I doubt as funny as Dokken--check out the cover of the "Under Lock and Key" album....

What is there some rule that says that I MUST know which one came first....... besides it was a simple question you don't have to get all pissy about it. How is that "getting pissy?" I didn't make a smart-ass remark or insult you. I just expressed surprise since I thought that, like it or hate it, that Virtua Fighter was a very well known game. It basically created the 3D fighting genre. It seems like someone asking which came first, SFII or MK. I guess it's a testament to how popular Tekken is.

I found a copy of Fire Pro G, for Playstation, at a local flea market. The ones who sell it show up every week and guarantee the games. I asked if this would work on a US PS2 and they weren't sure, but said I could take it back if it doesn't work. Well, I tried it, and it doesn't work. It seems to not recognize the disc. I'd still like to play it if there's a way I can get it to work on my PS2. I had an original model Playstation that would play imports with the Game Enhancer add on. Any of the current game enhancers out there--Gameshark, Action Replay, etc play imports? If not, I guess I just have to take this back.

I like that. No worrying about "experimenting with a new sound" because it's going to be the usual bad ass blues rock they've done from day one. I actually kinda prefer Bonham AC/DC, because there were more comedy songs, but either's fine with me. I missed the days where songs had to be sneakier about sexual innuendo. Sure, many songs are still pretty blatant, but most modern groups don't even attempt to be clever about it. As for JT--I don't care. I never watch MTV, I don't think I've heard his music played at all in stores or anything, and I don't listen to any radio stations that play pop music. So it doesn't piss me off like most overplayed, omnipresent pop crap does. Considering I fit that category and never heard of it, I think the entire point of it was missed. Kinda pointless to diss someone behind their backs.

At least Shelton didn't say he was "gonna get in yer BUTT, Bradshaw, it won't take long..." Then Bradshaw would argue with him over who'd be the bitch.

What the motherfucking fuck?! Dio does not in any way, shape, or form suck. Some of Def Leppard's stuff is catchy, but I don't want to like them.

Is there any technical difference between "glam" and "hair?" Are there bands that kinda meet both? I thought Poison was glam.

BAR: where did you get the Maiden tickets? I went to the Maiden site and I think it was ordered through CC.com. Ticketmaster didn't even seem to realize that Maiden was going to be playing. It showed up NOWHERE on the site for me and I only knew because I checked the upcoming events listing for Post Gazette Pavillion. And this...is bullshit.

Oh, and ON-topic, I voted for Quiet Riot. Kevin DuBrow is a funny sonnuvabitch, it's where Randy Rhoads got his start, and their songs...well, mostly sucked aside from the Slade covers, but oh well.

"Copy controlled" as in you shouldn't be able to, but somebody on the Maiden MB already claims he's been able to do it so it doesn't work. It probably just would require more high-end equipment to do so. Supposedly there's difficulty if you try to play the CD on a computer even, depending on the PC. I'm not very computer literate so I'm not exactly sure of the details. Chalk it up as another weak attempt by record companies to stop piracy. Nevermind it discourages buying of CDs if you can't rip songs to make CD mixes for personal use, and fails to stop downloading of music since most CDs can be downloaded in their entirety BEFORE the CDs even hit stores. I'll be buying it myself and listening on my CD player, so it's none of my concern. I'm not sure what version the US is getting, but the ones that are "Copy Controlled" have a sticker on them saying so.

I've heard lots of positive feedback about the new album, musically. I won't defend the cover, though. Absolutely shitty-looking, and while I was a bit disappointed at the Rock in Rio and Brave New World album covers, at least they aren't this lame-ass CG shit. I've yet to find anyone who doesn't think it sucks. Even the guys who maintain the Maiden site seem to think it is BUTT-ugly because they don't show the whole thing. Did Derek Riggs stop doing the covers and concept art or something? There's some controversy about it being put on a "Copy Controlled" CD, but don't know if that's here or just in Europe, because versions of it on regular CDs are out, too. Have a blast, BAR. I saw them live last month and they were awesome. However, they played mostly the classic stuff, but I guess they had a lot of material to cover of course. Nothing from Brave New World was played other than "The Wicker Man."

