http://www.zaman.org/?bl=international&alt...040921&hn=12424 Well.. Saddam's counting on Gallup.. I guess nobody ever told him "You think the poll is inaccurate" So.. any idea on the system for Iraqi elections? one big primary followed by a runoff is one guess I suspect the "Anybody but Saddam" vote will be strong too

The 'Palestineans' and their leadership are something that only fools and the ignorant get behind. The leadership sucks. That's the top reason against any Palestinean state. If you give them a state and Arafat dies, who takes power? If you give them a state and Arafat isn't the leader, who is the leader? will this leader be from an organization which calls for the destruction of Israel? if so, then it's dangerous to create such a state. You know that if the home next to you was sold to a family that wanted to kill you, you wouldn't like that. The Arab leadership has also screwed over the 'Palestineans' since it was better to their agenda to leave them miserable as opposed to helping them find new homes. The leadership which got them out of their homes in 1948 also screwed them. Even opportunists like Osama bin Laden are just using the Palestineans to enhance their image. For OBL, it's a recruitment tool. You can't recruit people into your group if you don't say stuff that they'll agree with. Same goes for Saddam Hussein. Islam is more peaceful than really seen, but soon enough, the Wahabbi fundamentalists in Saudi Arabia and other places will clash with the other Muslims. Any Martin Luther in the Middle East will likely have to get a huge bodyguard group. As for the Israeli settlements. Even with that, they're better than the Palestineans. I haven't seen anything to suggest that there's extraordinary oppression of the 'Palestineans' in Israel. There's stuff that is done for security reasons (such as the wall and so on). Stuff is also done after the 'Palestineans' provoke the Israelis. Sure, the Israelis have superior firepower and the 'Palestineans' should have noticed that. They should have realized that throwing stuff at them doesn't work out well for them. As for the Hamas assassinations. I wish there was a better way to get rid of those Hamas leaders. Such as a way to reduce civilian casualties, but if those people are around the leaders, then they might die too. The Palestineans are better off each a Hamas leader is killed. Man.. I really skew to the right on Israel. Nah, it's not really the right. It's just that the Palestineans are fuckups.

this is bad news for S. Adam Hussein -
as a general rule.. if the guy is on the ballot though the signatures of people who won't vote for him.. he won't finish well in the election.

You just made one hell of an investment. You should start buying stocks.

Gee, nothing suspicious HERE at all. -=Mike sorry.. I was brief there it's conceivable that the voter registration drives are a bit heavier this year than in 2000. and hopefully everything is being conducted legally. But it wouldn't surprise me if some overzealous people's actions will lead to you saying "they all do it!"

http://www.washtimes.com/upi-breaking/2004...54405-9487r.htm meanwhile.. Bush and Allawi were claiming that Iraq was on it's way to elections in January: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,133299,00.html and Donald Rumsfeld mentioned that parts of Iraq may not be voting in January: http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...usa_rumsfeld_dc and meanwhile in Fallujah, remember the brigade we let administer the city? http://www.hinduonnet.com/thehindu/holnus/...00409131756.htm The biggest difference between Iraq and Vietnam appears to be the scenary and the number of dead soldiers. The problem in Vietnam with politicians running the war seems to be reoccuring in Iraq. I'm sure America was told that the VietCong was a handful, like the Iraqi insurgents. I'm sure that the elections in South Vietnam were looked upon eagerly as well. Granted, there's potential that the elections could work. Although if the government elected asks us to leave, do we do that? It won't be the exact same mess. Times change, the difficulties will be different, and the people killed won't come back. Even with the constant optimism, I don't know what will have to happen in Iraq. It doesn't seem like capturing Saddam did anything to stop insurgents. It doesn't seem like there's too much to do that would better the situation. *shrug* yeah..

