for the nostalgia packs. By the way, mid-December Square's releasing Anthology and Chronicles again in a Greatest Hits version. I'm currently playing through Chrono Trigger again on Playstation. It's the first time I've played this version, so I gotta start from scratch. However, the new cutscenes are very cool. Don't like the loading, but I've gotten used to it. It's a shame they didn't do what they did for FFIV, and revise the dialogue. Some corny lines kinda hurt the game. Anyway, I have heard that Square wants to make a new franchise out of Front Mission (i.e. backup in case people get sick of Final Fantasy).

I just heard from a friend that Cat was announced as "the hardest working man in sports entertainment." ...please tell me that isn't so. It's not only a shameless ripoff, but makes ABSO-F***ING-LUTELY NO SENSE!! Yeah, sure. It certainly fits a guy who only got his job in WCW because he taught the boss' kid karate.

It started with her trying to imitate Ernest Miller (which sucked) before going into the hoochie on the dance floor stuff. Just a waste of ten minutes. Eh, about one minute or so of the hoochie dancing is alright. It was the other nine minutes that were boring and brutal to sit through. So, how's it compare to last year when she had a quick T&A match vs. Dawn Marie? Of course...that was during *that* angle. The T & A match at least pretends to have something to do with wrestling. But then again, it was during that angle, so call it a draw. Oh well. I can take comfort in knowing that if Torrie is involved, then perhaps the whole Cat stint is doomed.

Actually, now that I'm getting into the groove of things, I'm about 95% sure that I don't think I'm giving it up, for now anyway. If things get a little too hectic in my schedule, then I might drop it... Dames Dames, is it just me, or do you stick JHawk with the task of reviewing the shitty(er) show? Or is it just a coincidence?

...you lost me.
