I agree, but only because the first time I saw Flair wrestling it was in WCW in 1997. At that time I thought it was laughable to have a guy who looked like such a geezer as one of your top stars. Ditto for Hogan, of course. I hadn't had a chance to appreciate Flair as a worker, though.

Lest we forget OUTBACK JACK, BABY! Whose worse off, Austrailia or New Zealand? I'm not from there, but since I doubt many on this board are... New Zealand: Pride ------ ???? Shame -------- Bushwhackers

I loved the Shiek entrance... "By the time he gets to the ring, it will be Wrestlemania XXXVII!" --well, probably not the exact number, but same joke. I need to re-watch X-7 now... And I can't blame him if he hates Tony--imagine hanging around him all the time? You would too, and most of us can't stand him even commentating. I think he hates Hogan, though, way more.

I heard Bret trained LT. However, Diesel was champ at the time and they wanted to give him as much credit for everything as possible, so they kayfabed that.

We've gone this far without no one mentioning Eddy vs. Benoit at Armageddon last year?! That's the first one that came to mind for me.

HHH and HBK yes, especially against each other. Goldberg needs things planned out for him. Nash, excellent match? Yeah, if some one is bumping for a freak for him and doing 90% of the work like vs. Jericho on Raw. I think the Chamber will be greater than the sum of its parts, but probably worse than last year's based on the quality of the workers in this one. At least this one is less predictable, though.

Your First Live Event
AndrewTS replied to A Guy Who Injects Heroin Into Kids' Eyes's topic in The WWE Folder
March 11th, 2003. Brock/Angle on SD was supposed to be the main event, but it ended up being the match where Angle pulled the Doink-like switch with his brother. It had a Team Angle vs. Rhyno/Benoit match too I believe. There was also Kanyon vs. Shark Boy and Nathan Jones in a crappy match vs. a jobber. Tajiri vs. Noble was a featured Velocity match. Post-show Brock F-5ed Heyman a few times after Heyman cried for his mommy. -
So you're still considered a bomb if you merely underperform in comparison to expected numbers? Or is it that they didn't make a substantial profit due to the huge cost of making them (special effects don't come cheap, especially CGI)?

Question--since when were the Hulk and Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle bombs? I thought the Hulk was #1 for a while and CA:FT was in the top 5 for a while?

They explained it on A.S. Gainex made the heavy, heavy, overly-pretentious and depressing Evangelion. They made the bizarre and humorous FLCL as a way to relieve the stress. However, don't try to overanalyze the plot, just take it as a goofy, pleasant distraction.

It doesn't matter so much if you make a movie that's stupid crap but people like it--Bad Boys II for instance. A tad harsh. Directed well, but the final product was damn cheesy. However, it was great to riff with a friend. ("Bruce Banner...noted scientist. Dedicated his life to the betterment of Mankind. Push a button, things happen. A scientist becomes a hulk brute...did I say flag on the moon?") Having seen it twice, I think critics overrated it because of the way it was directed, and ate up the way the film was set up slowly, relieved it wasn't all just wrecking stuff and explosions.

I saw it, mainly as a thing to do "with the family." I was pleasantly surprised, with it being a Costner flick and all. I liked it, then afterwards people in front of us were pissing and moaning that they didn't like it, and it was too long. Bratty kid suggested they see "Bad Boys II" next time. Too funny. It *was* long but I didn't really mind. It seemed to fly by.

Ooh, I can't wait for that. Edge was one of my favorite parts of Smackdown. I want my Rock/Edge match! If Rock returns before then, I figure that Raw will need him more, though.
-
I'm all for the fans speaking their minds even if they're wrong, but supporting Jeff while hating Matt for being a "faggot" is hilarious.

Orlando Jordan teamed with Taker? Oh crap, Jordan is now playing a somewhat-talented Nathan Jones.

Looks like a good show...but... "Bradshaw d. Shelton Benjamin. They seemed to be setting up some sort of feud between APA and WGTT, but nothing materialized on SD!. Actually seemed like a decent match live, Bradshaw won with the Clothesline from Hell." NOOOO! Not APA vs. TWGTT!!

I don't think Edge's opinion matters anyway. He's not been in the locker room much, and when he has it's likely mostly been to talk to his friends and hang out--I doubt he's privy to the gossip backstage or anything going on in booking meetings. His opinion is as good as any fan at this time. Still, WWE's "even steven" booking usually has the person who looks strong in the last show before the PPV losing in the PPV match. And Jericho won the Hair vs. Hair and came out on top at the end-of-Nitro WE'RE OUT OF TIME brawl. So unless they swerve us, I think HHH or Goldberg leaves as World Champ.

"I didn't break, I just entered." I think if they were going to cancel it they would have announced it on Raw already. Unless we see some something about it on SD--which is unlikely--then I'm assuming it's still on. Test vs. Steiner will likely be a TV feud only, or maybe Stacy does more lapdances at the PPV to forward the angle.

*Jeopardy theme plays* Why must they torture us so?

So Vince hears voices coming from his appliances?

I DID think that was Angle at first. Although looking at it his arms look bigger than I think Kurt's are.
-
Injured, so nope. They picked on Molly last week, Gail and Trish already appeared (with Molly) for the night. So probably was going to be Jackie, Ivory, or Coach trying to sneak in by dressing in drag.
-
The Test angle fooled me. The moment Conway was called into the ring and I really noticed his build I knew he'd have to be a wrestler, and I figured he'd be attacking the Dudz in short order. The Test angle heightened my suspicions for the rest of the night.
-
WWE would never plan that far in advance, let alone allow a spoiler like that happen.

Orton was somewhat over before the shoulder injury, and Batista may have been pushed harder on Raw but he may have gotten more heat on SD and certainly had better luck (he wasn't injured constantly on SD, even though he hardly wrestled). And Mack went from hanging with Cena to a heatless alleged-black-man having heatless matches with jobbers, and jobbing to Goldberg and Hurricane. I think he would have been better off left on SD simply for his association with Cena. And the following people moved to/returned to Raw only to have been horribly misused: Storm Jericho Hurricane Kane (Okay, in the last few months they've pushed him, but only after that horrible Katie Vick angle and killing off the IC title) Val Venis/Sean Morely However, I admit that at least they pushed Christian, so he's better off now than he was as just another Un-American.
