WWE Release Gail Kim, Nidia, and Chuck Palumbo
Spaceman Spiff replied to spman's topic in The WWE Folder
Stamboli, too? Damn. Nunzio/Stamboli were actually starting to get over as faces on Velocity. They could've easily run a Dupree/Kenzo vs. Stamboli/Nunzio feud. -
Boo. Leyland's won a title, and experienced great success w/ his Pirates teams. Moreover, he wanted to coach the team. To me, it was a no-brainer. Leyland told the team where their problems were, and I assume that's what lost him the job, which is bullshit. I guess they saw Schilling pick the manager for the Red Sox, and figured it would work out the same here (letting Thome pick the next guy). Somehow, I don't think it's going to work out as well here.

WWE Release Gail Kim, Nidia, and Chuck Palumbo
Spaceman Spiff replied to spman's topic in The WWE Folder
They've had plenty of opportunity to get over. 86 em' and let others have an opportunity... Yeah, *ALL* those chances Chuck had to get over -Billy & Chuck - they were actually decently over. -FBI - they got a couple pushes, but only to build them up for Taker to knock them down (*three* times!) And that's about it. Palumbo could have been a perfectly good tag partner for a guy like Stevie or Val. He's a decent enough big guy, certainly loads better than Tomko. Hell, make Chuck the muscle for Christian. And Gail Kim I don't get at all. -
I'm surprised he didn't (help Toomey). Toomey was a big proponent of the "ban gay marriage" amendment.

Some guys they should consider for the mystery partner: 1) Paul London. Good way to bring him back, by inserting him in a big match and getting a rub by being involved w/ some of SD's bigger names. Plus, you could use the match to set up a London/Carlito feud. 2) Charlie Haas. No reason Haas should be a jobber on SD, so this would be a good way to get him a little push going. Again, you could use the match to set up a feud between Haas and someone on Angle's team (Jindrak, since Haas alreadt had a little program w/ Reigns). It's seems too soon to bring back Cena, considering he should have "severe injuries". On the other hand, it would be a good way to have Cena get payback on Carlito w/out having to job Carlito in a straight singles match. If I had to pick a man, it'd have to be Bob Holly (unfortunately).

Well, this thread title is more informative than 90% of MikeSC's thread titles.

On this topic, one of my friends emailed me this message (i.e. it's not spam): So, you can probably expect more of this type of crap. Just passing along the info, for those who might want to head this stuff off at the pass.

WWE Releases Billy GUnn and A-Train
Spaceman Spiff replied to edotherocket's topic in The WWE Folder
Supposedly, Knoble was told he'd be brought back at a later time, so he probably doesn't want to do TNA for fear of it working against his re-hiring. Except A-Train wasn't constantly pushed down our throats. -
"We already have a George/MikeSC" would have been reason enough.

WWE Releases Billy GUnn and A-Train

Billy Gunn I couldn't care less about, but A-Train is 10x as good as Tomko, Heidenreich, & Snitsky combined. -

You've got to go with Green - whereas Jacksonville has an actual defense, the Colts might as well prop up life-sized cardboard cutouts in the secondary. You can't count on the running backs to steal eight touchdowns ever again. Went w/ Green. Turned out to be the right choice. I'm in 2 leagues. In 1 I have Green, and in the other I have Peyton, so I made out like a champ. -
That's actually an awesome idea for a skit.

OaO Fantasy Football Advice Thread
Spaceman Spiff replied to TheOriginalOrangeGoblin's topic in Sports
David Carr vs. Jax, or Trent Green vs. Indy? Right now, I've got Green as the starter (I've been using Carr pretty much all season), since I envision a shootout. I'm just a bit hesitant I'll see a repeat of last week, where KC put up 56 points while Green only had 269 yd. passing and 0 TD's. Am I making the right call? -
A perfect parallel to point to would be the Dallas Cowboys after Jerry Jones took over the team. Landry couldn't cut it anymore, so Jerry forced him out in favor of Jimmy Johnson. The fans were in an uproar ("how can you turf a legend like Landry?"), but it was ultimately the right call, as they got 3 Super Bowl wins out of the deal. They've got to sit down with him and lay it out like this: "we love you Joe, the fans love you, but the team hasn't been good in years. We're losing recruits. It's time to go in a new direction. Either announce you are stepping down after next season, or we'll be forced to fire you." It's not like he has to sit at home doing nothing. PSU can have him do fundraising, create some kind of position in the athletic dept., etc. I'm sure they can think of something for him to do for the school. (BTW, I'm a PSU alum)

Not sure the context (don't have the game yet), but "yayo" (the spelling is probably way off here) = cocaine. Razor Ramon's "hey, yo" was a "wink" to that.

Anyone else catch the shot of 2 fans carrying a sign around after the game that said "We Forgive Bill Buckner"?

You're right, it was only a little under 7 hours.
