"No Vince McMahon? No McMahons at all? That's like Christmas coming a month early!" As horrible as SD has been lately, you still manage to look on the bright side. *Takes away Downhome's Most Optimistic award and pins it on JHawk* Let it be known that I'm not about to watch a show that has both the Cat and Torrie in a single segment. However, at least this will allow me to keep up with the storylines should we get a good SD one of these days again. It's nice to see that they're trying to build up the Benoit title chase by having Benoit run through Team Lesnar. It's a classic, sensible storyline. However, why did we have to see a match for Morgan AND Jones, and the actual opponents were the same as last week, just switched around? Since you watched the show, I'd like to ask how the announcers are building up Benoit, and how the crowd is reacting. I prefer "Randy Oatbran," which was more or less coined by someone else. I think only Anglesault calls Orton "suckbag," JHawk. What's the point in making Jones look credible? I'd take Demott and Gunn over Jones and Morgan anyday. Granted, Morgan's young enough to perhaps not suck someday, but Jones is a lost cause. Last week, Jones used a tilt a whirl sideslam, actually. So it's not the first actual move, not even on TV. He used a gutwrench slam in a dark match I saw. What was up with Eddy/Benjamin? If Chavo was healthy (kayfabe-wise), I'd figure WGTT vs. Guerreros for a title shot. However, as it is can you tell me exactly what the hell is going on in the tag division or who the next contenders are? Bashams are still the champs, right? Although I seem to recall Eddy and Chavo each single-handedly faring well against them in handicap matches, which makes the heels look like wimps. Um...I don't get it at all, but in WWF No Mercy for the N64, you had to beat Taka to qualify for the Rumble match...yet he'd be in the Rumble anyway EVERY time. Chalk it up to WWE logic, in which NO lapse in logic, intelligence, or sanity is too great. I'm guessing she showed complete lack of class or dignity, and was shaking her ass around and generally looking like a stripper wanting a pole. Cena vs. Benoit next week should be worth watching. I understand they wanted to save the match, since hardly anyone was watching this show.

I went with the official 251 block one, and it seems to be holding up very well. Ugh...I went up towards my Wal-Mart...store's yet to open, but there's a line waaaay out that wraps around a side of the stores. I don't know if all of them came to get a Cube or if there's other big deals they're anticipating, but I figure that demand is going to outpace supply, and besides--money=time. It's not worth it to me.

I always thought it extremely tedious, albeit rewarding, but to each his own.
-
I thought that was an archaic practice in this day and age... Isn't that far from required in this game?
-
It was made in America, had rather lame character designs, and wasn't really a traditional RPG?
-
*Yawn* I don't know if Hyatte was ever, you know, "good," but he sure as hell isn't now.
-
It's sold out on the site...gotta brave the stores tomorrow.

Some of you are probably thinking "who cares?" However, that likely means you haven't played the original game. Shantae for Game Boy Color was originally an SNES game that came out for the GBC after many delays, published by Capcom. It's a very cool, innovative platformer bursting with personality, great art and gameplay, with only one flaw to complain about (enemies respawn too close to you, so you have to move quickly after defeating one). Gameplay featured RPG-like towns (where you can buy subweapons and relics that give you new attacks), dances which teleport you and morph you into different animals. The original game still looks like an SNES game, with the great graphics and animation, so this one should be even more impressions. If they fix that up, tweak a few things, you've got an awesome title to look forward to. Oddly, development on this title has been going on for about a year, yet they act as if this is news. Check out here for an older preview.

The Cat AND Torrie? Shoot me.
-
After that, Game Shark essentially took over for the 32-bit systems and beyond Same shit, different name Well, I don't think it's the same company.
-
In plain English, I believe it basically acts as a ROM patch, altering the internal lines of code that the game system reads, causing alterations in the gameplay. Whatever happened to Galoob and the Game Genie anyway? It never went beyond 16-bit. I think I remember something about the makers of the Action Replay (which did exist during the 16-bit days but was far, far less common) suing over the Galoob device.

