    This is not good

Of course guilt is assumed. But still.. I'd say this doesn't go anywhere. But, i'm sure some of you want a reason to try and scrutinize the millions of people registered by groups like ACT. (It's around 200K, I think, in Missouri). None of us have a problem with young people voting, right? even if the odds say they'll overwhelmingly vote for Kerry. For general reference, Coulson is a Democrat. So he'll either be part of the conspiracy or a crusader to the right, depending on the outcome of this.

    Various Iraq newsbits

Within the last week: File this under "Messeges, not mixed"- The Kerry ad with the clip of the "Right Track" comment is here: http://www.johnkerry.com/video/092404_right_track.html and here's a security update for Iraq: That's from USAID. Obviously they missed the events of flower throwing and the bunnies.

    A Good Point from NRO

One problem with the UN General Assembly is that each nation gets a vote. It's pretty much a Senate. Now, if you get proportional, you'd get the bigger nations and they could block some of the more blatant crap. Granted, they'd have to find a big room for such gatherings. I'm sure the "UN is filled by evil dictatorships" line doesn't contradict the Bush ads hailing all the democracies in the world. I can't see the veto being taken away though. And, it's probably undercutting to speculate on how many people Ayad Allawi has killed, while in the Baath Party and afterwards.

Question about Bush's social security plan

wouldn't increasing the payments from the younger people help make up some of the difference when it's paid to the retirees? Investments work, until the market goes down and people get mad because their retirement money has vanished. That's the big risk.
  7. it seems to be a difference that Bush isn't mentioning when it comes to Iraq. One idea.. combine the proportional system with the winner takes all.. either have 1076 votes, or split the votes to have 538 votes total

What the f*ck?!? Terror watchlist passenger...

To the families of Israelis who were killed by Hamas bombers funded by the contributions of Stevens and others, I imagine it's pretty serious indeed. Fuck him. It wouldn't surprise me if Cat Stevens was pretty guillable

I am sick and fucking tired of everyone using 9/11

I think the lack of communication before 9/11 was a bigger more preventable problem
  10. The Republican Party, the party which has lost the majority of urban areas since 1932, will go to those areas to get votes and ignore you guys. The Democratic Party, which wins large majorities in those urban areas wouldn't try to branch out and get some more votes. Something tells me that there'll be campaigning in suburban areas and get out the vote efforts in rural areas. Do you suspect there's also people living in Kansas or Utah who would vote Democrat but won't do it because it won't matter? Do you suspect the same about Republican voters in Rhode Island or Hawaii? But, since George W. Bush will hit the stump in Heavily Democratic areas.. i'm sure that proves the badness of the Popular vote. But anyways.. I'd imagine there would be a rise in turnout with a popular vote. Anyways.. put "None of the Above" on the ballots. You'd at least get the disgruntled voters to show up for that.

    Various Iraq newsbits

This being the same intel that got us into Iraq in the first place? Mike.. do you suspect Allawi has reason to sugarcoat or spin? It's reasonable that he would. How much of Iraq can he move though? Yeah.. that's one difference. It'd be like if we were fighting the Iranian army during this. Yeah.. and elections were held in 1968. The 1971 elections turned out to be considered a "sham". Although the South Vietnamese Democratic Process lost ground when Diem banned all opposition in the 1950s. I admit there's variables. But, out of the wars since the early 1970s, this is the closest. Although there were probably those who considered Vietnam a bit of a civil war too. But it was pretty much intranation. This is civil. With reports of around 20,000 or so people, and growing, even as they are killed. yep.. it's pretty much disruption, and related to a power vacuum in the country, various religious things, resentments and all that. I didn't mention this.. but there's definately room for some improvement in dealing with guerrilla warfare. It cannot be eliminated completely. But still, it seems to be the thorn in the paw. and again, I admit there's differences. maybe "the most similar" is a bit of an easy statement too. that involves tactics which were not undertaken in those wars, but have seemingly been undertaken in this war. Here's Former President Bush to a group of Gulf War veterans in 1998: http://www.fas.org/news/iraq/1999/03/a19990303bush.htm Appears GW didn't hear those statements from his own father. yeah.. there's this problem.. involving insurgents having control of parts of the country. And as well, would you say that Iraq has been safer since Saddam Hussein was captured? It seems that the various groups have stepped up activity.

Saddam plans to run for President of Iraq

Wait.. John Kerry is bad, since he'll bash Saddam but he also is with dictators Allawi also has no reason to sugarcoat stuff anyways, and he knows Iraq, since he's spent half his life in England and giving foreign aid to countries that just happen to support our acts (like Costa Rica, Palau and Tonga) is not any sort of bribery at all. And the Coalition is vast too! And John Kerry is being bad for daring to question it's awesomeness. It's not window dressing! Our 28 allies provide 13% of the troops by themselves! Anyways.. it's just a small handful of people fighting us in Fallujah, it's not like our withdrawal from that city was a Vietnam-esque political move where the Fallujah brigade that we let administer the city were fighting the Americans. Anyways, Iraqis are more optimistic than we are, and that's a good thing! did I summarize the messege well? Are the insurgents committing suicide at the gates of Iraq?

Saddam plans to run for President of Iraq

Wait.. if Saddam wins.. we're supposed to be nice to him? so much for him being an outlaw dictator and all that. So, Allawi's claims about Iraq are infallible.. like how he claimed that they had chemical weapons that they could fire within 45 minutes. How about W declaring that Iraq would have elections in January because Allawi told him they would? comparing Allawi to Saddam isn't too flattering to Allawi

    does Iraq even have trains?
  18. Forgetting that NYC goes Democrat by a large margin. Same goes for almost every other big urban area in the United States. Although relying on the Popular Vote would draw the Democrats more towards the suburban areas (while trying to get out the vote in the urban areas) I forget if anybody's mentioned IRV yet.. but I suspect it wouldn't work. Unless Americans have moved forward in the last 80 years in their ability to pick a second choice (they weren't when this was an option in Alabama). Plus, IRV seems a bit complex. The fair thing to do is put "None of the Above" on the ballot in all 50 states

  22. maybe registered independents could cast votes in their own open primary with all the candidates, but it wouldn't really be meaningful. There's no party registration in Missouri though, and it's probably like that in a good number of states

Best. Restaurant. EVER!, Worst. Restaurant. EVER!

this is probably a big bounce, but here goes.. KFC - good sides, good chicken, I should try the wrap again Arby's - good Popeyes - I've had the jambalaya twice and the chicken once, proving that I am a bit out there. It was good. Church's - Never bothered to go Denny's - It was everything I expected.. it smelled like smoke, there was a wait, but my BLT wasn't too bad Backyard Burgers - Rocks, hard. Hardees - Turned the corner, and it's good stuff now. McDonalds - Fucking pansy burgers (maybe I could stop getting the "Two Cheeseburger" combo) Burger King - A bit better Wendy's - good food Applebees - I didn't finish my stuff both times Joe's Crab Shack - I should have gotten the seafood instead of their attempt at a burger Arthur Bryant's owns you. If only I could find a way to get a parking space in a good spot around there. Taco Bell - I go from time to time. But not that often. Sonic - Does it count? either way.. it's average I don't think the Auntie Anne's thing at my local mall counts, but they have sour cream and onion pretzels. Hooters - The food is average, and the women are like a lot of women, they humor you as a way to get you to give up money
