Metal Gear Solid 4 I wonder if he's going to get as much shit for this one that he did for SSBB?
-
Holy shit, Jerry Remy's daughter is fucking HOT!
-
For those with HBO, they are going to air 11 of his specials in order on HBO2 Wednesday and Thursday night.

I really, really don't get the announcer switch. Smackdown should see good things with JR and Foley (though Foley is still honing his style), but Raw is going to take a MASSIVE hit in quality with Cole and Lawler. They sucked as a team in '99 and they'll still suck now.

He's just been one of those "outspoken" kinds of guys that'll give you his opinion on things even when you don't ask for it. But when has that really mattered in HOF discussions? Ted Williams was a prick to the fans and media and that didn't matter (of course, he was the greatest hitter to ever walk the Earth, so maybe he's not the best example here).

It's a minor step above Rocks The 80s, but a very minor one. Anyone pick up On Tour for the DS? I keep floating over to our demo kiosk of it at work and am considering picking it up.

RIP I liked his earlier stuff (60s, 70s and 80s) more than his recent fare, but it all was good stuff. "I can prove to you that rape is funny. Imagine Porky Pig raping Elmer Fudd. See? Why do you think they call him 'Porky'?"

A lot of movies are too long these days and it's just not comedies. National Treasure: Book of Secrets is two hours long; granted it's a pretty fast-moving two hours but it's still too long.

Curt Schilling is not going to pitch this year, so this may be it for his career. Is he a Hall of Famer? Baseballreference.com has him right at the standard for getting in, so I think he'll get in. Maybe not as a first-ballot choice, but he'll get in.

All I can say is that the Lakers scare me to death.

You can't take the third of a second to scroll past it?

I actually got the "Let Sleeping Rockstars Lie" achievement last night. It was in a game with just three other people, too.

Metal Gear Solid 4 to feature much older Snake...

That poor flower pot. That's about the extent of the "rioting" last night (along with some storefront windows). Fortunately, the Deadspin post I got that picture from has a link to some real "celebrations".

I'm just tuning out Czech's schtick at this point.
-
Nope, he was on the ABC team.

I think they were both in (or very close) before this. Now they are definitely in and #34 is going to the rafters in a few years.

I watched the cutscenes on YouTube (I won't get a PS3 and thus won't play this for years) and, not to spoil anything (I won't even use spoiler tags), the story takes a major nosedive towards the end, with some twists and developments that absolutely come out of nowhere. And I hated the ending. Hated it with a passion. Once people finish the game I'll discuss it. -
I know everyone's saying that the Lakers will be all right next year, but they showed absolutely NO physical presence in this series save for stretches in games 3 and 5. That doesn't bode well for them since what should be the top teams in the East in '09 (Boston, Detroit, Cleveland, etc.) are physical teams. Bynum should help, but Pau Gasol absolutely wilted like a flower in this series and they really, really need to move Odom somewhere else.

The "Where is Kobe?" chant = awesome "Se-ven-teen!"= awesome Na na na na.... = overused and cliche. A "run it up!" chant with Belichick on the tron would have made my night. EDIT: That's Cedric Maxwell ('81 Finals MVP) that does the radio calls. He's absolutely insane and I love listening to him call games.

Man, that KG interview and the hug with Russell while he says "I got mine!" made things real dusty in here.

Boston got in a few hours ago, I believe (there were storms in the area, so I don't know if that further delayed things). Gee, you'd think that a two-day break here would help mitigate any travel difficulties instead of putting one between two games in LA so that....they could have an extra night partying at the Playboy Mansion, maybe? And yes, I will never get over how mind-boggingly STUPID the scheduling for this series was.

So Javon Walker got the shit beat out of him and robbed in Vegas after going to a club and buying 15 bottles of Dom Perignon (cost: $15,000) and spraying them on everybody. He's fitting right in with the Raiders, isn't he?
-
People want him to be this Shaq-like guy that bangs bodies underneath the hoop and takes it in every time, but he's just not that player. He's had a good series, not great (averaging a double-double I believe), but of all the guys on the court tomorrow, he's the one that'll feed off the home crowd and bring it. Listening to WEEI today was migrane-inducing at some points. I thought we shed that "I'm just waiting for them to blow this" schtick?

I picked up Stranglehold (the John Woo game) last week. I definitely recommend it since you can find it pretty cheap now ($20 or so) and it is fun to leap around in BulletTequila Time and rack up the kills. The final level is a fucking bitch though since guys quite literally run right at you firing twin Uzis at full blast.
