I don't recall those since at least when I read the magazine they always pimped Howie Long as Cap and Mel Gibson as Wolverine. That being said, I do recall them pimping Eminem as Ultimate Magneto, which made me laugh and laugh and laugh at how retarded that was...........

I posted this pick at the K-Box Comics and Porn message board website. Notice the resemblence to everyone's favorite pussy cat loving, wife murdering Bond villain: Allow me to introduce myself. I am Ernst Stavro Blofeld....

Claremont, though to be fair the whole "death" thing was supposed to just be a temp thing done so as to allow Claremont to reboot Betsy back to her British body within a matter of months (to coincide with the whole Invasion storyline in XXM). But Joe Quesada had to be a cuntface ass-sucker and refused to let Claremont bring Betsy back so as to finish the storyline (which then had to be totally rewritten from scratch since Betsy's return was the lynchpen of the entire story).

Paramount releasing Classic Nickelodeon on DVD!
JasonX replied to GreatWhiteNope's topic in Television & Film
I'd rather have the Disney version than the crappy Nick version on DVD. -
Only the two Daria movies (both of which come with two bonus episodes each) are on DVD. Last I heard, the reason it isn't out on DVD is that MTV gutted their animation division a couple of years back (right before Daria ended) and that said gutting ended with Paramount gaining control over all of MTV's animation show library and essentially sitting on it for no good reason save for them being able to do so. That being said, it's been heavily rumored in the last year and a half that Paramount might liscence out a bunch of the MTV toons to other companies ala Invader Zim for DVD release and that Daria has been mentioned as one of the shows that Paramount has received interest in with regards to other companies wanting to buy the rights to release the show on DVD.

They don't want to have to pay all those music groups royalties by keeping the videos in the show. And, as great as B&B was, B&B without the videos loses a lot of the appeal. It's the same thing with Daria - every episode used no less than 5 licensed songs. Actually it's more like 12-15 songs per episode but they are mainly used as generic background music so they could easily be removed.

Absolutely not- Seth is the best castmember on SNL right now and he's become their leading go to guy with Forte and Armisen. While Forte really only works in weird skits (see OH NOOOOOO), Seth is much more versatile and can do almost anything. He also finally got some national press with his John Kerry impression and turned Dave Clinger into a very popular recurring character. He also is almost always hilarious when he's on Weekend Update and he brings an energy and excitement to the desk that Amy lacks. Will Forte would be okay on Weekend Update, but he wouldn't be able to be bizzare and wierd, so we'd get a watered down version of him- and that's not good. Better to leave him off so he can do commentaries. Chris Parnell is just 'that guy.' Lorne made a huge mistake firing him after 2000-2001 and rehiring him again in 2002 has done absolutely nothing. I like Parnell a lot but his time has past. Kenan wouldn't work at the desk. Neither would Riggle. Riggle is best at playing screaming drill seargeant type characters- again- that's better suited for commentaries. Sadly Seth has been in Jimmy Fallon's shadow so long that his sell-by date has expired. Best to strap the rocket on Will Forte and push him as the next big star and keep Seth to a minimum. And off of Update since whenever he's on Update he's 99% of the time in total fratboy mode and is extremely hit or miss in the laugh department..... And as for WU, Forte's wierdness would be a much welcomed thing since it would liven up Update and bring back a level of "what will happen next" that hasn't been on Update since Norm McDonald was anchor. Plus it would make Tina/Amy (depending on who you keep) play straight man to Forte.

Seth is a total and complete lost cause that should be jetisoned from SNL as soon as humanly possible. Better to put Will Forte/Chris Parnell in the slot or take a chance on one of the featured players (IE Keenan Thompson or Rob Riggle).

Volume 4 of Essential X-Men collects UXM #162-179/Annual 6 (the sequel to X-Men vs Dracula). Basically it collects "From the Ashes", the as of yet uncollected outside of Essentials "Broodwar" arc, and the second battle with the Brotherhood of Evil/Kitty's Almost-Wedding to Caliban...

The ending to the first season was a sort of "out" in case Cartoon Network didn't renew the show......

"I Would Walk 500 Miles" was from "Benny and June", a film Johnny Depp did in the early 1990s that basically bombed and died a horrible, horrible, horrible death at the box office. Hence why no one mentioned it....

