Looks like the rain has reached Fenway. Ah well, game's official now, so let it pour.

Manny clears the bases with a double. Joe Kerrigan is really doing his job, huh?

Tony K. called Ken Jennings a dickweed.
KingPK replied to The Czech Republic's topic in Television & Film
That was probably tongue-in-cheek, as Kornhieser fancies himself as a know-it-all. I've been watching Ken for the last few weeks. Part of me wants him to just throw a Final Jeopardy and get the hell out, but the guy actually has a good sense of humor, and has fun with Alex. -
Domo origato, Mr. Roberto. Man, Philly's bullpen is imploding now.

Paging kkk Michael Moore fat joke involving waffles needed.

Well, if it was Gore, all the kids would have been asleep by the third page, so he probably could have snuck quietly out of there after stealing some milk for the road.

Orlando gets Nelson for a future 1st? That's IT?

Think Vitale is angry? I agree with him that HS kids should stay the hell away from the NBA, but we've gone through that debate a few times already. I just thought of something: if he does one this year, Bill Simmons' draft diary is going to be pretty neutered this year because ESPN is covering it, so he can't rip on guys like Stephen A. Smith and Vitale.

Geez, thanks for reminding me what happened the LAST time Boston had 3 1sts, ESPN. It's Al Jefferson. Ainge is safe, I guess.

I agree with Tom here. I'd much rather go to the Fleet than the old Garden (of course, I've only been to each place twice in my life), and I'd choose Gillette Stadium over Foxboro Stadium any time. There just comes a point where the building outlives its usefulness and an upgrade is needed. The trick is to make the new place offer as much uniqueness as the old one. The problem with the Fleetcenter is that it is pretty damn bland, and the teams that play in it aren't nearly as successful than the Celtics and Bruins were in the Garden, so I can't blame people who slag it.

"I don't know if he'll help Golden State right away." Yeah, THAT'S what you want to hear about the #11 draft pick. It's always funny to hear these Europeans give interviews.

Someone must be injecting Stephen A. Smith with morphine every 10 minutes. Guy has been pretty mellow tonight.

Ok, so jets are scrambled to major landmarks. Does the pilots' orders state that they can shoot down any plane they see? And if one or two were just normal flights that got lost in the confusion and got destroyed, how does that help things? And what if they protect the Golden Gate Bridge and the Space Needle, but instead planes hit an unprotected Hoover Dam and some nuclear plant in Nevada? I don't think there are enough planes, and in 11 minutes, not enough time to think of and protect EVERY SINGLE possible target out there. Really, can't we just say "ok, they caught us with our pants down, so let's make sure the belt is extra tight next time" instead of STILL playing the blame game almost three years later?

That reminds me, Hamas really has been slacking on the whole suicide bomber thing lately, haven't they? What, have the youth of Palestine declared "strapping bombs on yourself and walking onto a bus is SOOOOO 2002"?

I'd just like to remind everyone that there is a pinned thread for the NBA draft, so discussion of the events of tomorrow night should go there.

How about actually reading what Loss wrote? You can get a pretty good idea wether or not he liked the match or not. Really great job here, Loss. I believe that the formation of the Two Man Power Trip the night after Mania was, in hindsight, one of the worst things that has happened in Stone Cold's career. I didn't get why HHH joined him then, and I still don't now. I distinctly remember the fans going bonkers when HHH came out, thinking he was coming to save Rock, but they had to do the "OMG SWERVE~!" and put them together. It never worked because the fans were asking themselves "Weren't these guys at each other's throats no more than two months ago?" Of course, then HHH got injured, and everything just went to hell, and the character just wasn't the same. Looking forward to part two.

I totally wrote off Heff for the showdown, partly because he seemed like he REALLY didn't want to do it, and partly because I would have loved to see Bonnie and Tammy bitch at each other some more. But like CM said, these people better not fall back on the same routine every time they perform. I think that's the third time in three performances Bonnie used the anorexia and breast implant jokes. Heff brought some new stuff to the table, so he deserved to win. And if Todd Glass doesn't wind up with a broken jaw by the time this is over, I'll be very surprised.

I love that they are going after EVERYTHING that makes up a cheesy reality show. When they got to Piper's last choice, the camera quickly cut to a close-up of every single person in the room (and the bird) and just kept doing it faster and faster for a good 30 seconds. And I loved how they had to wait forever for Derek to show up for the eviction ceremony (with the music repeating itself about three times). It would have been glorious for Piper to give the guy she's eliminating a pair of blue billiard balls, but that might have been too much. "Dip your wick into her flame of love." (or something like that) was the line of the night though. I wouldn't at all be surprised if they eventually give up and dumped Ingrid, but it would be more interesting how they try to keep one step ahead of her. I thought Ambrosia's talk would have diffused the bomb, but I guess it didn't.

I've never even heard of that site until 15 seconds ago. Who wrote that entry, anyway?

Damn, slipped my mind to pin this thing.

Interleague continues, as the AL teams head to the NL parks. It'll be interesting to see how guys like Ortiz and Manny will use the thin Colorado air to their advantage. But the game to watch today (Monday) is most definitely Cubs-'Stros with Mark Prior facing Roger Clemens. I'm assuming ESPN has it as their Monday afternoon game? I didn't hear what game they were airing when I was watching the Sox game.

I really don't think we're going to hear from Michaels himself for a while. This "update" will probably be just a replay of the attack followed by JR saying something like "Michaels suffered a crushed larynx and other internal injuries. We have no idea when he will return."

DJ Jeff used to post there, and he was the one that ratted you guys out, right? I swear, I don't think ANYONE liked that guy.

The plate looks pretty straight to me. What picture are YOU looking at?
