According to my research, it appears Eddie Fryers is a former CIA operative who is linked as an ally to Oliver Queen and some others.

isn't this how pretty much all high school fights go? Yeah, I used to bust out the Korean slang all the time before throwing down.

Glass Ceiling!! -
Thankfully, outside of my viewership, I don't think I've spent more than 300 bucks on the WWF/E since I started watching in 1993 or so. And of that, a good 60 of it is gas money to go to two shows, probably 30 for merch, probably around 100 for my one SSlam ticket last year and a webcast I got. The rest goes to various DVDs and old VHS rentals (if they even count). Eh, scratch that, I have a decent chunk of DVDs, lets call it 400 bucks even.

Man, I wish I had 100 bucks to just throw down like that. Sadly I don't.

That's just the Junior Division.

My parents don't have any sort of HD signal running into the house, yet think the "53 TV they have has such an awesome picture. I mean, it does have an awesome picture, but it doesn't take a genius to look at ANYTHING on it and realize it isn't HD. Honestly, I'm not even sure my area offers HD, or if does it's crazy expensive.

Wizard spill the beans on DC One Year Later

Many comic book covers rock the house anymore. I have Universe #1 and Marvel Knights: Wolverine/Hulk #1 framed. (mainly because I had two extra frames around, but i'm thinking about framing 52 #1 after it comes out and I read through it). -

Chrono Cross was a pale imitation of what Chrono Trigger was. Instead of designing a great game based on their own knowledge and experience, they let customer opinion affect it too much. That was probably the greatest decision that Hiroshi Yamauchi ever made; he decided that Marketing and PR would only see games after they were finished, and didn't let consumer info decide how to make his company's games. I share my birthday with that guy.

Traffic. Oh whatever, they had nothing to do with that movie.

I like the fact that an MD2 off the set only gained a 2 count.

Johnny: Hey, Kid! Who let you back here? This is wrestler's only. Are you another one of Flair's Illegitmate kids? London: No, I work for you guys. Johnny: Oh! Are you one of the new junior wrestlers? I heard alot about you, great stuff. London: Actually, I've been here for 3 years. I was your Cruiserweight champion, tag team champion... Johnny: Cruiserweight championship? Tag team championships? What? Look, do you want to see Torrie's boobs? Gimmie $10 and I'll arrange it for you, but stop making stories up. I barely noticed any non-selling of Angle and his arm. Since it was his left arm and most of his punches and other things were down with his right... Usually if he did something that used his left arm (the irish whip on the outside) it got reversed or in the case of the superB2Bplex left both men down for a considerable time that noticable selling wasn't possible. Any other time it came into play was him hooking in the Anklelock or being himself put into the Choke.

When's the last time we had a thread about cover songs?
The Amazing Rando replied to Giuseppe Zangara's topic in Music
Okay, that album came out in 1970, while the first Stones version came out in 71 (i think), but still... Jagger and Richards composed the song, so would their version really count as a cover since they wrote it? -
Well, I just watched Angle/UT for the first time and dug it immensely. UT bringing out the speed and psychology early on was a breathe of fresh air, really, as they took the first half of the match to show that both men could play mat games and brawling. I think this match went a long way in showing that Angle owns the mat and Taker owns the fisticuffs, but that when push comes to shove, Angle is as good a brawler as UT is a technician. I didn't mind the multiple count breaks late in the match, especially when Taker used Kurt's downed body for the first one leading into the first anklelock spot (it doesn't matter that Kurt grabbed the good leg the first time, as it was totally a desperation thing on his part) and the later break that saw Kurt about to win the match, only to want it in the ring. That little move almost proved costly though, which played into both Angle's competitive spirit and Taker's ability to come back at damn near any amount. Even his situp wasn't so much a no-sell in this instance as it played out more like adrenaline, as he didn't continue no-selling after the sit (and it helped that Angle went crazy seconds before to really show how pumped up both men were). I didn't think Taker should have gone to the top rope toward the end, especially with a bad wheel. He's no RVD, ya know. A veteran like Taker would have kept it standing, regardless of the situation. I also hated Cole bringing up Angle's neck every ten seconds during the early stages on the match. That drove me insane. I did, however, like Tazz trying to put over the Triangle Choke as deadly. Both men sold the beatings extremely well, especially toward the end. I saw no problem with them trading holds, signature moves, and finishers late, as it really became acts of desperation and opportunity. Angle kicks out chokeslam, Taker goes for Tombstone. That gets reversed, he goes back to the choke which worked earlier on in the match (Kurt only barely made the ropes with his foot). Angle's Slam attempts were simply opportunity knocking even when it was clear he was setting his sights on the Lock any chance he could get it. The ending was beautiful, as I could see there is a definite possibility Taker thought that Angle's shoulders were down in the bridge and was too concentrated on the hold to realize at that very moment that his shoulders had been pinned as well. I have absolutely no problem with a rematch between the two, as this was fantastic with very few flaws. Even some of the botches or little mishaps played well into the story of them both just being tired and hurt and doing whatever it would take to win the title. I don't even think they would have to make the next match No-DQ...but a No Countout stip would be fine, as I don't think they would abuse it because it really wasn't abused here. They told a great story and it really could set up a longer feud and really makes me believe that if Orton wins the belt at Mania that it will become Angle/UT for a number one contenders spot and Rey/Orton to fill some time and maybe even give Rey the belt. I wouldn't mind seeing Rey get the belt if it led to Rey vs. Angle and then a part three of a 2006 Angle/UT feud into SurSer. ****. Definitely.

THE OAO Raw thread for 2/20/06
The Amazing Rando replied to Open the Muggy Gate's topic in The WWE Folder
Wouldn't Angle vs. Orton technically go last since the Rumble winner is always in the final match, and Orton won that stipulation last night? I would rather have Angle vs. Orton go last and have Angle win to "send the fans home happy" or whatever. -
THE OAO Raw thread for 2/20/06

Actually, he should do one in the vein of "Parker Lewis Can't Lose" just so HHH can prove that yes, Parker Lewis can lose, and will lose, at Wrestlemania 22 in Chicago. -
According to DC Online they will be selling at 2.50 a piece... that means the entire collection would run at about 130 bucks or so..... if the monthly's ran at 9.99 a piece you'd only save money on the 5 week months, and if they ran for anything more you'd lose money.