Palm Beach county results, Senate candidate v. Presidential Candidate: Bill McCollum - 154.642 George W. Bush - 152,951 Bill Nelson - 270,452 Al Gore - 269,732 Considering the two congressman in that district.. it's not shocking that the Democratic candidates for the house lagged behind Gore. There was a 57,553 margin between total votes for Congress and President. And there was a margin of 3,202 more votes for the Senate in Palm Beach county. The third party candidates that got 1% of the vote for the Senate race: Joe Simonetta (Natural Law Party, 2,956 votes) Willie Logan (Independent candidate, 4,391 votes) Not a surprise He gained 787 votes.. you're allowed to round that up too. I'd imagine in a county with high spoilage.. there will be jumps. Like how Bush got 100 more votes in PBC. Feel free to cite a source. that too..
-
Well.. i'd imagine this move may not go over well with some voters. For example.. a lot of the Catholic ones.
-
which candidate would that be? Morris Thompson ®, candidate in the 19th district: 35,202 votes in PB county Congressman Mark Foley ®, 16th district, 70,124 votes in PB county (he won) William Lambert ®, 23rd district, 16,320 votes in PB county Congressman Clay Shaw ®, 22nd district, 36,728 votes in PB county (he won) So, while you stated your point poorly and you were pretty much deceptive, those four men got 158,374 votes while George W. Bush got 152,964 votes in the county. Since there's no chance that a combination four people (including two Congressman) would EVER get more votes than a President.. we'll send this to the proper authorities. BTW.. do you know what number I should call in South Carolina to notify them of a suspicious result? Andrew Brack (D) won 9516 votes in Georgetown county Al Gore won 9355 votes in Georgetown county Jane Frederick (D) won 25312 votes in Lexington county Al Gore won 22818 votes in that county It's pretty damned suspicious to me

I'm sorry --- there are no violent parts in America. I forgot. -=Mike Not on the level of Iraq. or did I miss a RPG attack in Detroit?
-
then again, since there's a chance of fraud in every form of election, I guess that means we'll have to get rid of voting. Since if we don't vote, there's no chance of voter fraud. As for Florida in 2000. I'm sure there's a better word than interesting to describe how you're unwilling to at least say that screwy things went both ways. Only the Democrats did bad things, i'm sure.
-
yeah.. you can only imagine.. since you have nothing to prove your claim
-
Ya know.. I guess Rumsfeld was right about Iraq being as safe as most American cities. I was almost carjacked by armed militants recently. Not to mention the numerous bombings and beheadings in the KC metro area
-
Actually, I have a problem with people voting illegally. -=Mike Still interesting how you open your mouth to swallow anything anti-Democrat. (Unless such a thing is too embarrasing, even for you) Guilty until proven innocent, I'm sure. Will you make another post on this story when it's shown to be groundless?

"And the final point that I think needs to be made is this question of casualties. I don't think you could have done all of that without significant additional US casualties. And while everybody was tremendously impressed with the low cost of the conflict, for the 146 Americans who were killed in action and for their families, it wasn't a cheap war. And the question in my mind is how many additional American casualties is Saddam worth? And the answer is not very damned many. So I think we got it right, both when we decided to expel him from Kuwait, but also when the President made the decision that we'd achieved our objectives and we were not going to go get bogged down in the problems of trying to take over and govern Iraq." - [Dick Cheney, Remarks to the Discovery Institute, Seattle, WA, 8/14/92]

Secretary Rumsfeld has good news from Iraq! http://www.defenselink.mil/transcripts/200...secdef1326.html The population of the USA: 293 million The population of Iraq: 25 million It's a deceptive comparison. Although, the risk of being abducted and decapitated might be high in the US too, like in Iraq. "If America were Iraq, What would it be Like?" and here's one more thing from Juan Cole: The red parts are mainly controlled by the insurgents. The pink is the location of fighting. Seems like a pretty large chunk of the country isn't in the hands of us or the Allawi government. The same area which may not vote in the elections (according to "The Donald", Secretary Rumsfeld)