DC Comics' Next Big Event after Identity Crisis
JasonX replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in Literature
All you need to know about Blue Beetle is this: He's the second Blue Beetle, the first one was an unlucky dude with a magic scarab that got crushed by rocks by a giant robot. He's medium sized genius and has an air-blast gun and a giant "Bug-Ship" that he and the JLA flies around in. He's best friends with Booster Gold, a fame-seeking time traveler who almost always gets Blue Beetle roped into his various "become rich and famous" schemes. He has his own small-time electronics company and has close ties with Oracle, who he corresponded with on the internet when health problems temporarily sidelined Beetle's super-hero career. -
DC Comics' Next Big Event after Identity Crisis
JasonX replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in Literature
My guess is that it's Adam Strange and that he's not really dead, just wounded. And that Countdown is one big plug for the Thanagar/Rann War, which is supposed to re-establish the Green Lantern Corps as a force in the DCU.... BTW The Dildo has recently stated that with regards to "How far back will Crisis II/Countdown/IDC goes back towards events being foreshadowed" that everything somehow all connects back to the murder of Donna Troy and that her death is the thing that IDC and Countdown/Crisis II all go back towards in regards to what is the thing that caused all of this to happen.... -
DC Comics' Next Big Event after Identity Crisis

Current word on the street is that it might be a mortally wounded but still alive Adam Strange, in order to kick off the Thanagar/Rann war storyline... -
Spoiler Space . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Here are some major spoilers for the first three episodes of "The Shield" New characters: Capt. Monica Rawling- Glenn Close joins the cast as the new Police Captain in charge of the Barn. Unlike Acaveda she'll cut a deal with Vic right away where they will work together as opposed to feuding with him. However she will have some sort of agenda going on, one that involves the entire Farmington District so she won't be the ultra-naive new kid on the block. Antwon- A former gang member turned community activist, he'll end up being recruited by Vic and Captain Monica to stop a coming gang war that threatens the community Armando (AKA Army)- A former Marine turned police officer, he's Shane's new partner and is basically pretty naive and trusting of Shnae, who he looks at as his mentor. Shane of course is going to totally going to exploit Army and see how far he can get Army to cross the line of acceptable police behavior as Shane seeks to carve out his own reputation independantly from Vic. Brief episode spoilers: 401- Glenn Close debuts and forms an alliance with Vic despite Acaveda warning her about how Vic is not to be trusted. Vic and Captain Monica will seek an alliance with Antwon and that some how their plot will cross over with the B-Plot involving Dutch and Claudette investigating the murder of an entire family. 402- A spotlight episode for Shane and his new partner creating havok on the streets and Shane being a bad mentor to his rookie partner. Meanwhile Vic and his wife get involved in a lawsuit in the B-Plot, as Vic and Corrine decide to sue a drug manufacturer for causing their kids autism when they find out their two youngest kids took defective medication. 403- Gang war breks out and Vic tries to get the Strike Team back together. Unfortunately for him, all of the anger of the group's fall-out now seems to be directed at him, which forces Vic to do a plan B involving him recruiting Antwon to keep the peace. Dutch and Claudette have their own B-Plot involving robbery/murder and Julian and Dani have an as of yet stated storyline for the episode.
-
With Chiklis around, you don't have to worry about that. So with the Strike Team broken up and new characters coming in, are Lem and Ronnie gone from the show now? They are all on the show still but from what the spoilers are saying, we may not see them (or Dani and Julian) until the third episode of the season. However I seriously think we might see them in the first two episodes in some shape and form if only to establish their current status and set up the third episode.... That being said, it's seriously looking like this Antwon will be this season's Poochie in that all of the storyline will revolve around him and everyone talking about him in terms of the plot ala Mara.

Wrong album. That's the theme to "Wish You Were Here".... "Dark Side of the Moon" is all about the descent into insanity. The members of Pink Floyd were still dealing with the loss of Syd Barrett, who's struggle with mental illness resulted in him leaving the band and becoming a hollow and very much broken man and that was basically the overall theme of DSOTM....

