So when does Peter King set up shop at Jets training camp?
-
So Favre goes from being protected by one of the best o-lines in the league last year to being protected by a reconsituted line that was among the worst. Good luck with that.

Cloverfield: The Wrigley Field Tornado: Seriously, all we needed was the cameraman making dumb jokes the whole time. That looked pretty scary, though.

Criterion finally released the free "Cagney" update for Burnout Paradise today and it is pretty fucking awesome. Online Marked Man (where one player is designated the Marked Man and must avoid the other players without the aid of boost or radar) is just too much fun. You should be able to find the game cheaper now (I got it for $40) and next month there will be another update that adds day/night cycles, weather effects and motorcycles.

Sent back Robot Chicken: Season 1. Season 2 is already at the top of my queue and I can't wait for it.

[email protected]. I have a few of you guys, but I welcome more.

Part of it may be the fact that you are playing a very tough defense in basically a two-minute drill (minute and a half drill, really) so all you really can do is chuck the ball downfield to a (usually covered) receiver. It wasn't the best idea for a demo; they should have just let you play a 3-5 minute quarter or something. EDIT: I haven't played a Madden on the new gen of consoles, so I'm curious: do they offer "official" roster updates that you can download either through the game or through the Marketplace? If so, how often?

They aren't the same company. GameFly operates out of only 4 distribution centers, so that may be part of the reason (Netflix is rumored to have about 20) and not every game is available in every center.

The Best of Edge, Christian and Commissioner Foley. "Sodas rule!" *high five*
-
No, I don't grasp it. Great teams with great managers are supposed to be able to overcome this bullshit. They did to the tune of two world championships. It's just that this year Manny made it quite clear that he was not going to be satisfied with two more option years and wanted one more long-term deal. The FO wasn't going to give him that.
-
Plus, with not having to worry about the options and with guys like Schilling and Timlin coming off the books, they have quite a bit of cash to throw around in the offseason, correct?
-
Rest of this year and next year at $7.5 million.
-
I agree. It doesn't show off features like Backtrack or Rewind (no commentary either), but I liked what I played. I just wish we were able to choose the Patriots to play defense because I don't want to relive that freakin' drive again. I was just throwing into triple coverage every down.

Does this trade put the Dodgers in the driver's seat in the West? The division is so close that any big addition should help.
-
You mean that injury-prone Hall of Fame talent that's batting .245 this year? He'll help the White Sox, but having him play OF over DH is a mistake. EDIT: Brendan Moss and Craig Hansen are the Sox prospects heading out. I'm getting more satisfied.
-
I just liked that it took all of two minutes for someone to post about a trade. Quit trying to make everything about you, Czech.
-
D'OH! Could be a three-teamer here with Jason Bay and prospects. I am satisfied. EDIT: It is Jason Bay to Boston per WEEI.
-
FWIW, I don't think they trade him tonight/tomorrow. They'll pick up one of his options and go full bore during the winter meetings to trade him. No Manny won't sink this team; a bad bullpen, shaky starting pitching from everyone not named Lester and a black hole in the bottom of the lineup will.
-
Not this year, but like Cheech said, they've won two out of four so I don't really care if they don't this year. Manny doesn't produce well enough anymore to look past his childishness and, like I said before, this ownership has been looking for ways to dump his attitude and salary ever since they bought the club, so this isn't anything new. This is the best time to do it because the fanbase isn't agonizing for a title and, though there will be an uproar from some people, everyone will end up happy in the end. Great, now we'll see a Dan Shaughnessy book titled "Manny Being Curse-y" in a few years.
-
I got the Pats.
-
Please. This ownership group would ship this guy anywhere if they could get anything close to market value to get that albatross of a contract off their backs. They are as sick of "Manny Being Manny" as I have become. Plus, he's on the decline, so he's nowhere near $20 million. They'll pick up his '09 option and ship him out at the trading deadline (in '09).

I just sent back 21, Iron Monkey and the second disc of the fourth season of Newsradio. I have Crime Story, the third disc of Newsradio and Casino coming next. After that, it's mostly TV shows; I have the first three seasons of House since everyone's always raving about that show and I want to get into it from the beginning. There's 116 items total, so there's a bunch of crap there.

Red Sox (link): C - Kelly Shoppach (The best of a putrid bunch) 1B - Kevin Youkilis 2B - Dustin Pedroia SS - Freddy Sanchez 3B - Mark Texiera LF - Jacoby Ellisbury CF - David Murphy RF - Matt Murton SP - Curt Schilling SP - Justin Duchscherer SP - Jon Lester SP - Clay Buccholz SP - Kason Gabbard RP - Jonathan Papelbon Wow, a LOT of those guys really didn't end up doing much; I was scraping the bottom of the barrel in the OF and SP positions.

For some reason that part in GG&HT is actually easier on Hard than it is on Medium for me. Probably because on Medium the yellow notes are so close together you tend to speed up the beat and once you screw up the rhythm, it's very hard to get the beat back. On hard they are at least spaced out so it's easier to keep the beat.

I'm watching clips from the Packers shareholders meeting right now. There isn't a facepalm picture big enough to convey my feelings for some of these people.