If this follows the usual pattern (as well as being like the games), this movie should be astoundingly lousy. Trish seems too short for the part, although she does have the muscle mass, flexibility, and as mentioned by pinjockey, has her advantages.
-
With a top hat, a cane, and midget clowns...yeah, that's the ticket.
-
What does that mean? Okay...sure. "Some" may also feel that Vince is responsible. There's nothing as overt as HHH's games going on, but sucks to hear this if it is true. Angle won't be around much longer I don't think, but if Brock pulls politics it could be a problem since he'll be around a long time. That's a rather awkward wording there.
-
By "remake" just exactly what are we going to see improved? I assume graphics/sound, but battle system, translation, etc? For Phantasy Star, I mean. (Hopes the Phantasy Star series revives to give Final Fantasy a kick in the ass.)
-
Isn't the One and Only Raw Thread supposed to be used for that purpose, lest people make a bunch of topics about similar things from Raw?
-
Prediction: once again, Savage begs for Hogan to face him.
-
Hope he's okay....I think it may be hard to get Stevie to agree to having anymore matches with him. Or for that matter, having anyone else wrestle him.
-
You mean like, uh, Faarooq? Among African Americans yeah, but we're assuming WWE wants a "foreigner." It would take a good while to mold an Olympic wrestler into a decent WWE-style performer. Kurt and Brock managed to do it, but other than pulling off suplexes and doing some of the mat stuff, "pro" wrestling is entirely different from "legit." Besides, a lot of the "legit" wrestlers frown on "professional" wrestling, so you might encounter a lot of reluctance. It would be far easier to use teach an OVW guy who has done amateur.
-
Tonight! Bradshaw vs. Al Kay-Duh! If Bradshaw loses he MUST kiss a Muslim prayer rug! The stakes have never been higher bah gawd! As for good/decent wrestlers...well, Tiger Ali...wait, he really sucked. I guess you'd have to rely on Vince's favorite ethnic group that can pass for any other minority--the Samoans! But who? I'm sure there's an OVW guy that can pass for Russian. Find a big guy who can do the amateur stuff (like Brock can), teach him some sambo, have him grow out the body hair, voila!

This is a fucking great idea. So, basically they make a real-life Zangief?
-
Oh, get off it. OMG, IT'S WRONG TO BE FRENCH!!!1111 As commanded by Ironhead Haynes.
-
That was it? That's right up there with Spoiler (Highlight to Read): CONGRATULATIONS! that plagued more games back-in-the-day than I can remember And in many Japanese-derived games... Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Congraduration!

I think the part that annoys people is that HHH is claiming that people need to improve their ring work to become a main eventer. We all know that hard work doesn't make you a main eventer in WWE. You have to be the lucky one chosen by Vince. That usually means you have to be big, home-brewed, and using a persona Vince created. HHH didn't get over by having a ton of old-school matches with lots of restholds and careful pacing. He got over by being shoved down the fans' throats, given tons of wins, having several garbagey matches with the likes of Foley and Austin, being given tons of airtime after bagging the boss' daughter, having her turn on Vince and taking the WWE shows hostage and running it as the "McMahon-Helmsley Era." Yeah, along the way he started to improve his wrestling, and the Iron Man match with Rock was memorable indeed. Yet, the good matches came after/during the push, not before. As for the persons he was referring to--RVD must be one. Jeff, though?! Dude...he's been gone for 8 months or so. Remember that also this was the same guy telling the SD workers during the SD6 period that they don't know how to work.

I suppose you're referring to the ones who bitch about... *plane explodes* "I see their parachutes! They're okay!" Or... *building blown to bits* "It's too bad this is Sunday, or there might have been people in that building." "HFIL"/"next dimension" ...and so forth--yeah, I agree about that. Yeah, they want to tone down the violence, but there are certain series that you just shouldn't do it to.
