Stephen conceeding Democrats taking the house was hilarious. Loved the "Congratulations, Terrorists!" cake. -

http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3154959 How shocking. However, at least it wasn't another incident of that time-honored Japanese tradition of groping women on a subway.

So it has been written. So has it come to pass. I never played Ouendan, but I picked up EBA today and it's so ridiculous it's terrific. I'm even having fun with the levels with songs I hate.

Yes. An ART BOOK. Just what this game was screaming for as a bonus.

THE POWER OF XBOX 360!!! Bringing horrifically awful Rob Liefeld-ish character designs to digital life. I like the bright blue glowing part of the armor. It seems perfect to let enemies get a bead in the main character's big fat head.

Yeah--why *not* add 10 dollars to the purchase of your game?! Useless DVD! And the shiny!

The OAO Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess Thread

OBJECTION! It's Gamepro. Consider the source, here. Let's go to the horse's mouth. There's nothing definitive or concrete there. Sounds more like "definite maybe." I honestly don't understand how that would even work. There's no Wii HD. Full blown "levels" (dungeons?) would be done in exactly what way? Harrison seems to be expressing an opinion, not offering statements of fact. Also, after Kaplan screwed up on many statements, I honestly don't buy much into what a Nintendo rep outside of Japan says. Even Reggie's statements must be taken with a grain of salt. -
It has a shiny metal box!

...if you take away the popularity, critical acclaim, and production value advantage.... Naw, you're still on crack. If you know what you're getting and are ok with it, I'd say get FFXII. I honestly wouldn't expect anyone to pay full retail price for KH2 at this point when it's going to go GH in about a month and a half....and with Final Mix + not having an announcement one way or the other for the US. Midway has humongous balls to expect anyone to pay full retail price ever for MKA.

Why do you say that? Mediocre compared to the extremely bland Sonic 1? And vs. Sonic 3, Sonic and Knuckles? Both compared--yeah, that's a huge game, but separately.... And most of the games besides the initial 3+ are kind of crappy.

Wow, that's some vague, head-scratching stuff. If the Wii supports Gamecube controllers for games with a "traditional" layout, Gamecube VC games are *only* playable with the GC controller, then isn't a GC controller better to get than the Classic? The Classic controller isn't wireless--although it connects up to the Wiimote, but despite the button layout being plenty sufficient, it isn't supported for Gamecube games?! Why?! The Classic controller has every single button the GC controller has, although a more traditional 2nd stick seems to be replacing the C-stick. It seems like Nintendo wants to keep selling Gamecube controllers over the new Classic controller, which makes no sense. The Classic controller should play everyfreakin'thing. Then again: hello contradiction: "GameCube games are part of the Virtual Console, GameCube games can only be played with a GameCube controller, not the classic controller." All Virtual Console games can be played with classic controller, GameCube controller or Wii remote" What?! Contradictory, plus--why the hell would I be unable to play a GC game with the classic controller, but I *could* play an N64 VC game with just the wiimote, which lacks the necessary buttons?

There's going to be a wireless guitar for the PS2 version, so I guess that means it'll work on PS3. Street date may be 11/7, but I was at a Gamestop that had a huge rack of them (about a dozen or so easy) in the back. Natch they can't sell them yet, tho.

The two weeks I played it was nothing but walking and tedious fights with crabs. Nuh uh. You forgot the giant bunnies.

The Battlefield Earth guns were a nice touch. United Atheist League, the United Atheist Alliance, and the United Atheist Allegiance...seems to be referencing Life of Brain.

The OAO Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess Thread

Nintendo promised GC TP, so yes, they owed it to their fans. As it is, I'm annoyed that they delayed the GC one, when they said both would be available same day. 70 hours I truly doubt, but Jeremy Parish said they'd only really completed the first dungeon. However, as long as the hours are filled with awesome and not tedium (see: empty leveling up RPG hours), I'm cool with it. -
FFXI doesn't really count. Nobody likes that game. Even Anya is at a loss for good things to say about it, for crying out loud.

Licensed games tend to run usually between "meh" and "ech," with the best of them usually getting credited as "good, for a license." I mean, you have publications out there actually giving Godfather, Scarface, and Spiderman 2 great scores! Anime/mangas really fare no better--Dragon Ball games' reps are somewhere between Superman and the Matrix games, for instance. Despite the vast numbers of Narutards out there ready to buy up anything with the license attached, games featuring the manga/show's characters have been surprisingly good. The Gamecube games are extremely playable and competent, even though the publishers wish to milk the crappier earlier games first. There's also the infamous DS import Jump Superstars. Well, the Xbox 360 title is actually going to be developed by Ubisoft Montreal. Rather strange, but then again the whole project seems strange: 360 owners don't seem like Naruto demo to me. This is Ubi "concept art" for the game: http://www.txmafia.com/bbs/3810/naruto-360-concept-art

"They?" - Gabe - Wed, November 01 2006 - 10:11 AM So I guess it hasn't really changed.

What a well-thought out reply. Or Hulk, Elektra, Superman III & IV, all of the Captain America films, both Fantastic Four movies, Ultraviolet, AVP, Batman Forever/&Robin, Aeon Flux, etc, etc.

The beep sequence doesn't tell me any more than processor or memory. I scoured the HP/Compaq site as well as did a chat with a tech rep. Same dealy. I already removed the ethernet card (there was no wireless card) and tested without it. Same deal.
-
A friend has a Compaq Presario S4010CL, and his brother was fucking around with it using a thumb drive, and the gist of it is now it won't properly boot up. It'll turn on, but then gives a single beep followed by a prolonged beep, and it's stuck at the Compaq logo. He got a replacement that his brother paid for, but essentially handed it over to me. Well, no changes even after trying different cords/cables/monitor, and even removing/trying different keyboard and mouse. Checking out compaq's site, it's either memory or the processor, which is a pretty big "either/or." I don't have a replacement stick of the same type, but I pulled out memory and tested it. No video comes up, and the computer beeps in a regular pattern, pretty much just telling me--"put in new RAM." The only thing I'm worried about, is that if it is only testing memory first, and hasn't got around to testing the processor during the POST, I'd be blowing money on the memory for nothing. Anyone have the same situation happen, or can reassure me it's just the memory?

I'm hitting the Wal-Mart I got Scurge from. It's on top of a hill in the relative middle of nowhere.
