So now both teams travel cross-country overnight and have one day of rest after having two days off between two games in the same city. *Throws up hands*
-
I know this is supposed to be an '04 rematch, but how many of those guys are still on the team AND not injured (unlike Schilling, Pujols and Ortiz)?
-
I will say that Garnett got fucking abused by Gasol, who apparently realized that it's smart to be phyiscal against a smaller guy. Clanking those two FTs certainly doesn't help his "Shrinkage" rep, which is a shame because they were probably starting to engrave Pierce's name on the MVP trophy before that.
-
So was the beginning with that absolutely TURRIBLE phantom call on Garnett's first foul that set the tone. Not to mention the non-reach in call on the Kobe steal. The Lakers still can't play D for a full 4 quarters and their bench guys are dreadful (CHRIS MIHM in an ELIMINATION GAME, Phil!?), so unless Don Stern has second thoughts, this ends Tuesday.

BOW TO SHUTTLESWORTH FOR HE IS YOUR SAVIOR! Here's how stupid I am: I did the whole "Turn the TV down and listen to the radio call" thing in the first half, but that half just turned my gut and I turned the radio off at halftime. I decided to watch the second half to see if they could at least make it a game and when it got to single digits I rose to turn the radio back on but I actually said to myself "No, I don't want to jinx this." Yeah, I'm an idiot. Of course, the radio call is like 5 seconds ahead of the TV feed so it's really weird.

Reading the piece, I think he was saying that BOTH teams were affected and I kind of agree. Game 3 was fucking ugly. Game 4 should be the best game of the series.

June 22nd. It doesn't seem like the discounts are that deep on this site anymore. Plus, the free shipping means it takes forever to show up. EDIT: I ordered the Naked Gun Collection, NewsRadio Seasons 1&2 and Season 3 (since I've been watching it on Netflix and I was reminded how fucking great it was) and Undeclared: The Complete Series (ditto). Total cost with 3 day shipping: $93.93 (a savings of $65). Might as well put that stimulus check to SOME use.

Even though they shot 35% from the floor, even though they played with a ref crew so bad you couldn't even top it if you tried (seriously, was Violet Palmer busy washing her hair or something?), and even though Paul Pierce pulled down his shorts and took a giant dump on the trophy painted at center court, the Celtics lead in the fourth quarter instead of being down by 20 and I have more confidence in them bouncing back than anyone on the Lakers not named after a Japanese beef or a figure skater. Speaking of, how fast will the Lakers try to unload Lamar Odom in the offseason? I mean....yikes.
-
Exactly. This is the same thing when people were bitching about the Celtics not getting calls against Atlanta; if the Lajkers are going to settle for jumpers, they aren't going to get the contact inside and get to the line. Powe was a one-man FT machine in the first half. Gasol got away with some over the back calls in the 4th, so it's all square in my book. LA's gotta win all three at home for the series to come back to Boston. They could do it, but someone other than Kobe is going to have to take over and they need to drastically improve their defense on the perimeter. EDIT: Oh yeah and stop that Pierce dude.

This is awesome. The opening of The Naked Gun if it took place in Liberty City Where the hell is that skate park that I keep seeing pop up in videos like this anyway?
-
I didn't like it. These types of games just don't translate to consoles well at all.
-
Who the hell is going to buy a hot dog from a vending machine when the Fenway Franks are RIGHT FUCKING THERE?
-
$76 to win on a $2 ticket to be exact. The exacta was over six grand. EDIT: BIG BROWN IS NOT HURT!! Thank Christ, I was about to organize a candlelight vigil.

He said he felt his knee pop. You don't get right back up after that. I never realized that Pau Gasol sucked that much at rebounding.

Metal Gear Solid 4 to feature much older Snake...
KingPK replied to Use Your Illusion's topic in Video Games
Yeah, if the plot actually makes sense and doesn't devolve into Crackpot Conspiracy Theater, the long cutscenes may actually be interesting. My fear is that, with so many characters involved, the story is just going to whip from subplot to subplot in order to get everything in. -
I downloaded the Civ demo earlier. I'll probably try it tomorrow.

I'm also not getting a PS3 but am interested to see how they wrap up the story. Unfortunately from what I read, this game has some loooong ass cutscenes. I mean "second half of MGS2 holy shit Colonel stop talking about information control and let me play the fucking game" long. -
Who would have thought that a Rays-Sox series in June would be for the division lead? For anyone that cares, they moved the start time on Thursday to 6:05 to accomodate the NBA Finals.
-
I picked the Lakers in 6. I watched a few of the WCF games and like I said, the Lakers just scare me. They are firing on all cylinders right now (though it seems like Boston may be starting to do the same and the days off should really help).
-
Wow, THREE errors and a wild pitch from the O's lead to three Boston runs in the 13th. And how the hell do you let Jason Varitek and Mike Lowell pull off a double steal?
-
I'll never understand why the NBA doesn't just use the 2-3-2 scheduling for the whole playoffs. And there's STILL a day off between every game (TWO between games 1 and 2!). What the hell?

Freshman year was forgettable, but I really liked the rest of my high school years and I credit that almost completely to my participation in the music department. I wasn't all that good, but I made most of my friends there, was able to travel the country and do something I liked. Nothing beats being turned loose in all the Disney parks for three and a half days (since my group was the last flight out) with your buddies. Senior year, like everyone elses, was for taking classes that intrested me with teachers I liked along with stuff like being a lab assistant so I could be able to either do all my homework or just sleep for an hour.

I'm sure the Pistons have their own collection in some boxes in the back but there's no reason to have them out on store racks already. That picture was from the ESPN Store at Disneyland in Orlando. Not exactly the Garden Pro Shop here. So, as always, blame ESPN.
-
So the NBA or Adidas or whoever put absolutely NO thought into these shirts, did they?

This game may be worse than the two Cleveland games combined. A team that has any hope at all of winning a title would gladly accept Detroit's giving away of this game and run like hell. Whoever said it a few days ago (Ripper? Alf?) is dead on; this team just doesn't play well in close games at all.
