I went ahead and did that. It'll take a few days before I know, though.

My personal answer: no. Japan FF fans were extremely vocal about the change in FFXII's gameplay. Then they bought it anyway. Yes, but this console generation, I think it'll be much harder to make blanket statements that will apply to all the markets. Sony can easily make up lost ground in Japan. For most folks it's going to be Wii or PS3 (or both perhaps at some point). In the other markets--the much larger European and North American markets, competition is a bit stiffer because the 360 is actually a factor. Of course, this is ruling out Lost Odyssey being a runaway hit that sells millions of 360s in Japan.

FFXIII could be PS3's big holiday game. Unless MGS4 makes it out sooner than we think.

DC Comics announce three animated movies

If there's no cyborg Superman, then I assume Luthor will be filling the villain role. -
Some of those are, but are sometimes broken up into smaller vids and are of poorer quality.

Speaking of AVGN, he has a new video up on the Sega CD, which it up at gametrailers.com. Sega. An Attachment. FMV games. It writes itself. I'll have to finish The List sometime soon... Incidentally, AVGN and the like...I've pretty much seen them all, the best and worst. Check out a few of the better ones: http://www.goldenmediastudios.com/index.ph...tent&pid=28 (highly recommended: Superman 64) http://www.spoonyexperiment.com/games/ (highly recommended: The Thing) http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=UrinatingTree (highly recommended: Moonwalker, T2, Batman Forever)

dbb: that's the point where I'd say, "Sir, I assume you have a computer then. You do? Greeeeeeeeeat. I'd like to open up a browser window...type 'gamefaqs.com' into the address bar....now hit return. See where it says Search? Type Call of Duty 4 in, then click Search. When the results come up, click *right on* the name of the game to the right of where it says X360. NOW, WHAT DOES IT SAY UNDER RELEASE DATE?! REALLY?! *shocked gasp* Then we DON'T HAVE IT and NOBODY ELSE DOES!" *hang up*" If he doesn't have a computer/isn't next to to one, I'd navigate there myself, telling him what I saw. In general, people are morons. Do not try logic on morons, they have a built-in gene resistant to it. Just give them a website like that. If it's on the internet, it must be true. Anyway, if you manage to nab used games cheap and catch some of the better trade in values you can do quite well. I recently traded in Yoshi's Island DS (crap) and Halo 2, which I'd gotten for about 15 and 10 respectively at pawnshops, and got $17 and $12 in credit. Not bad at all. Oh, yesterday I got GTA The Trilogy for Xbox (which is...the 3rd, 4th,and 5th game...) for $17 + tax at Circuit City.
-
That's assuming you want the 3 games in question. Really bad. Enough to buy a PS3.
-
You people are fickle bastards.
-
Circuit City has a nasty habit of putting out juicy coupons for $x off of purchases over 100 bucks...then they specifically exclude game consoles like douches. Although their markdowns tend to be pretty awesome. I've often gotten tons of great deals on games there, especially portable titles.
-
I assume no one here has a solution for this? A friend obtained such a version of CS2...which he can't use because of the authorization thing. Anybody find a workaround?
-
I disagree on Game Informer. I think their reviews are utter trash, and the magazine's only worth are the coupons, and the fact that they get exclusive previews (which are usually because GI's incestual relationship with Gamestop makes them an indirect avenue for game publishers to hock their games well in advance). Game Informer often amuses me too because you never know what crap/questionable upcoming game will be picked as a golden child that you TOTALLY MUST RESERVE, D00D! You will get tons of bullshots and a lot of fluff on what the game will allegedly play like one day when they've finished building the engine for the game. See: Conan, Red Steel, Kane and Lynch. Kane and Lynch might actually be good, but it's apparently the next big thing that nobody knows about or cares about at this point. I think you play as a pair of cops, and you shoot people. The previews for Superman Returns The Game and Batman Begins are especially hilarious, compared to the final products. But they got massive cover features because EA probably ponied up some fat dough for the coverage. GI's exclusives are typically Ubisoft and EA, regardless of whether the game they are covering is worth a damn.
-
Go figure. The rule of thumb is to expect next to nothing and always check to see what the going secondary market price is for the games. However, for an offer like that, it's complete and utter bull to do that. They also put some of the better trade in values on their site, too.

There are a lot of folks in the TSM community who don't actually watch WWE (anymore). I gave up on it quite a while ago. Plus, this is a smark board anyway. I'm pissed that this is playing at my local theater--my local *A* theater FGS, but nowhere near me is playing Hot Fuzz.
-
LOL So what does the ad for the offer say?
-
Because all WWE has are writers who got rejected/fired/whathaveyou from stations like The WB and UPN, ass-kissing yes-men, and the boss' daughter? Because Vince's drinking water is laced with many, many things, among them pure Stallonium? Because most of the people who watch WWE week-in, week-out are probably dumb louts whose minds couldn't really comprehend much more than boom-boom action flicks and crap slasher junk? Because these movies are done on shoe-string budgets and most of the "stars" can't act beyond standing in a ring, yelling about how they will to beat somebody up and spouting gay jokes? I'll take all of the above, Alex. Yeah, but man, Pulp Fiction was good. Man, Pulp Fiction kicked ass. Man, Pulp Fiction was so long ago. ....and I liked Jackie Brown....

That's mentioned in the link I posted. Acclaim always strived to suck in new and innovative ways. Not content to just pay for licenses to make crap games off of, they actually bought a 4th rate comic publishing company so they could make crappy games off of them.
-
That's doable under 40. I was thinking more along the lines of Panzer Dragoon Saga, Suikoden 2, and PSX Valkyrie Profile.
-
It doesn't really matter if it's fake or not, this will come back to bite Sony in the BUTT big time. Like, PETA burns down their headquarters big time. Also, it's just plain wrong and sick, even to just joke about. It's like something Acclaim would do in their dying days. Ah, yes.

http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/28/uk-paper...-god-of-war-ii/ Elaborate farce? Brilliant marketing?
-
Well, since 20 GB is dead that's gotta be equivalent to 200 bucks trade in for 10 games. I'm assuming that's current-gen non-sports titles, but even so that's not too bad. On the typical PS2 game trade in EB/GS usually give you a dollar and a wad of belly button lint.

Unless it's out of print and difficult / not currently possible to emulate...

I'm not really committed to defending or praising Battle Royale, but... Incidentally, what is the prevailing opinion about Fight Club? QT's body of work? Etc.? As much as I respected Trish as a performer when I watched WWE, there would be only two reasons I'd watch a movie with her in it, and they would best be displayed prominently, often, and doused in water and/or oil. I wouldn't put it past WWE to experience with a Diva in a romantic comedy. But their version of a romantic comedy will have no fewer than 3 big explosions in it.
