Can someone who knows basketball better than me PLEASE explain this vast discrepancy between the home Celtics and road Celtics? From what I see, they are more timid on the road, can't hit free throws and disappear on defense for stretches at a time (WALLY FREAKIN' SZCZERBIAK was lighting it up at one point).

That wasn't the season finale was it? If it was, it's a weak way to end things.

They pretty much do, considering they can't win the series unless they do win in Boston. Given that the home team is 44-15 in the playoffs so far, I think there's a little bit more to this whole home team dominance thing than you're giving credit for. No, they don't have to prove they can win in boston. they proved they can win in boston by beating boston. So did Atlanta. How did that end up for them? You don't "prove" anything in the playoffs until you actually DO it.

Unless I haven't figured out how to do it, it's kind of weird that there isn't a "kick in the door" move that Niko can use when a door swings shut instead of shooting at it to open it. I think I'm close to the end of the story, but I can see there still is a shitload to do in this city, whether it actually figures in to the completion percentage or not.

A second shooter in the upper bowl of the Superdome?

This week, Yahtzee reads his e-mail regarding the SSBB video.

It was a titanic battle since both teams were ice cold and the scoreboard moved upward like an iceberg? Yeah, that's all I got. Ray Allen is worrying me right now; he's something like 3 for 764 in the playoffs so far.

Motorcycles ARE a bitch in this game, I'll agree with that wholeheartedly.

So I was leaving my safehouse in Broker when someone accidentally ran over a guy and his friend. They got up and the driver bumped him again, so the guy pulled the driver out and they started fighting. A cop saw them and pulled his gun on one of them while the other ran away. The cop had to go around me to get to the guy which allowed him to run off with the cop giving chase. I tried to follow it, but when I turned the corner they both were gone. I took the car, since nobody was using it. It's that kind of random shit that makes the game awesome; this is a living, breathing city. I also checked out the comedy club in Algonquin and heard go on about fat people.

It'll be nice if we can see this kind of basketball AWAY from the Garden over the next round and beyond.

That ends Marvin Williams' season. At least, it SHOULD.

Hey look up there Czech, there goes my point.

Well obviously. But should they, I would think playing in Cleveland is a hell of a lot worse environment than Atlanta is. EDIT: Addressed to Boon.

Whoever drew up that Ray Allen three point play should not even bother taking the flight back. Of course, then they run the play they SHOULD have with Garnett later when they NEED three. In the span of four years, Boston teams will (potentially) be involved in the biggest chokejobs/comebacks/upsets of three major sports. That's insane. This team will not make it past Cleveland if they don't get their shit together. Oh and the officiating was pure drek, but that's par for the course in the NBA.

*price is right winner theme* Hey, if they want me to stimulate the economy, then by God, I'm going to stimulate it raw. I'm looking at something like this one. It's for my bedroom TV (for XBox and DVDs), so I don't want to go nuts and figure that 25-30" is the best size.

"There's Cindy. Show me the new Ted in action!" "Hey Cindy. I want to....make you...pregnant."

Here's something interesting that IGN is doing: A Google Maps-esque map of Liberty City where people can add interesting sights and secrets they find while playing.

I was playing a little bit of multiplayer and Cops and Crooks is INSANELY fun. I was only playing with three other people, so it must be chaos with 16. Free Mode seems like a great one for a bunch of friends to get together and just figure out different things to do.

Anyone else hoping that the carnival near Roman's house (with the mini-golf course) is opened up at one point either in the game or through DLC? I'm about 17% into the game and I'm loving the story; the characters are so scummy that it enhances Niko's likeablilty. Also, the cabaret shows are hilarious. Especially the magician.

About 20 or so minutes (depending on traffic) until XBox Live explodes, I guess. Unfortunately, I'm working so I won't be able to bask in the greatness until 6, but my Wednesday is free to spend the day in the LC.
-
And who the fuck scheduled these games anyway? There's been two damn days between each game in the Celtics/Hawks series. No wonder the NBA playoffs take 4 months.
-
It's more like the Celtics haven't faced ANY sort of pressure whatsoever and that has hid the fact that Doc Rivers is a terrible head coach when the shit does hit the fan. Doesn't help that the bench did jack shit in both games.

Damn, who is this dude that just went at it with Mel Keiper? It looked like he was about to reach over the split screen and slap the toupee off his head. And the fans are booing a Patriots 6TH ROUND pick? Really?

I remember reading that a lot of the music was tweaked a bit to add references to Liberty City to add to the feel that LC is a living, breathing city with a lot of history behind it. I swear, I'm going to be bowling for like two hours at one point while playing this. My poor 360 will be screaming at me by Wednesday night.

If I'm working on Monday night, I hope I can grab my pre-sell copy at closing. Of course, Toys R Us isn't having ANY special sale for this thing, unlike almost every other store out there. We still swing from the Wii's nuts.
