it's sorta amusing to have Bush ask for Democrats to vote for him at a rally where there'll be very few Democrats present. (it's even more amusing that he calls them the "Democrat party" in some areas and the "Democratic party" in others) I don't know what they call the oath, i've heard it refered to as the "Loyalty Oath" though

It's a typo. Get over it. Bush loses. Bush gets foot loose! foot loose! take off your sunday shoes!

And the commercials have their own agenda with their twisting of reality. Jaxl, Are there any issues which you'd vote on above all other things? Now that I think about it, not really. Although Bush's religious/conservative/censorship shit that Stern is always chirping about has me sorta turned off. the weird thing with Bush and all that is that I don't think he goes to church often on Sundays. He's a bit worse, a person who presents himself as religious, yet what does he do? the word for that is "hypocrite", if I recall correctly. Then again, i'm the type that also recognizes that legislating morality is doomed to failure. Basically, laws from Washington have less of an effect on issues like Abortion, Teenage Sex, and so on than people taking action with their friends and family. A lot of this is about responsibility. That just isn't legislated. When it comes to banning Partial-Birth Abortion, Kerry was right to vote against it. The oath he took obligated him to do it. The PBA bans without an exemption for the mothers health have consistantly been struck down as 'unconstitutional' by the courts. In his own way, he tried to protect the constitution.

At least in the Zogby numbers, Bush's numbers in the Dairy Triangle (Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin) have been poor. though 6 Zogby daily polls: In Iowa, he hasn't hit 47% since Monday. He's been around 45% since then. In Minnesota, Bush's best showing was 46% In Wisconsin, Bush's numbers have gradually sunk, with an average of around 46%. Bush would need a majority of undecideds and maybe a bit more, which is unlikely, to win in the Dairy Triangle

Osama wants us all to form militias!

Emotions don't really factor into the job of President too much. Making sound decisions is more important. Although, if you want something involving emotion or composure, then i'll mention this to you. Kerry seems to be the type that isn't fazed by pressure too often. It happens after the experiences which he's went though, in war and at home. Over the last four years, have you been better off, or worse off? I'm not sure which issues matter to you, so I would be shooting in the dark if I threw out some reasons to vote Kerry

If any Bushism lives long and prospers, it'll be the phrase "One Fingered Victory Salute"

The online mention of The Brain Sandwich: http://www.megiloth.com/food_and_dining/clems.htm I'm waiting for the Clem's story to show up on http://www.thex.info/ (they go into some of the other stuff on the menu, such as the burger made up of ground beef) Braaaaainsssss! (I think the brains at Clems are pig brains.. but not even Mad Cow can stop the Brain Sandwich - http://www.cnn.com/2004/HEALTH/01/16/brain.sandwich.ap/ ) I'm tempted to buy a brain sandwich for lunch someday.

Is it just me, or is having an even number of electoral college votes a bad idea?

It may help him a little bit, but I don't think it'll have a huge effect. Just because it's helped him in the past doesn't mean that he'll be helped by the same amount when repeated. Something loses it's effect when it happens multiple times. I'm not sure how much "Osama's out there and he doesn't like the President" will sway people. For one thing, I don't think the President has really mentioned Bin Laden much by name in the last two years. He mentioned OBL in one of the debates. Most of the time, Osama is treated by the President as "He who must not be named". Drudge's headline for this story ("Remember Me?") is quite fitting. Of course. If Nader wins the election, Osama will take credit for it. there's two bases of voters, and neither one is going to move. The Pew poll from a few weeks ago indicated that their sample of undecideds had concerns which were closer to the Kerry supporters than the Bush supporters. (the image of that poll is here: http://people-press.org/reports/images/229-4.gif ) The only room for gain on the video is if one side screwed up, and that has yet to occur. Of course, he won't succeed. The world can be crazy at times, but they're not as crazy to believe that Osama bin Laden has underwent a makeover of his views.

E-V.com's polls are up in the morning that map was up long before OBL's video

Why kill him? He'd be a martyr. Make him serve hard labor until he dies in captivity. No matter what we do to Osama, somebody's going to call him a martyr.
-
I'm not sure on the specific methods, but his corpse would end up being displayed like Mussolini's was. When it comes to finishing off OBL. The sooner, the better. Right now, there's probably a better shot of an OBL capture on January 20th than by November 2nd I'm concerned about finding him and finishing him off. I know there's a shot that he could be martyred by his crazy followers. But then again, there's no real way to get him without somebody claiming that bullshit.

Being reminded that Osama bin Laden is still alive after 3 years on the run is supposed to help Bush? Osama bin Laden is an egomaniac. Basically he wants to screw with our election. In the scheme of things, Osama wins if you let his reappearance influence your vote. Osama wins if you intrepret his words and change your vote to go against one candidate (Bush or Kerry). Fuck Osama He won't change my vote Will you let him change your vote? He won't change my mind Osama is doing what some call "trolling" The difference between this tape and what happened in Spain is that the Spanish were attacked and he's just releasing a tape to us at the moment. I don't see a clear connection between killing hundreds of people and bashing the President. In conclusion, Fuck Osama

Whoops! Iraqi explosives disappear under our guard
Rob E Dangerously replied to Rob E Dangerously's topic in Current Events
the latest story is that we moved out 200 tons of this stuff in April. Although you'd think this would be information that would have been mentioned on Monday. This should be filed under "October Surprise" because the chameleon-ish reaction from the White House definately shows us that they didn't see this coming. Since if you expect something specific to come up, you usually don't have a different alibi for every day -

I'm considering swapping my vote...
Rob E Dangerously replied to MarvinisaLunatic's topic in Current Events
there's no real incentive on your side either. Nader won't get 1%, much less 5% and there's always the chance that the other guy could be somebody putting on an act to rip you off -

If you don't mind me asking, what would be the benefit of SMS Reearch and Honolulu Advertiser both rigging their polls on Bush's behalf? Hawaii's lonely and they want Bush or Kerry to visit ermm.. nah.. it's "shoddy work".. poll the largest and most Republican island, leave out the more Democratic islands. Get a draw.

If I disappear for a few days, blame Tom DeLay
Rob E Dangerously replied to Rob E Dangerously's topic in No Holds Barred
I deserve better than Tom DeLay Couldn't somebody who isn't going to go to prison within the next 4 years take me away? To make that scenario worse, just imagine the song it would inspire. Tom DeLay took my baby away, took him away, away from me When it comes to somebody to take me away, AMERICA CAN DO BETTER maybe P Diddy will kill me after I forget to vote
