Yeah, I love SvC. I'm shocked at how well the games play because you wouldn't think the pad would be good for fighters. Yet, here I am, pulling off Siberian Suplexes and Spinning Piledrivers effortlessly. It's kinda like every fighting game is Pocket Fighters with different characters.

I think some one was wanting a Sega Master System.
AndrewTS replied to AndrewTS's topic in Video Games
I talked with my brother in law. He lives in New York with my sister and doesn't have net access, so it might take a while to get the games if interested. Anywhere, here's the games he's got he's willing to part with (he's got quite a few in total, but no Phantasy Star). After Burner (cart only) Alf Double Dragon Krusty's Fun House I think I know which ones people will be interested in... Except for Afterburner, all the games have the boxes and instructions. So, if there's any takers, give me an offer (PM maybe) and I'll forward it to him. -
The One and Only SMACKDOWN! 10-09-03 Thread
AndrewTS replied to BifEverchad's topic in The WWE Folder
How sad that the inaugural edition of the Canadian SD thread will probably be for the worst Smackdown since...well, didn't the Al Wilson shows at least have good matches? So--5 pages max? -

My brother in law has some Master System games--I could give him a ring and see if he'd be interested in selling any. -
Okay. More people watching SD than Raw restores a little of my faith in humanity, but the fact that Raw still draws a decent audience still is a heavy burden to bear.

At this rate of move bannage I think the real question is how long until feuds are settled with an interpretive-dance-off. JR: "MICHAELS! SETS UP FOR HIS TRADEMARK TRIPLE-LUX!" Lawler: "But BROCK! BROCK LESNAR COUNTERS WITH A BEAUTIFUL DOUBLE AXLE! HA HA!" JR: "These men are putting their bodies on the line!" Ok I realize those are figure skating terms, I'm sorry I don't know any interpretive dance terms. Nice try, but it would have worked better if you used ballet terms. Despite what JR says, at this rate it WILL be ballet. ...would Vince push smaller guys THEN?!
-
Isn't that the other way around?
-
Pfft--you seem to forget about Elf, which will suck far worse than either.
-
Just get it over with, teach JR to use the gee-tar, and he can use his working half of his mouth to sing as best as he can like Hank Williams. "ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBA--er, PHYSICAL INTENSITY!?!?!"

The way this policy is going, and Vince's nostalgia kick, the new WWE games are going to be re-releases of the old Genesis/SNES titles, but they'll just blur out the WWF logos and give the wrestlers pot-bellies.

I did some searches--came up blank. You're actually better off if you could find the storage center for the Genesis games. I ordered a big-ass order on Ebay one time and as part of it I got one. It's like one of those DVD/VHS storage cases with the shelves that slide out, but they were designed to fit Genesis games. I hate how you can't find many Genesis games without the cases--ditto for SNES. I never understood how people could throw those away. Those were one of the many things I liked about Sega in the 16-bit days. That is, until they went with the paper boxes like Nintendo and the freakin' Xerox instructions, blah. They started that with Sonic & Knuckles I believe. Oddly, I was able to find Sega CD long boxes one time--like the cases first-gen PS1 games came in. I remember before Sega got out of hardware you could order Genesis stuff off their site including cases for the games. So there might still be places you can get them, used at least.

The story is as fun as reading an instruction manual. That's unfair. I've read plenty of video game instruction manuals that were very entertaining.

So's Angle.

Vince will be calling this a "home run" show, though. Let's get this straight... 20 minute opening interview featuring 3 McMahons and Sable; squash matches; no matches over 5 minutes; Taker is going to kill the FBI again; Cena/Angle battle rap to continue their doomed-to-suck feud; Londan debuts, gets squashed; Gowen returns, gets squashed; ruining Show, Eddy, and Chavo; and the show ends with a shit truck. WHAT THE FUCK?!??!?!?!
-
Non-spoiler--the show is awful. Don't waste your time.

.... What have you done to my beloved Smackdown, Vince? WHY?! WHYYYYYYYYYY?!??!?!??!?!

Metal Slug 3 Not Coming Stateside 10/7/2003 SNK Neo Geo USA's attempt to publish Metal Slug 3 for PlayStation 2 in the United States has been prevented by Sony Computer Entertainment America's third-party concept approval process, according to sources close to the game's publication. The PS2 port of the cult favorite side-scrolling shooter was released in Japan in June, and SNK discussed its plans to release the game in the United States at E3. It was tentatively scheduled to arrive in December. However, it appears that it will now only find its fans among import buyers. Source: 1up.com ----------------- I'm assuming Metal Slug Advance is still on, but FUCK YOU SONY!! Not enough polygons I guess? Anyone know of any handy devices to play import games on PS2s?

What? No "Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeean--WHOOOOOO!--BY GOD.....GENE!"? Whose the jailbait chick in your banner, Maccam16?

I'm jealous. I wish I could find the Master System anywhere (thrift shop, retro game stores, anywhere but eBay) and the games too. One of my brother-in-laws has two Master Systems. Both work, but one has a broken pause button and the other freezes if it is moved at all during gameplay. Man, a pause button on the console itself--we've come a long way.

Three new additions to my GBA library... King of Fighters EX Advance ($13) Lunar Legend ($20) Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo ($30)

I hope you're right Sakura--anywhere, here's a full report... I'll be getting this biznitch one way or another.

If you take out Goldberg, you get 100,000 dollars, which will make you, like, fabulously wealthy and you can buy a gignormous house and limos and Porches, etc. Methinks Trips doesn't know the value of $100,000 these days. Oh, and also you'd be considered for a spot in Evolution. He did it in a long, drawn out way that had the crowd chanting "boring," plus he stole DiBiase's "everybody has a price" catchphrase. Apparently DiBiase is just "somebody" to Trips.

When they have a Raw featuring no over-the-top angles, all angles involving wrestlers only, decent writing and continuity, the right booking, a main event push for Jericho imminent, decent matches, and underlooked guys like Dreamer and Richards getting more TV time.. Just to piss us off, that would draw a 2.9 and Vince would go back to the old "tried and true" methods.

I checked out some info on it, but even with pictures I'm a little unclear on how it works. How much trouble is it to use? If there's quite a bit of trouble with each use, I may go with the flip top. If not, I may go with the slide tool.
