That was a joke, right? No. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?...2151EDT0469.DTL "Jesse Orosco, the Yankees' latest -- and late -- arrival, got loose in the eighth but was not needed. Acquired Tuesday night in a trade with San Diego, the 46-year-old reliever left the West Coast headed for Baltimore, where he thought the game was being played. Orosco was rerouted when he got to Nashville, Tenn., and made it to Yankee Stadium in the sixth. By the end of the inning, he already had changed into his No. 47 jersey and was greeting his new teammates in the bullpen. "Long journey," Orosco said. "There was a mix-up on something, but it worked out.""
-
Oh yeah.. Orosco's Yankee stint started on a good note he went on his way to Baltimore, but the game was in New York
-
and then the Dodgers offered him a deal
-
The Reds turned down Albie Lopez because his elbow was sore. Albie - Amazing long balls included everyday
-
and I thought you were joking but then again, Orosco will be in the Yankee old timers game next year, right?

http://www.kansascity.com/mld/kansascity/s...rts/6342735.htm There's just something that seems odd, in the scene of Pena dancing. But, he has done a great job here. Keep on Dancin! As for Lima, I think I found one of his mambo songs. It's not too bad.

so, who knows how to call off a bet with a bookie, I had $500 put down that she'd lose the bet, but now how do I get it back from him? Anybody? his last name was Rose. (j/k)

Boston wasn't helped out much by not letting any black players play for them until 1959. The Red Sox buy more talent than the Yankees. The difference is that the Red Sox can't get it right and the Red Sox get more sympathy

Juan doesn't want to play on a contender like KC because he doesn't want the pressure. Suck my dick, you pussy. Just go home. If you don't want to play with a contending team, then just go home and allow for the Rangers to concentrate on the future and not your fickle nature. It's time to get tough on Juan. If he doesn't accept a trade by the deadline. Just tell him to go home. If he doesn't want to leave and play for somebody else, he can go home and play for nobody. Juan, if you can't handle pressure, you should retire right now. The Rangers can finish last without you.

I just realized that this must be part of some weird scheme. If Gonzalez goes onto the DL for 15 days, the Rangers can't trade him in the first place. You can't trade players on the DL. I'm sure he just screwed something up on the puke-turf in Tampa Bay

Gonzalez left a game early limping after running to third (he was hit by a pitch) Go figure, he's either hurt or faking it to avoid a trade, unless he got hit in the leg. If you're hit in the back, you usually don't limp as a result

If I understand correctly from my Sabres t-shirts that I got for some reason. the Sabres logo involves a buffalo. Buffalo is also a bit close to Toronto. And another team in Rosemont might work, if the Bulls weren't chronically bad now too. You can't put another bad team there and expect success. They'd be in the shadow of the Bulls

As for Kansas City. The Kemper Arena roof blew off once, but that was in a freak storm. I'd like a new arena, but I don't know where it'd fit. The arena I am impressed with the most is the Phillps Arena in Atlanta. Alot of Basketball arenas are basically the same. One thing I'd like would be some sort of glass ceiling over the court. Although most of the NBA season would be played during cold times. Another appealing idea. Make the KC team the best deal in the NBA. Sorta like how the Royals have the lowest ticket prices in sports. As for Buffalo.. no. They couldn't keep a team the first time. Plus every sports team that has ever been in Buffalo has been called Bills, Braves, Buffaloes.
-
I'm not sure what the problems were with the Kings. But, I did find some info. I found that a Sacramento group brought the team in 1983, which is a sign of doom. As for Kemper Arena. The one problem I have with it is the location, but it is close to downtown. If it isn't the best thing out there (Does the NBA insist on arena extortion like Selig does with stadiums in Baseball?) then the majority of games could be played in KC, with a few in St. Louis (against the Pacers or Bulls), one or two in Fayetteville's Bud Walton Arena (against the Grizzlies?). You never know. But, given the right attitude, a team can succeed. The Clippers in Buffalo and San Diego did wear powder blue, like the Royals here in KC. I would rename the Clippers if they came to Kansas City. Clipper is a sea thing, there are no oceans near Kansas City. Kansas City Cheetahs? Kansas City Comets?
-
What about Kansas City, Missouri?
-
That insistance on a new contract is another problem. Who would give in to those terms? not KC.
-
but with Gonzalez's reluctance, this is believable. The problem with this whole thing is that Gonzalez seems to like changing his mind alot. Mention that to the agents he's fired. Gonzalez might turn down a trade tomorrow. He might accept it. he might insist he wants to stay in the AL, or he could change. Gonzalez's attitude is just.. odd.
-
Tim Kurkjian just reported on ESPN news that Juan Gonzalez was balking at going to the Royals because "the pennant race would put added pressure on him". Pressure is also his reason to keep out of pinstripes. If this is based in reality, then it is a very bad sign. But refusing trades and thwarting your team's future is the wrong thing to do. If he comes to Kansas City, then, good, but he won't have alot of room to fuck things up here. I just don't like his attitude. He's too fickle.

