Goldberg will not be World Champ. He might have been if he'd been massively over and stayed that way for a while. So now he's fighting an uphill battle of poor booking and politics--eh-eh, it just ain't gonna happen. I think we might get a Goldberg-Kane "monster vs. monster" feud though, with the winner to job to HHH or something like that.

Yeah, I don't really trust the source either. It's like they're running this to just piss people off. I'm certain they really did love it, though. Hardly any of that pesky wrestling Vince hates, plenty of S.E. crap. Plus the show closed with an over-the-top ending that will be henceforth known as "Wrestlecrap Definition for 8-29-03."
-
No extras? Lame. I'll just buy the VHS then.
-
*bump* so maybe someone will contribute to this thread.
-
That's what it sounded like to me.
-
Looks like a decent show. After seeing Raw, I have zero complaints about A-Train, Big Show, and Taker on SD, because I know it could be far, far worse. NO DRAGON, THOUGH?!
-
I can't think of a single reason anyone would want to watch that. Too bad, Vince maybe was counting on probably bringing Mae Young onto Smackdown to please all those elderly West Palm Beach SD viewers.

I don't know how to stop caring too much. How do I do that? For starters, mute the TV whenever La Res show up. Then you don't hear the Vince-McMahon-approved deluded political rantings that make Warrior's diatribes sound lucid, truthful and sensible. Then you should be able to see La Res for what they really are: crappy wrestlers with an evil foreigner gimmick who have really bad matches.
-
That's true, but yet it still gets strong ratings. Not great ratings like it used to, but the fact that it is still on the air and doesn't look to be dropped by TNN anytime soon is very, very sad.
-
It's one of those rare occasions when I agree with B.B. You seem to care waaaay too much about La Res than is healthy.
-
Plus, Vince is a rich prick, and therefore he's going to support Republican viewpoints--as well as his own messed up ideals.
-
Based on what? Women in Japan are conditioned to be socially immature, submissive, giggling idiots--in addition to the aforementioned inequality in jobs.
-
It would be better if they writers didn't get their political views from the backs of cereal boxes. It's almost universally accepted that even though some people were against the war, it's necessary to keep troops there during the rebuilding or else Iraq would be left worse than it was and another would-be dicatator would seize power, making it all for naught. Would mad Conway sound like an idiot since he wanted to leave a war-devasted country without apparently doing a single thing to fix it any longer. I think that was supposed to be intentional, to make them look bad ("straw man" arguments), but considering what they did with Steiner/Nowinski, it's a little unlikely.

This is the point that I have reached. I've moved way beyond expecting Raw to be good. It's like the marquee says: come here to discuss the latest Smackdown, or bitch about the latest Raw. Come on, we've seen far worse Raws than that. Katie Vick? Any of the 2002 shows where 1/3 of the show was HHH? Everything on the Vegas show except for the TLC, which itself was booked only to put over a guy only booked to job to HHH? Raw Is Gay Porn during the Steiner feud (and around the same time HBK valeted for Jeff Hardy)? The weekly rotating nWo members saga? Bradshaw main eventing right after the split?
-
Either foolish optimists or lovers of unintentional comedy. If not for the Raw thread here, I'm rather certain I wouldn't bother with Raw. Plus, I'm an MST3K fan; I've seen far worse. Smackdown is unquestionably the better show, but since WWE shits around and shits around and never actually produces many new stars--another problem.

Let's think about it logically. 1. Vince is a moron. 2. Vince books what he wants. 3. Vince likes crap. Therefore, we can deduce that at least some morons like to watch crap. Not necessarily exclusively, but at least some. 1. The only way you can watch a show as crappy as Raw and think it is good would be if you were a moron. 2. Many marks are morons. 3. Hence, many marks think Raw is good. Raw sucks, but there are always morons who watch it and like it. This also includes any person less intelligent than morons, and slightly more intelligent than "moron." "Idiots" are likely easier to please than even "morons." I know for a fact that up at the group home my mother works at, the mentally challenged who live there have no complaints about Raw.

The Coach heel turn would have made more sense against Rock.
-
As I was discussing with some friends earlier--just watch: over the next however many weeks we'll see Goldberg get his heat chipped away at, until HHH looks triumphant the week before Unforgiven. Then come Unforgiven night, HHH will still hold onto the title, probably by DQ. Then there won't be much interest for a rematch, and if there is, Survivor Series would end with HHH beating him as clean as a heel can win.
-
It's funny how he tries so hard to be that classy Flair-wannabe, but can't even stick to that character. That also could signify the WWE's opinion of all their fans.
-
If local ads and the Giant Center's website are any indication, then you're right on the money regarding Shane-Kane and HHH-Goldberg at Unforgiven. That's odd--it's practically logical. Unforgiven in Hershey...man, I could go there if I wanted, it's a 3 hour drive or so. If I wanted...
-
Kane beats Shane next month, faces HHH at Survivor Series, jobs, then I don't know.
-
I only really stuck around hoping for maybe a Jericho upset, since I'll be seeing the replay tomorrow at the campus, but wanted to know how long to stick around. I personally prefer Seventh Son, but aside from it Scream for Me Brazil (which is mostly CW tracks anyway), CW is my favorite of the Maiden/B.D. albums. Saw Maiden live this summer, too. I guess this means Kane/Shane and HHH/Goldberg, with the winners to face each other at SurSer?
-
Love the Dickinson plug in the sig. *I* I fail to see why anyone is shocked HHH went over again. When I read he did, I didn't even blink. I've been conditioned to expect it.
-
You know HHH wouldn't have won if he was in no shape to compete, right?
-
Gooooldberg's not the chaaaaampion, my friiiiends...