Actually, the current rumor is that the Phoenix Endsong will not feature Jean coming back, just raise her from the dead and return her to the grave as a cheap sales ploy. The rumor goes that Jean's resurrection is being saved until X-Men 3 comes out and that the mini-series is being done simply to keep Jean in the public eye despite being dead....

Even though JQ is an asshole of the highest order, if he went that would mean Brian Bendis would be the man most likely to take over running Marvel as EIC. Which would mean taking the worst aspects of the Jim Shooter, Tom DeFalco, and Bob Harras runs as EIC and magnify them by an apocalypse factor of about a million.....

Whedon won't bring Jean Grey back. He's stated for the record that he sees Emma and Scott as the main couple for the franchise and basically had to literally get on his knees and suck Joe Quesada off in order to get him to agree to this since JQ had basically given Chuck Austen the order to break Emma and Scott up in New X-Men #155-156 (which is why the two parter is horribly nonsensical since JQ changed his mind and let Whedon have his way after Whedon debased himself to the extent that JQ was willing to give Whedon said request after giving him the proverbial creative ass raping by way of telling him that Joss was going to have to be Marvel editorial's hand puppet if he wanted the job).......... That being said, Joss Whedon and Astonishing X-Men is basically the poster child for big name celebrity writers whoring their names out to comic companies, lubing their asshole nice and wet so that editorial can ram their hand so far up people like Whedon's asshole and turn him into their personal handpuppet.....
-
It mainly consists of a bunch of one-shots that Marvel put out years after the AOA storyline was orignally published, that take place before the AOA began. They all suck donkey balls and really do an EXTREMELY piss pour job with regards to being a follow-up of the original storyline....
-
Actually they've not said exactly HOW many volumes the upcoming "complete" AOA TPB series is going to be; all we know at this time is that they are sticking all of the one-shots/flashblack books into the first TPB in order to get them out of the way. That being said, it's probably going to take at least three TPBs to collect the entire motherfucker X-Over and that doesn't count the first volume. That being said, them collecting the thing in huge chunks might make it worth a novelty purchase despite the $30 price tag each volume is going to sport. But take it from me, DO NOT FUCKING BUY THE FIRST VOLUME!!!!!!!!!!!

In a way, one could counter this by stating that Chappelle only got famous on CC because he blatantly pushed the button, in terms of content and that it was THAT that got him over after so many years of toiling in obscurity. That being said, Chappelle's career seems to be that of a dude who spent years playing "Mr Nice Guy" but didn't have his career take off until he became all "edgy" by going the controversy route. Sort of like Chris Rock, only in Chappelle's case his patron was Comedy Centrel instead of HBO (who hasically made Rock a pet project in the mid-1990s).....

To be fair, there are not that many evil Hal stories mainly do to DC pussying out with regards to Hal going evil. When the backlash hit, DC sort of pulled Hal out of circulation with him only making ultra-rare appearances before his death in Final Night. Evil Hal appearance guide: Green Lantern #48-50 Guy Gardner Warrior #19-20 Zero Hour #1 and #0 Green Lantern #0 Green Lantern #63-64 TECHNICKALLY you could toss in Final Night/Parallax: Emerald Night but Hal is portrayed as a good guy in these last living appearance books.... As for the writing of Hal, he is written like a low rent post-Claremont Magneto. I have to believe that this was done on purpose by Ron Marz, who wanted to salvage SOME dignity/sympathy for Hal since he's written just about every single evil Hal appearance not counting the GG: W and Zero Hour issues. #48-50 and Zero Hour are in print; GL #0 and #63-64 was collected but the TPB with them are out of print. GG: W #19-20 are not available in any TPB. They should be easy to find and cost about $3-5 bucks......

This TPB sucks. No Preacher, no Sandman, and would it fucking kill DC to collect Swamp Thing #20 (which is Alan Moore FIRST Swamp Thing story, no matter how hard DC tries to push #21 as his first ever ST story) in TPB format? They should have collected the following six stories: 1. Animal Man #5 (Willy Cyote as Jesus) 2. Sandman #8 (Sandman and Death reunite) 3. Transmet #1 4. Preacher #1 5. Y Last Man on Earth #1 6. Swamp Thing #20 (First Alan Moore ST)