By the time Chinese Democracy comes out, I think China will BE a democracy.

really just need someone to come up with a Col. Sanders gimmick. and instant endorsement from KFC Mike Sanders' new gimmick. Team him with Roadkill.

Lita's no worse than Gail or Jackie or Ivory or Trish.

I'm flabbergasted someone asked which came first--Tekken or Virtua Fighter...

The One and Only Smackdown! HCTP Thread
AndrewTS replied to Insane Bump Machine's topic in Video Games
If they are going to stick Torrie, Sable, and the like in the game and not allow me the opportunity to make them bleed like any of the male characters, then it's not worth it. Nearly every fighting game has a plethora of female characters in it. Guess what, you can beat the shit out of women in there too, and many such games feature blood. -

And--this is a reason not to do so why exactly? There's no "right to not be offended" in the Constitution. Fuck the wussies. Everyone bleeds. You want idiots to play this game and think if you beat the hell out of women they WON'T bleed, so it's okay? If there's controversy about it, well, they only bleed if you go into exhibition mode and do it yourself, no one is making you to do so. Plus, the controversy would sell more copies anyway. Indeed. Randy Orton--goodbye. So long, Batista. Adios, Goldberg. You can still edit movesets and pretend that they're actually different wrestlers. In Just Bring It I made Albert "Little Vader" and Test became "Heavy Metal Windham." -
Killed it? Had HBK wrestling HHH at Slam instead of the originally planned Nash? Oh but we were rewarded with 3 months of that shit the year after. Lucky. Yeah, but the HBK match was added to a strong card to make the best PPV of the year 2002. It helped. The Nash matches just capped off already-shitty shows, so it turned out alright in the end for anyone who just buys the good stuff.

Russo almost beat him to it when it was planned that Ric Flair was Stacy's dad. Actually that would be a double-play of adultery AND incest! Nice work! Supposedly a girl called "Nikita" in the independents will play Vince's lovechild in an upcoming angle. If her and Scotty both turned out to be, Vince could use that to get his incest angle we know he wants to do finally done. And the reason Henry and Bradshaw seem to have been "traded" for each other...is because a wizard did it.

Revenge mode, which I didn't read about initially (just checked out the gameplay parts) sounds like it will really hurt the game. Geez... Sounds like an induction for Video Wrestlecrap along with Backstage Assault, In Your House, and the Wrestlemania Arcade stragety video.

Works for DoA That's a little different--DoA was sold entirely on the basis of boobs. There's some decent gameplay there and some cool ideas, but poor balance and the sense of "I've done this before" throughout, though. Sakura: Okay, sure--I guess it's just that it's one of the more unique features to Tekken, and any semi-skilled player can bust 'em up easily. I don't think I've seen a great deal of press covering the 10-strings. Sure, Gamepro posts them all the time in their absolutely ass "stragety guides," but I don't think I heard any magazines so much as mention them when Tekken 4 was hitting the streets. Instead, I heard mainly about the new characters, enclosed arenas, new moves, etc.
-
If that's because of the gameplay that you prefer it, that's fine. I think the Tekken titles stack up quite well against it, however aesthetics are extremely important in the modern gaming marketplace. Similarly, people will buy just about any piece of crap if it has pretty graphics. Take a look at FFX's sales. *is shot by Sakura* Character design is just another aspect of aesthetics. Many gamers will go for graphics over gameplay, and cooler characters over lame ones--regardless of the gameplay.

Yeah, but I had room to move my 16-bitters to my room afterward, at least. And a friend of mine still has the N64 and No Mercy, and I borrowed it this week. It seems like a waste of space to keep a system for one game. Since I had borrowed and beaten Super Mario 64, rented and beaten Paper Mario, there was no other reason to me to keep it. I only owned Revenge, Zelda 64, VPW64, WM2000 and No Mercy for any length of time. And I'd beaten and sold Zelda 64 and sold the others so I was down to the one game--No Mercy, until I got rid of it and the N64.
