Very impressive outing by call-up Justin Masterson today: 6IP, 2H, 4Ks, 4BB, 95 pitches (58 strikes). With half the team in the MASH unit due to the flu, it's nice to see the future looking so good.

This week: Super Smash Bros. Brawl You can almost see the bile dripping from the bottom of your monitor during this one.

I have it too. Mostly play guitar and vocals online since I still suck on drums.

Guy I work with got tickets to the game tonight. I'm so fucking jealous. That third period was unreal.
-
Into the 20th now. When its cracked midnight on the WEST coast you know the game has been going on awhile.
-
Seasons 3 through 5 are definitely the peak of the series.
-
Guess you know how Orioles fans feel when the Red Sox are in Camden Yards now, eh? It sounded like the place was half and half at best.

Ah, "Indigo Prophecy Syndrome". A malady that many game designers should be aware of. That story just vomited all over itself after that chase scene with the cops (people who have played it should know exactly what I'm talking about).

Maybe, but the Toys R Us I work at still has about 20 copies of Halo 3 that we got when the thing came out. Obviously GameStop will be the first to sell out since they have to fill their pre-orders first leaving fewer copies for sale, but you shouldn't have too much of a problem finding it elsewhere.

Bruins basically threw everything they had out there and got nothing back. Why do I let myself get sucked in time after time? It's like being a Red Sox fan pre-2004 with these guys.
-
Fucking Bruins, put one of these shots in the goddamn net already.

The 2003 and 2004 ALCS were the pinnacle. I don't think we'll ever get the kind of drama that those series provided again. Now it's just two good teams whose fanbases and ownership really hate each other (well, we know Hank Steinbrenner's feelings anyway).

And now Pedroia with bonehead baserunning. This is the worst game ever.

WEEI in Boston is (supposedly) the most listened to sports radio station in the country (they certainly remind you of that enough in their promos), but it is best served in small doses. The morning show (Dennis and Callahan) is probably the worst show on the station, featuring two seemingly always angry and crotchety guys and the most annoying update guy (Jon Metaparel, who makes BC football games unlistenable) ever Their political talk (which is a good 50-75% of the show depending on the day) makes me want to throw my radio out the window. The mid-day show (featuring Dale Arnold and Michael Holley) is probably the best since it is usually straightforward sports talk with some pretty good interviews (Terry Francona in baseball season, Pats guys like Bruschi and Harrison in the fall) and both guys are funny and pleasing to listen to. The 2-6PM show (The Big Show with Glenn Ordway) is definitely the most popular show on the station but definitely differs in quality depending on the co-hosts that day. When guys like Sean McAdam and Rob Bradford are on, it's good, but when mouthbreathers and dolts like Butch Stearns and ESPECIALLY Fred Smerlas are on, I only listen to bits and pieces. They also subscribe to (and perhaps invented) the "yelling over the callers and having a bunch of goofy sound effects = ratings" formula of broadcasting. I don't listen to the nighttime show (Planet Mikey) enough to form an opinion.

I didn't watch Game 1, but Montreal isn't showing me much of anything in this series so far. Boston seems to be able to attack their zone fairly often and they have done absolulely nothing with their power play (which they lead the league in this year, I understand).

I was just about to point that out. THIS is Red Sox-Yankezzzzzzzzzzzz.

How the crowd becomes UNGLUED when the glass shatters is still one of the greatest things I've ever heard.

Surprisingly, the game was at about the 2:30 mark through 7 2/3 when the rain started. It was the damn 2 hour rain delay that did it. EDIT: I'm guessing Papelbon has tomorrow off since he warmed up three times during the delay and then pitched 1 1/3. He was still firing rockets in there, though.
-
A fairly ticky-tack tripping call gives the Habs a power-play win in OT. The Bruins had plenty of opportunities to get on them early, but couldn't. This probably snaps Montreal out of whatever complacency they had and they'll take the next two by a combined score of like 11-2.

Only some of the radio stations (there will be 18 in total if I counted correctly). Announced so far are one for disco, hardcore rock, funk, electronica, Eastern European music and a right-wing talk station (hopefully this one is a lot better than the one in Saints Row)

Anyone check out the official site lately? They've added info about the multiplayer modes and things to do and places to visit in Liberty City. Two weeks..... Just two more damn weeks..... EDIT: The disclaimers about the Bittersweet device (the game world's version of a Blackberry) are hilarious:

79 through 8. I don't think he had a count past 2-2 all night.

Post here if you dislike Will Ferrell...
KingPK replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in Television & Film
I didn't think Will Ferrell would bring out such passion in people. I think he's ok, but I don't get the worship at all. -
Man, the wind and sun in center is playing hell with the fielders at Fenway today. Plus, Kenny Rogers isn't pitching very well at all; the wind knocked down a probable Ortiz grand slam which would have broken it open.

Fresh Prince of Bel Air. This is actually the extended version that you never see in syndication. Drew Carey Show (Cleveland Rocks version). Damn do I love this song.