Source for a 'sexed up' report found dead
Rob E Dangerously replied to Rob E Dangerously's topic in Current Events
All in all, this is a rather unfortunate time for him to die. If this is a normal death, nobody is really going to believe it. Face it, people will think that this guy was killed. Unless you just think he killed himself somehow. Hive, that's sad to hear. Hopefully George Tenet won't go on any canoe trips. -
http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/news/mlb...tives&fext=.jsp let's just get this straight, Torre, the big time New York guy beats out Pena here? Pena being within 12 wins of topping last years total, in July doesn't seem to count. Maybe if Tony was in New York, he'd praise him, but since he's in Kansas City, he barely knows anything. Oh yeah, and his rookie of the year choice. While there are valid arguments for Baldelli. I'm holding out my vote for MacDougal or maybe Baldelli, after I watch the D-Rays/Royals games this year. Mack the Ninth seems to be ignored by Tom Dumbass here. "A trio of worthy Royals -- Angel Berroa and Ken Harvey, with identical numbers, and closer Mike MacDougal -- cancel each other out." Just one last note here, Berroa's numbers aren't all that different from Matsui's numbers. Same # of HRs. slight different in BA and OBP. Berroa has a higher slugging percentage than Matsui. The only vast difference is in RBIs, and Berroa bats low in the order about every day. Plus, when it comes to speed, Berroa is beating out Matsui easily. "The man's legs didn't come through customs", Apollo Creed would say. Plus, Berroa is coming off a season where he hit .215 as an Omaha Royal. It appears that he has bounced back from a bad year. Matsui was winning a batting title in Japan. I just don't regard the MLB rookie of the year as being a hyped multi-million dollar star. How often has a possible rookie of the year like Matsui been so well-known before he even batted? This isn't like the first Rookie of the Year, Jackie Robinson, nothing is stopping players like Matsui and Ichiro from playing in ML ball when they're much younger. Matsui could be the best "rookie", but Joe Torre is not the best manager.

They produced stuff that showed Rose bet on the Reds to beat the Expos. You see, one thing is that Rose was supposedly having money problems and he also had a gambling problem. Even ASSOCIATING with gamblers is a big no-no in Baseball. I'd say there is alot to say that Rose did more than that. One problem wth betting on your own team is that it will manipulate your decision making as a manager. Plus, you'll probably give out hints about the team (like who is playing) to the gamblers to help them win money. The "jury" decided nothing really, they thought Pete Rose should be in the hall, and they also thought he bet on baseball. I don't get the "If he just admits it, everything will be fine" mantra. If he admits it, you're going to put him in the hall anyways? You're going to put a man who violated that rule in the hall of fame. I missed most of the trial since there was a Royals game on and there was no chance of Johnnie Cochran showing up in the middle of that game. Did both sides forget that the Hall of Fame is a private organization and that it's not really controlled by major league baseball? that the hall changed their rules when Rose was about to get in. So, what this shows is that I can get 4,000 hits and then bet on my team and I should "pay the price" (what has Rose paid? lost money from selling his stuff? jail for income tax stuff?) and get into the hall of fame? Let's reinstate the Black Sox then, they paid their due, right?

I like this Griffey. I get a perverse pleasure out of watching things go wrong for him. Ya know, when you think about it, alot of the second-generation guys today had fathers on the Yankees (Bonds, Griffey, Alomar, Alou) and none of the sons actually played for the Yankees. I don't hate him because he never played for the Yanks. I hate him because he's a cocky, lying sack of shit. I never said you were mad over a lack of Griffey. I'd face it here.. Griffey was not the same after leaving the Kingdome
