Family Guy and Norm MacDonald. Bob Barron now wishes me dead.

Neither Nik or Loss was on and I thought that zapjaste was being a moron in that Sable thread, so I suspended him for the night and went to bed. There, mystery solved. We can all go on with our lives now.

^Ditto here. It might be the best Christmas episode because of how severely fucked up it was.

Welcome to the board. Here's the way out of the WWE folder for a while. WWE has enough useless pairs of tits on the roster, thank you.

That, and I think the fans aren't buying Orton's Rock-Lite face persona. And they probably did turn him face a bit too quickly, unlike the slow burn with Batista. Besides, Big Dave is just cooler than the other side of the pillow.

I liked how Carey was used. He stayed out of the way, provided a little comedy relief (trying to bribe Kane), and got the hell out when he should have.
-
Hayden almost spilling out of her top at the soap box run was even better. Geez Victoria, coming in second isn't THAT bad. Jonathan the Douche!!!
-
Congratulations to the big guy, as he's been pining for a head coaching job for a few years now (it's one of the reasons he went for the stomach stapling surgery that almost killed him a few years ago).

Eh, I guess if it will further discussion, and since Mr. Cheap Plug was on, I'll link to the ol' recap in this thread.

So now Pedro doesn't want to get an MRI on his shoulder as part of his physical, instead wanting a stress test on it. If the Mets agree to that, then they deserve each other.

We could go back to stonings and crucifiction. Rocks and the crosses are reusable and cheap. On a semi-related note, I'm all in favor of public executions. The halftime show at the Super Bowl should feature at least three sociopaths getting hanged, fried, or shot. Lethal injection just doesn't make for good TV, though the gas chamber might be OK if the chap inside it twitches and convulses a lot. I'd rather them be beheaded, and have the heads roll into one of 5 numbered holes so that the people can gamble on which hole the head will roll into. Either that, or have them shot out of a high-speed catapult....right into a brick wall!! It doesn't matter, as long as we balance the stupid fucking budget.

Bah, I highly enjoyed the change of pace that 2K5 gave me, so it powerful sucks that ESPN Videogames is essentially cut off at the knees with this.

Apparently Pedro was sick of Boston's brass harping on his sub-par '04 season. What exactly were they SUPPOSED to focus on? And he wanted Schilling money, which just wasn't going to happen. Looks like the Sox are focusing on A.J. Burnett now.
-
He may win 20 next year since it's the NL, but that is just too much money for a starter that is going to get worse before he gets better. And I don't know if you can call him an "Ace" anymore, and the Mets don't have much behind him (Leiter, Benson, and who else?) Maybe Pedro is banking on Kris cheating on Anna?

Can we stick to the subject of the thread, please?

I'M GOING TO MODERATE THE HELL OUT OF THIS THREAD!!! http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?showtopic=64674 Thread closed.

Enjoy being second fiddle to the Yankees again, Petey. More money to keep Varitek and grab Clement to get younger I say. This isn't like Clemens leaving, since management actually did all they wanted to to keep the guy around.

Game of the week is, I guess, Jets-Steelers or Bucs-Chargers since there really isn't any other real good game on the schedule that I can see. I weep for those who receive 49ers-Cardinals as their 4PM game. I peg Peyton at 3 TDs today.

Goddamn that Redskins offense blows. No clock management, they don't even use the friggin' shotgun, so Ramsey has almost no time to wait for his receivers to go downfield, and they go for it all on first down with all the time they need, but Ramsey throws a HORRID pass into double coverage. If they actually could score, they'd probably be a cinch for the Wild Card right now.
-
So right now both the Pats and Steelers have really only one "tough" game on their schedules: Pats at Jets, since the Pats will be coming off a MNF game in Miami, and the Jets played them tough in their first meeting, and Ravens at Steelers, which I see being a game much like Steelers/Jags: hard hitting and low scoring. Buffalo might give the Steelers a run for their money if they are still in the WC hunt, but those are the two games I see possibly being a loss. Wow, great catch by Michael Clayton to tie the Bucs/Chargers game.
-
The hell...? That's what Siragusa said after Favre threw a TD pass to Driver. He might be the most useless fat guy broadcaster I've ever seen. Looks like the Jets have pissed the game away giving 14 4th quarter points.

"The smile's back guys! The smile's back!" Thank you Tony, now go bother the vendors some more.
-
Goddamnit, Bettis throws a TD, 10-3 Steelers. That might be enough to win.
-
It is a 6 year deal though, so though he might miss out on this year, but if they actually honor this entire contract (unlike Willingham), he'll have a good chance to prove if he can be a head coach. This is probably a steppingstone to an NFL job later on.

I would have preferred Pavano (now I hope he's Vasquez 2K5), but having a good veteran lefty in the 3 or 4 spot is a fine replacement for Lowe. I liked Orlando's attitude and glove, but Renteria brings better offense with a slightly weaker glove, so it isn't a bad tradeoff. Any word of one of the clauses in Wells' contract being 24/7 access to the Cask N' Flagon?
